Cats: the perfect pet for small urban spaces
My parents got my sister and I a cat when I was 5. We really wanted a dog but since our backyard was like 20 x 12 feet, it wasn't enough. Our cat was really nice to everyone until it was de-clawed. We were warned that it would become more agitated with strangers because its only defense was taken away. Sure enough, our cat was nice to us, but would run up and attack anyone unfamiliar, which never happened prior to the declawing. Not as bad as 'burger n fries' in this video, but pretty nasty. If you aren't into taking care of pets for a long time, indoor cats probably wouldn't be the best for you. Our cat is still alive. I'm 23 now, so our cat is 18 years old, and in great health, except since I moved out for college, I've become a stranger so when I come home, the cat greets me by biting my hand. I doubt I'll ever get a pet, and I'm sure when I have kids someday they will annoy the hell out of me for one. Dogs poop everywhere, and cats are lazy and don't do much. I'm lazy so I doubt I'd end up being a good pet owner.

General: Complete Streets, Road Diets, and Traffic Calming
I would expect to see downtown spurs as the first thing removed if mass transit were to take over. I'm sure they would be changed to boulevards with a bunch of infill around it.

Similar Message Boards For Other States/Cities?
I used to be a moderator there, but later asked to be restored as an standard member cause i didn't want to enforce the b.s as you all explain above...and I agree with what is being said. They actually told me I couldn't be a member of this site, but I signed up anyway. My usual user name everywhere is wolverine, but I had them changed to 'hayward' so they wouldn't catch my identity.

Top Ten Reasons Why I Dispise Grocery Stores
Actually the real thing wrong with Kroger is that their produce and baked goods taste horrible. My housemates and I bough the same stuff from Meijer and Kroger to compare. Meijer's produce was fresher, the baked goods were larger and cheaper, and on top of it all, it tasted great. Kroger on the other hand had small, bland tasting baked goods, and the produce was also small and disappointing.

It also fascinates me that it took 10 years, TEN YEARS! to update the Dyes's website colors from awful maroon and gray to blue/gray color scheme.

Similar Message Boards For Other States/Cities?
For Detroit there is detroityesDOTcom 90% of the forumers are stupid, and the remaining 10% who are intelligent either have been banned for telling the truth, don't post or are too pissed off at the stupid people to post anymore. The premise of the board is to make threads about 150 story towers, Cheesecake factories (which Michigan lacks), and cleverly disguised parking structures. Added bonuses include our very own water tower plaza mall and turning Michigan Central Station into a Casino/Convention Center/Museum/Police Station/International Trading Center/high end luxury condo/tourist attraction-ruin. Be careful. Anything bad you say about "Tha D" will be used against you. Blatantly ignore copyright restrictions and repost articles that say something bad about Detroit. Like if one article were to say that the city has abandoned houses and factories due to a declining a economy, they are LYING!!! Follow up with a summary about a new loft development that stands above all losses, and how the author probably never visited the city. Make posts that are only about good things, because Detroit's social and economic issues are swept under the rug there. After reading through hundreds of lines of incomprehensible dialogue displayed in easy-to-read, massive solid blocks of text, you may decide to become a member. Try to pretend you are actually from the city by referencing Detroit's hip hop culture (like Trick-Trick). DetroitCity58044, Tha_D24523, 8MileRoad, 7MileRoad, 6MileRoad are all acceptable. You blend in with the cluttered user names which all have Detroit in them. As if anyone didn't know you were representing Detroit on a Detroit forum! Finally, be sure to compose a post that makes absolutely no sense, if you state valid facts instead of speculation, people will jump on you and tear you apart because speculation and rumor is far more interesting than boring facts. If you are too intelligent, you may get banned, because no one likes smart people around on message boards. end exaggerated sarcasm

more dog poop hatering
The problem is too many people buy dogs, but don't realize the responsibility that comes with them. That's why shelters are filling up with so many 'returned' animals... especially dogs. Fines are pretty heavy in my hometown. Up to $75. Believe it or not, this how the justified the amount. It's the cost to buy a new pair of shoes to replace the ones that were damaged when someone stepped in the sh!t. I am never going to own a dog, the reason is why is because I know I would be too lazy to take care of it like I should. So me, being a caring person for animals, will not own a dog for the well being of that animal. I don't mind taking care of my neighbor's dog though because they clean up the crap all over the yard when they get home from vacation.

Peanuts Redrawn as Anime
While this isn't a remake (just someones hobby in redrawing the characters for fun), I do think the current Peanuts gang is irrelevant to the interests of today's youth. As sad as that may be, I for some reason think that the development of these drawings into something like a television series would be highly successful. Nothing wrong with the coexistence of both. Besides, I'm not in favor of reviving the Peanuts cartoon with original characters. It's signature work of Charles Shultz, and I'm happier that the series ended on such a high note, remaining popular to the very end. And it should stay that way.

Symbol in NYC building a history mystery
I would have just made the crazy symbol for the hell of it to mess with people. I bet the dude that designed it is laughing in his grave right now. Where is this artifact now? Is it removed from the site or still on the now retrofitted building? But on a serious note, it is kind of cool to leave stuff that might have significance down the road. For example, when my firm renovated an old abandoned structure, we didn't erase or paint over the graffiti on the interior, just walled over it. Someday, many years in the future those walls will be ripped down exposing the graffiti once again, and it might be valuable.

- The Real Reason the Music industry is Suffering
That song on the radio "Make Me Better" had finally gotten into my head so I downloaded it on itunes. Let me just say, HORRIBLE sounding quality. I was playing it on moderately low volume on my $150 headphones, which have always produced beautiful sound out of even the worst of tracks. The bass hits were scratchy. When I turn it up, it's all static. If I play it on my ipod in my truck, it will wreck the 11 year old speakers. That's it, back to downloading music for free (except from artists I actually like, I go to the store)- How long have you been at your company?
2 years at my firm. But I'm going into urban planning now, so I guess goodbye to architecture......unless urban planning doesn't work out. Damn, I'm really stuck, I'm kind of comfortable with architecture right now....... I think my main goals are to work for a bigger company in a more interesting city. Where I work is in the middle of an area where gunshots ring out on a daily basis, and there's nowhere to eat lunch or shop around boarded up buildings. I want to work for a company in Chicago. - The Real Reason the Music industry is Suffering
