  1. How much could the possible idea of "hey Columbus is going to boom with Intel and all, they should be able to get this going on their own with that" hurt the chances of this getting that money(along with the others things mentioned?)
  2. It is huge but it seems that it will "fit in" remarkably well. Maybe because of the existing 20 floor tower already being there? It will certainly be a "statement" building.
  3. these Jenga-ish towers are so damn ugly. Hey let's take a tall box and make it even more ungainly and awkward. I hate them with a passion. Is the World Trade Center Jenga dead for good? Cantilevered box towers are the work of the Devil IMO.
  4. Ugh, so much of that suburban crap in Central Ohio could be redone in some way, like what the did with the old Kroger at Ackerman and Olentangy, or something like that. I need them to sell that site on High in Clintonville as well.
  5. Whenever I look at this development, I can't help but be almost captivated by the parking garages. They just look so good for being parking garages and they should be adopted as the standard minimum for any future stand alone parking garages. I like the buildings, uses, views, plans for taller towers, etc. but I just can't get over those garages. lol.
  6. If they had more mid and high rises downtown then some clusters of 2-3 floor single family homes built like these would be nicer and just add variety. We should be adding both given our growth IMO.
  7. I am ok with them, but they do look a bit like project towers that had a bit of Neuschwanstein Castle thrown in to "dress them up". Awkward.
  8. Hey now I like that. It is great Programmatic architecture. It looks exactly like what was they sold. Unfortunately they went t*ts up and now it is akward but still I like it. This thing though looks awful and it does look very "parking structuresque". Just awful and I agree with the rest of the derision regarding it. *What happened to the giant apple they had? I would want that in my yard lol.
  9. Well they did put up the condo towers around NorthBank...right? I will hope for the best...but yeah I will expect five or six floors max.
  10. Stop! lol. When AARP starts sending you stuff, then you can feel old. I remember when I started getting that stuff(unsolicited). It was...well...unsettling. hahaha. *I bet I am the oldest person on here-especially if we include lifelong Columbusites/Central Ohioans. OT...we need multiple Parkside-on-Pearl projects in many nooks in crannies of the older parts of the city. And I remember the shudder I felt when I learned about the owners of the place being "Suburban Centers". Yikes they need to sell.
  11. It does sort of look like one and now Everytime I see it the word will pop up in my head lol.
  12. They really need some color on this. On a gloomy day-and we have our fair share-going by this on 670 it looks very dark and kinda foreboding to me.
  13. I wish there was a bit more in the way of some brighter colors. Maybe some good ole cbus orange/red brick? But it all looks good and high quality.
  14. The kingsdale building is looking good. Thx for all of the photo updates-always appreciated.
  15. MOAR DEER! I need a run down of where they are at. This one, the one on the bridge, the slutty reclining one, ....I can't remember them all. We need more deer that are nice but cheap imitations of these expensive ass ones. Weren't they like $600,000 dollars plus or something like that?
  16. This is really hurting the city and they need to drop it and let those isolated islands far away from CCS go. What will they do? If they(CCS) threaten to take in all of Columbus huge areas would disincorporate. This is not 1986 anymore and there is enough being built in the older areas and what about charter schools? Win-win needs to go the way of huge shoulder pads, big Aqua netted hair, and brass and glass-in the dustbin of history. JMO.
  17. I really don't have a problem with no real retail inside the development-as long as they can get some more along Fourth. The whole thing is very walkable to Fourth(I think it is all less than a quarter mile or 4 blocks from it). Fourth is the natural commercial street to serve the neighborhood. Now they need to get in there and maximize that. We should really appreciate the transformation. I recall driving by this site so many times 40 years or so ago on the way to OSU when it was a post-apocalyptic area referred to as "Little Hiroshima"-and it looked like it.
  18. True enough. 7 and 9 floors is not bad for this area. And it is the density and walkability and diversity of uses that is really most important anyway. Save the towers for downtown or OSU, Easton etc.
  19. Ok now when are we going to see widespread zoning changes that will help us with not only densifying but with adding affordable housing? The zoning is antiquated and needs amending. JMHO.
  20. Well as long as you indicate that they are rumors and just that...let's hear about them. I wish we would see some 'credible rumors' about dense high rise plans for places like Easton, etc. as well.
  21. This is coming along nicely. I was at Lennox Center yesterday and it did just seem normal to me-progressing well and not really massive or anything. I have already accepted and normalized it's presence and what I really was thinking was "now they need some more towers to go with this..." lol. When completed I think this will look great with the OSU logo on top. The whole area is really sprouting with buildings and it is nice to see it. The area is a little boomtown.
  22. The plans sound good especially preserving the good existing church and historic residence. The pantry, medical clinic, school, etc. all sound good as well as the public art. Let's hope it plays out.
  23. The Peninsula needs some more wanton and vagabond deer to go with the others scattered around down there. Though maybe not costing as much...some discount metal deer. More public art. And that 34 floor tower.
  24. Holy sh*t I can't believe I made that mistake. It has been corrected. I was tired yesterday lol. I stand by the sad :( when referencing it though.
  25. Well there is a little bit of "terrain" by me since I live right by one of the Darby Creeks. There is a nice slope right behind me. And there are Bison in the Darby Creek stretch of parks as well. Though once you get away from the creeks it is pretty much flat corn and soybean fields with some woods and scattered about. Also don't forget the Dawes Arboretum. Buckeye Lake...all kinds of good things out east. West of here is ... Springfield! :( Anyway those more scenic areas should look good to people who may not mind a commute or better yet can work from home. *Is the wifi really that bad out there? How far out are you talking? That area does not look that far from Newark. I have to drive 7 miles to get to a grocery store because this podunk town with 6,000 people in and around it and another 3,000 nearby at"Greater Lake Darby" cannot support anything but a Family Dollar and a Dollar General smh. Where is Kroger! *That Blackhand Gorge! just checked it out on Google- beautiful!
