Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThose balconies should be inset but I love the juxtaposition of the different colors and materials, and the swooping curves-especially the lower corner one which looks like the bow of a ship-fun and unique for us.

Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI know you would like it higher, but it is so cool I think we can let the height go to another surface lot in this case, right? lol

New Albany: Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThe grass patch just north of this site is in Columbus too. Maybe someone can replicate this first proposal and give us over 800 housing units in a place where we could really use some units.

Big Darby Accord Region: Developments and News
So this 800 unit Galloway project will fill in between existing development and Galloway Road and the railroad tracks and that part will be Galloway East, and then they will also apparently be filling in the field south of the Galloway sports complex and that will be Chase Landings. With the affordable housing area, and the area being built with over 500 units south of and around Columbia Heights church, there are few areas left. -The field south of the tracks between the golf course and what will be Galloway East -the small area just north of the sports complex. -the square area of about 160-200 acres just south of O'harra Estates(El Nora and Tamara drives) and Alton Hall Elementary school. Then that's about if for the far west side south of Broad except for small infill parcels. It will be built out as far as anything with any remote sense of density can be given the Hellbranch Run barrier. The Far West/Southwest Side will be all full. *I do hope they fill in the area south of Tamara Drive-they could solve the drainage/flooding issues there with the adjacent development's drainage and retention system. I am so glad to see the plans finally being put forward. It will benefit nearby businesses and Jesus knows we need more housing. *Has anyone heard of whether or not they ever plan to extend Alton Darby Creek Road south of Broad/40? There is a light there already and a road would effectively divide development from the park space to the west. I always though that extending that south and then having it meet with streets from the west and the east in a traffic roundabout would be a good way of handling traffic in that area once it is developed

Madison County: Developments and News
I was heavily recruited by EST, The Forum, etc (those Werner Earhardt sp?)cults back in the day*80's). I would show up and be so unrelentingly questioning and hostile-trying to convince people to leave, that they basically banned me and left me alone lol.

If it is not a reasonably sane Church I will not go(I don't know which one it is yet). I also have to be in a good mood otherwise...This individual might give me a reason to "go at him" and I would have no problem with that even in a church because I have a problem with authority figures and well, I am just "like that" lol. I am afraid now to look up this "Dwell"...is it a cult...I would never be in a cult-I would rebel and be all "f%$^ this s**t" and get thrown out lol.

I might actually attend a certain church this Sunday just so I can try and get more info from the "certain person" in person-maybe I can pry out some more information.

Big Darby Accord Region: Developments and News
Ah thanks. I knew they had something in the works but I did not realize this was it. 260 units of affordable housing is great for that area. i hope they extend the COTA line out a bit now. And finish the sidewalks, and get the bike lanes extended, and some landscaping in the median like Prairie Township did on it's stretch of 40. So... 800 units on that Galloway development that I did not even know about until today,, 260 here, about 150 homes on the area north of this, and that new development planned for Galloway next to Columbia Heights Church. We are looking at 1500 plus units so far...not since before the recession has the far west side seen this kind of growth-and I am all for it. ok a total of 1,897 housing units for along and south of 40 on the far west side with these. Yes to it all. and bring on more. *I just spent half an hour trying to convince some West Jeff residents about the need for housing and even *gasp* apartments and what a waste these people hate Cbus and regard it as a Christian regards the Devil. And that is whom the want to keep out-Columbusites. .

This is onethe South side of 40, right? Just down from and across from where they build the last apartments? How many will there be?

Big Darby Accord Region: Developments and News
Now how did I miss this? This is huge and I have been wondering when they are going to fill in out to the actual little hamlet of Galloway. Now I know. Also they are building stuff south of 40 just past the recreation center(where everything just ends)and I am not sure what it is? I know they have had different plans for that area between the Park and that subdivision Summerlyn. There is at least one multi-level building up already. I can't tell if they are starting on the home section of the area across Broad as they are doing work on the road but it looks like they may be starting on the housing section of that.

Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionNo there is not and I have not heard anyone mention a plan to add one. Since it is a public walkway I don't see why they can't add one in the middle? It is odd to me as well.

Toddguy replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionIf it is isolated then go for it. They do grow fast and are pretty with the silvery leaves fluttering. None of the problems would apply in your situation. Good luck with it I hope it grows like a damn weed. Also maybe a Poplar would be nice-they grow faster and pretty also.

Hilliard: Developments and News
Well it is not really a big deal-that is close to where Cbus blends into Hilliard. And the name of the road and all.....It used to be Rome-Hilliard Rd. but the state got rid of the pit of hell that engendered incredible amounts of money from a massive amount of traffic violations of any kind called New Rome. May it RIP(rot in perpetuity)

Madison County: Developments and News
Well I kind of knew it but I had never really talked to enough people to confirm it-until now. And there is no problem with people expressing these sentiments in fairly harsh ways. I guess it was not the opposition, but the vehemence of the opposition, that surprised me.

Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThe first one meant the first picture-I was referring to the rendering placement-the new one was the first one. So I was in agreement with you-the new one(what we are getting) is way better IMO

Fertility Rates
This is under the assumption that we want to maintain or increase our population. Given our birth rates if we want to maintain or increase then we need immigration. This is dependent on what most of the nation wants-population loss, population maintenance, or population growth. And yes we want young and skilled(but mostly young) to give us an advantageous population pyramid-we don't want it to become too top heavy with too many retirees and not enough workers, I am not putting AI into the equation at this point as I don't have great information(does anyone?)on what it's impact will be. *And yes, we will always have illegal immigration but we should strive for well educated talented young people emigrating here and yes, that will be a loss for some other nation. We have to look out for our wellbeing first IMO. I hope that is not too selfish. I don't want to see us at the point that China, Japan, South Korea, etc. are at. We don't birth our young workers/children, we import them I guess. *I was also surprised at the number-it was something like 82 million but I also thought it would be much higher. Of course 80 million people moving here within the next five years would be a catastrophe, a disaster for us.

Columbus: Short North Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI like the first one-final approved design-better. * I should have been able to automatically tell because of the elimination of the taller non-residential floors not being in the new design...oh well. I really like it a lot.

Madison County: Developments and News
I heard from someone who spoke with a certain someone in high places that the 1,000 housing units and grocery store along 40 east of 142(housing south of 40, grocery store to the north) is closer to becoming a reality than I thought. This project has stalled for a long time. Also West Jeff does not want any more warehouses closer in, and want to expand towards 42 interchange instead. *I also learned just how many people here are opposed to any new housing at all-and the reason seems to be the same-the community does not want "others" and they don't want "the wrong people" moving here smh.
