  1. This is really good news for West Dayton. Hopefully it works better than the Gem City Market.
  2. This is fantastic news for the Dayton area. I was in one of their stores in Tennessee and it was great. It was so busy it took 20 minutes from the time I got on the exit ramp until I got into the store, even though (like the proposed HH one) it was located right off the exit ramp.
  3. More good news for lower Salem Avenue...maybe the Gem City Market is making an impact on the neighborhood. Salem Avenue's reinvention
  4. Fantastic news...there are now 3 hotels under construction or planned for downtown...this, AC by Mendelson's and the Tapestry in the Barcley Building.
  5. I agree. As a UD alumni I am disappointed with what they are doing with the old NCR property. They are turning it all into a suburban office park design. At least OnMain looks like it will be a dense urban style development.
  6. ...and I forgot about the other new one on Webster Street - Little Fish.
  7. They should rename the Water Street/Webster Station District the Brewery District. Dayton Beer Company, Lock 27, Warped Wing and now this.
  8. I hope there will be some ground floor retail/restaurant space.
  9. Another brewpub coming to downtown Dayton: Little Fish Brewery coming to downtown Dayton
  10. They have posted lots of construction photos on their Facebook page.
  11. It would be great if the new Winans added ice cream. I realize they don't make ice cream but it would go nicely with thier candy.
  12. It's amazing to see all the transformation in the Water Street District.
  13. It's really great to see Wright-Dunbar finally get some attention. With this, the Food Hall, the coffee house. etc., I always though West 3rd could be like East 5th in the Oregon District. The next thing that needs to happen is a development with some office workers to provide some activity during the workday.
  14. It's amazing how much downtown Dayton is improving. In the 90's I worked in the building that Miller Valentine just moved into. That area was dead at night time. Great to see it come to life.
  15. Here is a picture of a graphic made of the Dayton area in 1987...hanging on the wall in one my bedrooms. It was part of a series of drawings of cities across the country. Sorry for some glare in the picture.
