  1. Why is this in the Hilliard section when it is the Far West Side/Westland area? Just wondering. And that area is a total mess right now. ugh. But I am glad they are finally developing that patch of land.

I read something somewhere a few months ago that stated over 80 million people, if they could, would move here immediately. We should have more and varied immigration-we are a nation of immigrants. As long as we are not just a shell of our former self, This country will always have plenty of people willing to come here.

Just more of the fascist playbook being adopted. Smh.
  4. I hope you really do not want one. They start out great but are relatively shortlived, the roots are shallow and invasive, and the tree is notorious for splitting in wind storms. They are highly discouraged and I believe many communities have banned them, and I think Cbus might be one of them. *not seeing that they are banned in Cbus but are discouraged. If you plant you need an area that is far from anything that it could fall on. I had one of my neighbors silver maples fall a few years ago-fortunately it was from a strong warm south wind and it fell directly to the north-the only direction it could fall without harming anything. This tree looked healthy and we thought that nothing was wrong with it, but it uprooted whole and came down revealing a damaged partly rotted root system. There are other good maples to plant plus Oaks Zelkova Serrata Katsura Tree Dawn Redwood(needle leave but drops needles-do not need to rake. The list goes on and on.
  5. Make it as glitzy and Vegas-ey as possible. The area there is perfect for over-the-topness and it will really stand out and be fun, and nobody around there will give a s**t what it looks like. Make it bold and sassy!-this is an opportunity to really go full out-again they(the city) will be so desperate they will approve anything. I want the domed tower to come with it! And a rooftop restaurant area. And maybe a rollercoaster.
  6. Whatever it looks like I will welcome it with a warm embrace. This will be big for the Far West Side and it will be a landmark.
  7. No they can be disbursed at different times. What to avoid now is garden centers like Lowes and Home Depot on a nice Saturday in the Spring(never again will I make that mistake!) Can we please not have a recession and put that off until at least 2025?

Well just make sure you get any and all preventative testing based on family history, age, race, sex, certain exposures, etc. You have already been dealing with long Covid and you don't need any other health problems, right? Good luck and I hope your long Covid is gone for good.
  9. You can look at 750 Franklin and see how it would look-the house is identical.
  10. At least they used some cheerful color and lighter stone accent. They don't look dreary and dark like so many do lately. Columbus is one of the cloudiest major cities in the nation-we can lighten up(no pun intended)on the grays, dark blues, and black imo.

Well just to update I have no side effects of the radiation treatment anymore and my penis is still working so far. I did have problems with not being able to control urination for a while. Biggest side effect was a very sudden and severe depression-but I seem to be over that now(Thank God) and am feeling good. They did not tell me that was a possible side effect but depression and fatigue was very strong. They just recently sent me tons of info on survivorship and there are all kinds of support groups and resources. They also sent me a list of side effects expected after radiation and the first ones were depression and fatigue lol. Yeah I can vouch for that. First PSA test is coming up soon. I am very grateful to be feeling better and I love Spring so much-I have been out in my yard already working on things and it feels good to still be among the living. :) *If your PSA doubles in a year's time it is considered "aggressive"-especially if it is running a little high to begin with. My PSA in 18 months went from 1.4(normal is 1-4) to over 10. So it was pretty aggressive and ready to spread outside the Prostate. There is not history of this cancer in my family and I have certainly thanked my doctor for being on top of this and ordering these test-he probably saved my life. Get your screenings, Get a GP and have regular checkups, get a men's health profile blood work done once a year(it does not cost that much). If you have things that run in your family, watch for that stuff showing up. Also if your are black you have a much higher risk of aggressive prostate cancer, and a higher risk of it happening earlier in life. Please get your PSA tested if you are over 40-especially if it runs in the family. Prostate Cancer is the second leading cancer killer of men-don't be a statistic.
  12. I will need to stroll along in front of these myself when they are completely finished. Thanks for the info-I should have realized the were not quite done yet lol.
  13. If only. How do we get rid of them now smh? They are here to stay for decades I am afraid. The best we can hope for is some future "facelift"-and that the facelift(just like with so many people)does not go horribly wrong and we end up with something worse.
  14. I looked at it and came to the same conclusion I just wanted someone to verify it lol thanks. And good catch with the grate. I will hold off on a final grade for these until everything is complete-but the landscaping and the pavement will undoubtably improve the look. Overall this is much better than I anticipated. I thought the bay window sections would be problematic but they are not. Compare this to Columbus Commons. What a difference good design and consistent quality materials make. It is so easy to complain on here, but we need to give praise when it is earned I think. I think it has been earned here, especially coming back after the fire and all. This was an almost perfect response to what to do with that parking lot fronting the park-they really got it right on this one.
  15. I really like it (it is not red brick!)but I do wish it was not so dark...it is a bit brooding...but then again the weather does not help. I also wish they had planted shrubs along the other side of that stretch with the path and all between the other two buildings. landscaping and plants can be so much more human pleasing than just a stretch of grass. They started at the front but did not continue down. The red brick in front of the building does kind of "pop" now compared to the darkness of the building. There is always and upside.
  16. Yes it is not perfect(I think Neighborhood Launch/Gay St. looks a bit better) but It is still really good. It worked out better than I thought it would. And it has had to overcome adversity like burning down and having to rise again like a phoenix. Does anyone know if they are going to brick over the walkway along these? Are they going to put in shrubs/groundcovers etc.? That really helps NL look so good. These things do matter. * I can kind of imagine if these were there 125 or so years ago that the stretch along here would be a popular promenade with ladies pushing old fashioned baby carriages and people strolling to see and be seen along the park(which would have much better access). We really do need more stretches like this that can evoke that imagery-a place nice enough that people would be almost subconsciously drawn to it.
  17. I think they would be better as townhomes. Such a great location-very unique. They will probably do well either way I agree on that as well. *can we have some more of "this" along some other streets or parks in the city? This looks almost as good as Neighborhood Launch-which we also need more of. *They are going to brick over the front walkway, right? That will certainly help. Also when they get the shrubs and groundcovers in it will have that more finished look(I guess because it will be finished lol).
  18. Hmmmph. New Albany will never be an Irvine, or Irving, or even a Reston. So much like the "city"(if you can even call it that)of which it is a satellite, so sub-par and no 30 story towers and the whole place is doomed etc. Just look at Bellevue, WA-we will never have anything like that-a suburb that puts our own downtown to shame! -so Columbus of us. Worst Regards, Jman.
  19. I hate them and these ugly boxes especially. "...Is there anything you need?..." Well yes, there is. I need you to operate out of buildings that are not architectural crap, and basically, to not operate at all. Please get stuffed(and the wine sucked). Also congratulations on your oh-so-welcoming lack of landscaping. These units can best be described as "charmfree".
  20. I wonder what the people in the subdivision that will be surrounded now think? I hope they get bought out. And yes to density they could have room for a whole Easton as it should be done now just with more housing less retail and more like a Bridge Park or something. A nice big dense node that would make it worthwhile to extend a light rail line to from Downtown serving the airport and Easton as well.
  21. Thanks for these pics. The new building will be right there in your face from this viewpoint. And look at how the hospital sticks out. Also I should mention just how nice the hotel looks with the setback and facades saved and how good it is that they took this route.
  22. Well I am sure we agree on much more than we might disagree on lol. You can love the blue one, and I will love the new one!
  23. I was disappointed with the James and also I never really think so much about the connection of them-I view them as separate entities. I am sure I am older so maybe the "dated" look is stirring some misplaced nostalgia?-I don't know. I like it. But again I kind of like those townhouses proposed in Dublin that make everyone one else want to projectile vomit. *looked them over again. I don't think the new tower has a big problem clashing with the James or anything else. I think they go together ok. *If the stripes were horizontal instead of vertical, this building would IMO look horribly dated. I just don't get that look with the vertical striping. The James is inferior to the new building and it is more dated looking itself(blue/gray glass?-groundbreaking!*Miranda eyeroll*) and I dislike it even more than I thought. It looks like a discombobulated weakling next to the new structure. Also the pattern of the facade glass of the James is just downright annoying, like a bad puzzle pattern. JMHO of course. They just differ sometimes.
  24. Carmeltonvillestaniapolisburghlandton. I love mocking the name hahaha.
  25. I despise it as well and I absolutely refuse to use it or acknowledge it's existence. I hope it dies out and is renamed. I dislike it as much as I disliked "Pen West" instead of Astor Park, and I really hated that name. *Now the new hospital tower is great...I disagree with you there. But C******** can please die and be renamed.
