Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
Anything...a row of planters with some plants(if there is room), paint, some siding that would match the brown parts of the building, yes it needs something. This is downtown and they really need to pay attention to the small stuff since it will add up and have an effect on the whole area as a neighborhood. This is not some out of the corner place-there is a 19floor classy building coming that will be almost next to this.

Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
See? I even mentioned this last evening-we need a patron Saint Billionaire!(Wexner does not count). Maybe we can 'court" and bat our eyes at some of these higher ups in Dubai, etc.????

Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionSome of that really is just blow-up plastic furniture. And what you did to that word! LOL! I literally cackled. Can you imagine sitting on that stuff and it suddenly and loudly starts deflating like a whoopie cushion?

Well I am not sure about that in particular, but I agree we need a third cultural amenity in that location. And it needs to be big-like COSI big, if at all possible. Those last two parcels that are like wedges at the Southern end should be devoted to it. Now what that would be, who would pay for it, etc. I don't know. That stretch of Washington between Town and Main also needs to be made into a pedestrian promenade, with associated amenities.

Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
They really need to go by urban area. Cleveland, Cincinnati, then Columbus.

Columbus: Random Development and News
Toddguy replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThank Gawd they rejected that melty black and white mess. Glad it was positively received.

Columbus: Merion Village / Southside Developments and News
I know this will be kind of controversial, but had anyone asked the people who need affordable housing about what kind of housing they want...if they care whether or not if it has a more urban or more suburban layout? If they would prefer something more urban, than that would be something to take to the city and the commissioners. I wonder how one would even go about founding/finding out about that information. *I kind of cringe at this question wondering if the poorer residents are just as suburban minded as so many others and would actually want the sea of parking lots.

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
This is a great pic. I have a bit of a fear of heights and it almost seems like I am there looking down. The balconies project but the railing on them seems to tie them in and they don't bother me as it might if they were glass. It looks good and we need more like it. I also love the nice big windows.

Ridiculous Density
Well a big "duh" for me. Need to get these eyes checked.

Columbus: Downtown: The Estrella / 199 E. Rich St
If it looks like the renders, they will have done a masterful job of concealing the parking-almost groundbreakingly good for Columbus.

Columbus: Downtown: The Estrella / 199 E. Rich St
Yeah I realize it is mostly just sentimental wishful thinking. If we get a 30 story tower I will not care one bit about the market lol.

New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
I like the name "Green Chapel". I need to get myself up there and see it myself. Maybe later this week.

New Albany: New Albany International Business Park / Silicon Heartland
When are they going to rename Jug street?

Columbus: Downtown: The Estrella / 199 E. Rich St
I agree. If we want to get to that 40,000, then we can make it work. The east market is not downtown anyway-but I fear DTCL11 is gonna be right and we just won't get a Central Market there.

Columbus: Italian Village: Jeffrey Park Development
Toddguy replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionAnd to think I used to drive by this 40 years ago on the way to OSU when it was called "little Hiroshima" and it looked the part. And here it is now. Glad to see it.

Columbus: OSU Medical Center Expansion
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionLOL! I think if the lines were horizontal it would look awful. I think they did the vertical striping to help "slim" the building because it is quite fat. I also will grudgingly admit that upon looking online at numerous pics from different angles, it does look the worst from the east. Not quite the same effect as coming down 315.

Madison County: Developments and News
Nevermind about the "info" I got regarding that old development. I think it is dead based on clarification received today.

Could Hills open a separate location and have a north end and a south end of downtown location, or is there just not enough demand for that? I am really hoping it is a store and not a market because I really want a return of the Central Market right where it used to be-at the Greyhound site. But that is probably asking too much.

Ridiculous Density
This kind of density is something else, but I would like to see significant green public areas like parks, etc. There does not seem to be enough for me. I think you get rid of individual green space(like grass yards)so you can ever greater density and have collective green space. *These pics are hypnotic I will admit. I wish I knew which pic belonged to which city.

Columbus: Merion Village / Southside Developments and News
Yeah we can do that and still have crappy stuff slip through. This is better than the site sitting idle. And we can not expect perfection so every now and then we just have to let things go and pick our battles as nobody has the time or energy to keep the feet of the developers, commissions, the city, etc. to the fire over every. single. site. I get what you are saying but in the grand scheme of things their are more important sites. *plus I am saving all my anger and tears for the inevitable huge letdown for the Westland site. And don't "come for me" today as I am not in the mood./s Just considering the letdown likely coming with the Westland site has not only ruined my day, but has put me off my food.

Sometimes as much as we would like things to be different we have to take what we can get. Life, urban development, etc. are not fair.

Delaware County: Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThe "transients" thing was also very telling. Plus the "I'm a country girl" thing. I heard that out here the other day. It is code for we don't want people who are not like us coming here from Columbus and contaminating our community.

Columbus: Downtown: The Estrella / 199 E. Rich St
All this trying to count/get nineteen has got that Steely Dan song in my head! lol
-
Columbus: Downtown: The Estrella / 199 E. Rich St
It looks confusing, but the article said the deck area was on the 6th floor. Counting that way I get 19. The lower floors have parking so maybe the exterior look does not match perfectly with what's inside? Not considering the part mentioned in the article about where the 6th floor starts, I count 18 as well. Hopefully that is it?

Predicting The Future
I predict that whatever new technologies develop, they will be mostly used for porn or narcissism.
