Strip District proposed in flats???
In <a href="http://www.cleveland.com/editorials/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/opinion/1186735224295500.xml&coll=2">today's PD "Cheers and Jeers"</a>:<blockquote>CHEERS . . . to the Hustler Club and Cleveland city leaders for agreeing to a stripped-down strip club district of two clubs, not three, to occupy less space in the Flats. Other changes include more discreet signs and building facades, beefed up security and parking. <b>As an added twist, tax-increment financing will allow revenue from the district to pay for programs and maintenance to dress up nearby Canal Basin Park.</b></blockquote>Had anybody heard about this previously?

Cleveland: Bob Stark Warehouse District Project
Do you know if footings were sunk in those corners as well? I recall plans by the Stouffer (?) to expand to the west over the Prospect/Superior corner, as well as drawings of a Flatiron-esque 20 story office at Huron/Ontario.

Cleveland: Brownfields Industrial Land Bank
That's just the site that was originally for the Hemisphere development, but is now for the new CMHA HQ. Kinbess is connected to Hemisphere.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
The grey blocks in the map contain multiple parcels. For example, the "F" shaped block alone has about 8 parcels. I think the map includes everything. The HOPE VI project would be two blocks to the east, near or on the corner of Columbus and Abbey. I think, though, that the project has been on hold since Summer '06.

He probably won't be able to acquire that cheaply: I believe that it is without vacancies, and the retail mix has remained relatively stable. As for pictures, Cleveland Memory Project has a few shots, though none directly pointed at the site. I uploaded a few to the gallery, pending approval, but until then, you can find them <a href="http://images.ulib.csuohio.edu/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=/cca&CISOPTR=1001&REC=14">here</a>, <a href="http://images.ulib.csuohio.edu/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=%2Fpress&CISOPTR=844&DMSCALE=100&DMWIDTH=600&DMHEIGHT=600&DMMODE=viewer&DMFULL=1&DMX=0&DMY=0&DMTEXT=ohio%2520city%2520lorain&DMTHUMB=1&REC=2&DMROTATE=0&x=286&y=42">here</a> and <a href="http://images.ulib.csuohio.edu/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=/cca&CISOPTR=754&REC=1">here</a> From about 1940 to 1979, there was no building taller than 3 stories on the corner, and each of those structures appear to be early 20th century vintage.

Strip District proposed in flats???
I think that the concern remains that Center St. remains the District's northern boundary. I'd rather have a larger district, but one that is buffered from the main west bank crossing.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
They're in the midst of data collection, and they've (Flats Oxbow and Jim Boniface) have already interviewed dozens of stakeholders. I think that they're aiming at having the draft plan together by this Autumn.

Cleveland: Calfee Building (Rockwell and East 6th)
If you are speaking of the site directly adjacent to the Celebrezze building (on Lakeside and East 6th), that for an "<a href="http://www.crainscleveland.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061019/FREE/61019006/1008/FREE&Profile=1008">urban forest</a>" that will take the place of the plaza that was previously on the site. It will remain Federal property.
