  1. There is a special place in heaven for the UO photographers. Photo drops are always appreciated. Especially from those who live a bit far from the action and I am sure for those who may want to keep up but are not in Central Ohio either anymore or right now. Also I assume they have still not started on the office portion? I hope they drop it and build a 20 story residential tower instead. WFH is here to stay why not just keep it residential?
  2. Now I thought we agree we were not going to mention the H tower *cries*. I really miss not getting that beauty-I should have known better than to let myself get all in love with it, just to have my heart broken. lol.
  3. Yeah I know I have some serious trepidation about this. Also they can do it without the full quarter block but it would sure help if they had it. It would not hurt at least. And if Schiff is going to be too conservative then maybe it would be better in an out-of-towner's hands-an out-of-towner with experience and quite deep pockets. All we can do is wait and see. Maybe this 19 floor proposal will encourage him? Who knows-I don't know the man lol. *at least it is not in Schottenstein/affiliate hands. Racing complex, Millennium Tower, whatever...
  4. I really want Schiff to buy out that lone building and have the whole block and give us something 20-30 floors. That is a major intersection on High and would be a perfect place for height and kind of fill the gap in our skyline between the Statehouse area and the local government/judicial area. And right on High with the riverfront just a couple blocks away.
  5. I never knew that little drive had a name. TIL. I wish they would brick it over or something and make it a "pedestrian stroll" when it is not needed for anything else. Being lined with those trees it would be quite pleasant...add some benches, some art, some shrubs and flowers, you know.
  6. Yeah the entire darker part of the building being inset is one saving grace and will likely make a difference. I would still be happier about it if they were partially inset, but it is not that big of a deal.
  7. It's going to be hard to beat the Children's Palace thing lol. The only thing I question are the balconies. I like that they are apparently going with some metal railing rather than glass/whatever, but if they were even partially or halfway inset they would look so much better. I can't help but think of the Kaufman Commons building on it's east and south side. They just jut out there into the void kinda and look awkward to me.
  8. It will look great! Love these renders. I wish we could have a dozen of these scattered about.
  9. Where is Wolfe Drive? Don't tell me they renamed Belle Street?
  10. I would also give you and upvote and a heart for this if it allowed me. Maybe Hills could open a southern branch of their store in the 19 story proposal-which actually looks like it could be something proposed in Austin or Nashville-it is very sharp!
  11. I know it was called the Central Market-but I was hoping for something like that where it used to be-at the Greyhound site. Maybe this place could have an Aldi or Trader Joes and we can get a new old central market in the Greyhound development which you promised us would be 30 floors?/s
  12. We will have plenty of time to speculate about it. And you know we will lol. How big is a typical Trader Joes?
  13. Also I am surprised nobody has mentioned this tidbit of the 19 floor tower news: Now what could fill in 10,000 square feet?
  14. The second one please. And yeah the sign looks like it is for a Childcare center. We could have plenty of these with no parking if we just have one relatively small well-done garage that serves quite a few of them and local business/employee parking. That way some people living here could still have a car, there would be parking for businesses, and the developers would not have to worry about it-and pass the costs on to the residents who don't need parking. Maybe the city could help this along by throwing up(no pun intended) a couple 300-400 space small parking garages?-think of the consolidation/death of a dozen surface lots and how it could spur even more development. Regardless the second rendering looks fine and there are people who really could use micro-apartments. Another nice surprise. And whatever it takes to get the population density up to where downtown is one of the densest and most lively districts in the city.
  15. They could always put a small parking garage now in the 125 by 187.5foot block between Zettler, Cherry, Young, and Main. You know, GFR, and a couple hundred spaces for businesses in the area-and to serve a 30 story tower on the rectangle at the northeast corner of Main and Fourth. The way things are going you never know. *I wonder if we are seeing an "Intel Effect"?
  16. The renderings on CU look great! This should be about as tall as the first north bank condo tower, or very close.
  17. Oh My GAWD! Is it Christmas? Or maybe my birthday!!! Somebody better get drunk celebrating this weekend.
  18. What a nice surprise and a great way to start the weekend. Have a good one everyone!
  19. I was referring to the building on the corner of Columbus Commons-the one they are fearing the worst parts of may find their way somehow into this one.
  20. The original plans were taller and better. I like one half of it-the northwest half-at least.
  21. Oh c'mon it is just a matter of the will of the people! We just have a small cowtown mindset in Cowlumbus. Look At Austin and Nashville. And Austin and Nashville. And Austin, and Nashville....lol
  22. I know it is "only" seven floors, but I would love for this to be on 3rd or 4th so people going back and forth to the airport would see it.
  23. Take your meds Jman-and release him this instant! The men in the white coats with the funny vest will be coming for you if you keep this up.
