  1. Oooooh we want to hear any and all info about spin-off development. Thanks for the info. Hopefully there will be some news soon.
  2. I agree. Especially in downtown or an in up-and-coming or high profile area, that should be a no-brainer. If whole areas are being redeveloped(and densified)as in Weinland Park, etc., there should not be a tangled mess of wires to for people to have to look at. You would think that if they could not bury it all they could at least streamline it. Some places look almost like favelas in Brazil with so many tangled lines lol.
  3. Good. Perfect place for infill-we need more like this all over the city.
  4. Is this a new building or is this the existing 11 floor residential?
  5. Well lucky you. *envy* lol. That does look like a cool design.

Thanks! Glad you are doing well.

Thank you both for your kind words.
  8. Back in the seventies we joked that those apartments were the "Little Turtle" of the westside-always having major fires. I am glad they were torn down, and glad that the townhouses were mostly saved and renovated. It is nice to see anything being built in the 'Uncool Crescent". Affordable housing is easily right up there near the top when it comes to what is needed.

Well Since I did start this I will update my status at least. My cancer has not metastasized as they thought it might have. I can be cured. I have a minor surgery in 6 days and then start radiation therapy. I am very grateful. My cancer was not quite as aggressive as it appeared fortunately, and several different CAT/PET scans and MRI's along with bone scans cleared me. I wish everyone on the board good health, and again, get your preventative tests and screenings. By ordering that PSA test my doctor may have saved my life.
  10. I was just at a Meijer this week. Better than Kroger, but pricier IMO. I like Aldi. I did not know until recently that I was mispronouncing it (had Lidl right though). I just hope the whole thing comes to fruition. For both towers!
  11. It was big. And wow...the fire was over 18 years ago in September of 2004! It looks like they were still up in 2014 and were planned to be demolished later that year. 17 buildings with 24 units each. They were the 'California' style buildings and they burnt just like they were in a wildfire there. They were known for the large smoky fires that could be seen rising over the far west side.
  12. A small one would be great. What would work? Would a second Hill's work? What chains would be good for the site given the size? They need something as it will be a live/work/play/etc. neighborhood with workers, residents, and visitors alike. They need to have retail and a grocery store would be a good fit. Look at all the units that will be coming both south of this site and north of it across Broad.
  13. With those views it should be at least a 30 floor building. Once we get an 8 floor building, there will be no going back-they need to think big now and for the future and make. it. happen.
  14. The tower is really starting to look massive to me when coming south on 315...at one point it is straight ahead of you and at that point in particular it looks like a behemoth(in a good way). The multi-level buildings going up close to 315 along the OSU stretch are really starting to transform the whole look of the area from 315. A little more and it will look even more like a second CBD with it's own decent skyline. That hotel on the old Battelle parking lot seems so close to the freeway it looks like a car could speed off and crash right into the side or it.
  15. I would really like that 30 plus story tower for the Scioto Peninsula to apply for and get picked for the next round. Turning a surface lot into a 30 story plus tower is pretty transformational, just sayin' and all lol.
  16. I want this built yesterday! Let's go!!!!
  17. They seem to be completing the apartment section of this. No work on the housing part. They should just get the whole thing rezoned for apartments and finish it off-they can add more units total and we need more units. Plus who wants to buy a new house in this part of Prairie Township? With rates like they are now? And Westland High School(as it is now)?
  18. They seem to be working on this now, they are cutting into/clearing the area from Broad and construction stuff is there. Also they are doing something at the Southeast corner of Galloway and Broad-is there an apartment complex planned for there?-i think I saw it somewhere-if so they seem to be moving on that clearing stuff, equipment, etc.
  19. ^^ The whole development used to be called Lincoln Park West, and the area that is now empty was mostly multifamily apartments, sort of like the pic along Hyatt Drive. The only ones left that are not townhouses are those five along Hyatt. The rest were known as burning easily(I remember big fires in the 70's) and the buildings demolished very much align with the border of Prairie Township, which divides the place. All of the units on the Prairie side were demolished. Prairie Township Fire was pissed about the ten deaths on their side with the fire a dozen years ago. They are pretty proactive about fire hazards. There used to be two six floor apartment buildings behind the Giant Eagle at Murray Hill and Broad. They were fire traps, violated codes, and were never allowed to be opened, and had to eventually be demolished. I am sure they will look over these new units like a hawk to make sure they are safe. I am glad they are filling in the empty part-the infrastructure is there, and the need for housing is there as well. I hope this gets built. This will make nearly 950 housing units total within the old Lincoln Park West footprint, which I believe was about 92 acres. *there used to be over 1700 units in Lincoln Park West, and it was pretty nice in the 60's/70's. It was at one time the largest single apartment complex East of the Mississippi. I can remember when it was thriving, pools filled with kids, tennis courts in use, and Westport Rd. lined the whole length with flower beds.
  20. ^^^It looks like they may be working on this if it is on the plot southeast of the intersection of Renner and Alton Darby.
  21. LOL! Truth. And yeah I am not so good with technology either but I always am nice and grateful to the younger tech support people I regularly need after I make a mess of my laptop, phones, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ And also, the Hilltop sure does need help. Does the name itself still bring to mind "insane asylum" or has that died out?

This is what we need. Trump 2024!-as an independent running spitefully against Desantis! He would get the conspiracy/crazy vote for sure.
  23. I agree. The windows are a bit on the small side. It also really does look a bit like the old Neil House.

And this is why it sucks to be an older gay guy in Ohio-too many of these types with no souls. J.D. Vance winning is just another disgrace for our state.
