  1. I'll take 8 fabs for 100 billion dollars, Alex.(I don't know who is currently replacing him-I won't watch it now). 8 will be fine, I think. It sounds like a nice number. Plus everything that will come with them. In fact I think we need another company producing the same things to locate here, just to compete with Intel lol. Do economies of scale apply? Do they cluster like fast food outlets lol.
  2. Well when there is a legitimate need to speak to someone when stuff is really messed up, then what is the go-to phrase now? "I want to speak to your boss"? "I need to speak to someone in charge"? You know, when the person you are talking to or about is being a jerk and something actually needs to be done. If an employee is being rude, abusive, etc. to you or someone else, just who do you ask for? "I just need to speak to someone who is not you, above you in your chain of command, and who is not an a$$hole like you"??? lol
  3. Karen's have ruined if for when people legitimately need to speak to a manager now. smh.
  4. It is really bad and it reminds me of Hilliard-Rome also. It is barely tolerable outside of rush hours. I avoid both of these during rush hours if at all possible.
  5. They need to update that to five fabs 😉
  6. I know they said before they might eventually go up to ten. Is this more like confirmation that five will absolutely be built quickly(and that others might follow eventually?). Either way it is great news. That should mean around 7,500 hundred people working for five fabs. And that would be about 50 billion in investment? Good news.
  7. When they had that original design for that one building in Italian Village along Fifth(can't remember which one but it was one of the first)they had a really nice mix of styles including Mansard and it did not bother me because as you said it was a nice mix. But what was built was quite different of course.
  8. I love how they refer to them(five over one's)as firetraps and then post links to some huge fires that happened when they were under construction and had no working sprinkler systems of course. There is nothing wrong with wanting quality but for too many that is just not what it is about-it is about your last sentence. Reminds me of "Olde Dublin" and the "no transients" thing. Anyone who rents is a 'transient". smh.
  9. Right, there were some bad takes, but not as many as I thought and I agree with the rest of your post. I was just expecting a horror show-I guess I am too used to the facebook takes-it is a different crowd on their than reddit. I guess I will go look for what they are saying on Cesspoolbook.
  10. They left out Merchant Tower and the 30 story thing for the Scioto Peninsula! lol. We need more than 7,000. And where is the housing!!!!
  11. I can't help it-I just hate that mansard type roof on the last pic. It does not look as bad as most of them do though. There are just so many from the 60's and 70's apartment complexes that look so God-awful I just react violently to any of them. Sort of like others do with glass block. Always nice to see more building, more progress though.
  12. Well it was not as bad as I thought it would be. The top comments were in support of it. Now I wonder what they are like on the CU facebook page? lol.
  13. This kind of height/density should have gone up somewhere in Grandview Yard, but not a single building over six floors. Lost opportunity there. Good on Arlington for doing this.
  14. They really should allow this type of thing in any neighborhood that has alley access. But not just with luxury finishes-they should be encouraged to build actually affordable units as well(you know the rents will be high in ritzy neighborhoods.) I live fine in a similar sized space and two people could live in the same space especially if they are a couple.
  15. I wonder what Post Oak Station is like now? I remember 30 years ago it was a damn mess and already deteriorating. I think I remember something about the developer being from out west somewhere and not using appropriate materials? At least it is getting upgraded and is affordable-or is this subsidized? Either way people will have a decent place to live-which is what it is all about.
  16. Glad that it looks to be full steam ahead
  17. Well it is ok to be a bit pissed about the traffic and housing prices(except if you own anywhere near there-then congrats!)...as long as you direct any effort at, ya know, us building more transit or housing of all types(including downtown residential towers, just sayin) which we need, instead of just trying to stop progress, right?
  18. 🎉🎆✨❤️🍾 🤩 Bring on the FABS(all damn ten of them)!!!!! and let the boom begin!!!!!
  19. Really! I need pics, info, rumors, ... anything. Once the bill passes(assuming it does and all) and we know for sure the billions are coming, I think the rest of the "boom" will really start to take place. And we are going to need housing and hopefully some downtown residential towers dammit! lol. Like others have stated, when it comes to this I am greedy and want every. possible. benefit. for Central Ohio!!!
  20. No more politics in this thread other than any new specific info! This is a development thread-take the politics of the bill, etc. and discuss that in the politics section of the forum. So anyway, any news, pics, rumors etc???
  21. It does look much better and has cleaner lines without the black glass mess at the base. Now what about the Third Street glass part? lol. I hope more office towers get a chance to be rehabbed and made into mixed use spaces.
  22. Live in Harmony...Tower? And if the CPT is 900=1000 feet tall they can put a small statue of CC on the top-out of reach of being pulled down...plus maybe it can be part of like a lightning rod so he is getting zapped now and then as punishment for his innumerable sins of the times????
  23. That would be great for that area and East Franklinton. We could also use one for the other side of our downtown across the river. I just wanted to post this so I could discuss us having two sides to our downtown, on either side of the river lol. Just give us a few towers on the west side part and it is done!
  24. Or two. And an urban Target(or something like it), and...well you know. All of the things that would make it a real viable neighborhood for living. *I don't think they really need to fly the coop and put in an Applebee's and all but you know what I mean lol.
