Show a pic of yourself!
People still obscure their faces on urbex sites? I remember I did that once, until realized, no authority really gives a crap if people go in abandoned buildings. Here's one I took of me today at work. My second day back working at an architecture firm. It's the real world now. I didn't get a window view this year cause they hired a bunch of new employees that took over my old spot. This was my nice view last year.

At least you all didn't paint your apartments concrete gray like I did.

Starbucks jolts customer
I do agree with Michelle in this article though that the religious dialogue is completely unnecessary. Just focus on making your damn coffee better, instead of trying to put a bunch of statements on their cups. People are bound to disagree with anything you print on the cup, so why do it in the first place?

Chicago - Metra Electric & South Shore - April 24, 2007
I completely agree. The platforms are pretty depressing for the station being so nice. They could start by adding a few more lights.

San Francisco, April 2007
Excellent photos! This one is a classic: The old green and white building to the right has always been one of my favorites. I think it is a landmark building of some sort, but I can't remember the name of it.

Home Types
I lived in the dorms for 3 years for all the same reasons David did. It was some of the greatest years of my life, meeting so many people. The reshall was a beautiful historic building with renovated spacious single rooms. U of M allows you to pick your room, and because of a mixup in the prior year, they allowed me to pick first and I chose the best corner room in the building with sweeping views of campus. Now I live in a house that has been sub-divided into single apartments. The rental company could take much better care of it, but I enjoy it. I live in one of the best locations in Ann Arbor, and the place is pretty spacious. I have to agree that its nice not having to mow grass and take out the trash. I just throw all my garbage out on the fire escape, and then the wind eventually blows the bag onto the ground. It then magically ends up out on the street. To be honest I have no clue who does it. I've never see how the trash gets to the curb, but I have a feeling the rental company pays the homeless people to do it.

Aerial Photos With Remote Control Helicopter?
Uhm yeah, but first get some experience flying it. From the videos I've seen of these things, their flights are bit frantic looking.

How to Frat
I really shouldn't have opened this thread with my black friends in the room. I could have done without hte white people are crazy. Although the girls are pretty hot. You get props on that.

Boston
Excellent. I've never been a fan of Boston's taller buildings, but all the amazing older, more human scaled buildings make up for it. Some incredible architecture.

A New York City Interlude
Excellent photos Chris. Some of these views you don't see too often. I've been to White Plains to visit friends and have been downtown, but I'm not sure if that's the skyline. It looks like what I think is called the City Center building, but I recall there being more buildings around it. It looks so alone in the photograph. I think the city center was also more narrrow. But whatever, I was out there to experience New York, not White Plains.

Where do you live?
I figured I'd revive this thread My friends and I just signed a lease on this glorious 130 year old house in Ann Arbor's 4th ward. We will collectively pay $36,000 for one year in this place. Somehow I feel that's about the cost of the house itself. There will be five of us living here. In Some ways its a downgrade for me, because I currently live alone in apartment and have 350 sq ft of space all to myself, where in this house, my bedroom is only about 110 sq ft, and it's right off the living room. But at least this house was entirely remodeled inside last year and has all the amenities like dishwasher, garbage disposal, and laundry, which my current unit lacks. The outside has fake brick! Now that's classy. The house is farthest structure set back on the block. The street has steep slope, and create a condition where we are the only house with a yard. The other houses next to us get postage stamp sized back yards. I like how my rental company tried to make it look all picturesque by not maintaining the front yard and making this thing look like it was built in the forest or something. The house does have some history to it. It was the structure that housed Ann Arbor's first organized black church. All that history has pretty much been lost since the house has had so many renovations since. The landlord said the only thing original is the structural lumber in the walls.

I'd be willing to take you inside the station. I'm sure you will like it, unlike one certain urbanohio administrator.........

Yeah MCS will probably be around forever. Renovations had actually started on it in the late 90's. Shame it never followed through. The interior does get cleaned up once and a while though for filming movies and stuff. The Island, that Transformers Movie, and some basketball movie (Crossover?) were filmed in this building.
