  1. seems sprawly but just in a different way than 30-50 years ago with a bit more clustered housing and open areas that will probably not get a lot of use. *shrugs*

How likely is there to be a veto override?
  3. So it will look the color of the lower left part that is part of the garage? Yuck.
  4. It's ok I guess IMO. Neither here nor there.
  5. It really does stand out but after going by it a few times you get used to it. We need more infill like this all over the city. There are all kinds of little nooks and crannies not only on the west side but all over that could use something like this. Plus this is right across the street from Kroger and that small shopping plaza so a convenient use of barren land.
  6. LOL! I I read this and the things that went through my head...but I left it alone lol.
  7. I am assuming that along with the rail, there would be infill(commercial and residential)that would make Easton more of an important node in the city than it is now just being a place to buy s**t and eat. I imagine the idea is of it being more like Bridge Park but on a much larger scale and with a lot more there and more variety of uses. I mean it really is just a large mall surrounded by corporate and more retail-it could be so much more.

that 1950 pic captures flytown almost in it's entirety. Now if we could just fill in the newer pic and include a few towers...

Bye bye growing season. I appreciated the tomatoes, squash, and pears. picked the last tomatoes today. See ya next year.
  10. It looks great and makes the other part of the hospital look Sovietesque.
  11. The elevator core is not great, but hopefully won't be as bad as possible due to it serving as a visual break between two separate distinct sections of the facade per rendering, and maybe the strong verticality of it will balance out the blankness(it will make the building appear as three separate taller parts instead of one whole). I admit this is wishful/hopeful thinking on my part.
  12. Yes the building looks good and there is plenty of green setback. They should make sure the hotel is about double the height or more so it can be a local landmark.
  13. ^^ they look a bit on the bland side, like little fortresses. But housing is housing on the West Side.
  14. The elevator core is up and this thing will look bizarre being four floors at that intersection...but bring it on. We. Need. More. Housing
  15. If only. Between general incompetence in putting up an ugly blank facade, and thinking ahead about another high rise building coming downtown and preparing accordingly, I am going with scenario one, unfortunately. I would love to be proven wrong however. *they can't just be leaving it like that, can they?
  16. Too bad about the closing and good for the openings. I like the East Market better than the North-not as crowded and better parking(old person speak I know)plus they have Yellow Brick Pizza! Finally something opens on the West Side(and it is not South Hillard, it is the West Side!). I should try this today if it is not too crowded(I know it will be.)
  17. Actually I have changed my mind about the tower. I did not realize just how much space is left for future development. All of the area north of Broad, and the areas on both sides of Town are in play. There is room for another tower or two on those areas and that would be enough to define the area visually. The map at CU puts in into perspective. I had in my mind for some damn reason that this stage would take up more room than it does. *I also don't hate the tower rendering-kind of looks like a Miranova hybrid with a another building jammed into it. Let's see what we end up getting.
  18. He should get rid of it and let someone else make something of such a prime location. Is Schiff the new Schottenstein?
  19. That is a good point...forgot about TMUD.
  20. I am *almost* ready to get over the High street GF parking just to see this thing getting built. It is going to be like High getting a dental implant where an extraction had long ago left a big. effing. gap. Only a few gaps left now.
  21. Should sell it to the Columbus Ursine Brotherhood.
