  1. I got all the cities but also sucked on the counties. I accidentally got my own county wrong by not looking close enough lol.
  2. Glass block is so unfairly hated on this forum. Sometimes it can actually work and look good and retro. So many haters lol.

If I was tipping appropriately and that happened to me I would be furious. That is not 'playing a game" it is theft.
  4. There will be 260 condos coming to West Jeff near the High School. Lots of other interesting things going on I just found out. Many things are planned and are being held up because: Developers wanting things too dense(3-4 story apartments)-not going to fly here I am afraid. Residents being NIMBYS even about really nice single family homes that would increase the value of their own homes. smh. A very large development planned for years on hold because a number of developers find the owner too difficult to work with. *There are all kinds of things going on under the radar that I was not aware of, but I got the info from a very reliable(elected)source.
  5. That property was huge, and at least seemed to be about a half mile square. Bigger than what was on the West side like Westinghouse and the GM property-just huge.
  6. Well that is the important part. The main part of the neighborhood is of course quite nice and lovely and we are never really talking about that.
  7. Well we are forgetting the "enjoyability" of the walk. I think German Village could give the Short North a run for it's money because or the quaintness of it. I do think Clintonville could be better with having a much more enjoyable High Corridor, That is the only area that needs any changes really. I don't know what is going on with Indianola actually. But High is the spine of the city and the drop off from Arcadia on up is noticeable and it feels like you are going into a not as nice area. Is that really what Clintonvillians want?-little strip malls and the like? It is not visually attractive at least to me-and this is a premier neighborhood within the old core of Columbus. Do y'all really like it, or is it resistance to change, or what? *I agree Clintonville is way better than most, especially the post war areas of the city. It is just that Clintonville could easily have such a higher score-the developers would be so willing to build they can be kept in check, if you know what I mean-and it could be a big win for Clintonville. It could be walkable and the walk could be ya know, really something else. Something that would make a person almost want to take a stroll along High and all lol.
  8. He did not really say they are equally walkable, or equally unwalkable, just that it can be done. Even Hilliard Rome rd. is walkable, if you don't mind possibly being killed by a car or semi. His point was about the enjoyability of the walk. Hillard Rome rd. would be incredibly unenjoyable, but it could be done. High in Clintonville is not as enjoyable as High in the Short North, but well above Morse rd. when it comes to enjoyable walkability. He clarified what he meant. *I have witnessed poor souls trying to maneuver Hilliard Rome rd. on foot. What a disgrace that stretch is.
  9. Quoted for posterity. lol.
  10. Was downtown and I think it will look great-better even than I had thought. Higher also.
  11. This is a bit troubling. I hope amped91 is right. 20 floors with a taper for the top 5 floors would be great. It did not get any really negative feedback that I recall.
  12. There is a difference between "good and bad" and "reasonable and unreasonable" but obviously there was some miscommunication here so I will not continue this particular discussion. Let's move on to something else-this is going nowhere. At least housing is being built and we need housing-I'm sure we can agree and end the discussion on that positive note.
  13. Now this sounds very promising. Why is this ok here, but not in Dublin -where I got called out? Is the area that different?
  14. I simply think we should be encourage good building practices, and discouraging not so good ones. That's all. It is really not that deep or worthy of this discussion. This is not bad really, it is just that it could be better JMHO that's all. No harm, no foul and all.
  15. I agree this area is ripe for development. Are they finishing out the unbuilt parts of Shannon Green?
  16. Having no incentive does not let them off the hook-not when they are putting up places like Bridge Park a mile or two away. They should know better whether they have to do it the right way for the future or not. Just because there is a housing shortage and they can "fill it up immediately" does not make it ok. And yes I understood what he was trying to say. There was really no need for him to say it though IMO. That was not the point. They should be planning it with a central garage and less parking because there is a shortage and they can cover the costs with the outrageous rents they will charge anyway for that fact and it is Dublin we are talking about here. They could leave some surface parking and even go denser with more units. This ain't Galloway or Canal Winchester we are talking about here. What we don't need in housing is planned obsolescence, and this is verging on that. I could have elaborated a bit in my original response, I was lazy so my bad on that I will admit. *the end.
  17. Proper design for apartment complexes in urban areas.
  18. You would think they would have learned by now.
  19. It says wealthier metros bolded but I don't see any bolded?
  20. This is the truth here. These lists are a hoot.
  21. It would be the death of hope for the west side in general.
  22. That is what I think also...back north in the empty area or on one of those lots towards 33. At least I hope so. If 15-20 floor buildings are being proposed right and left downtown, I am sure Astor Park could handle one or two itself. It is just like an extension of the Arena District and they have done well with 12-20 floors(when they manage to avoid the brick lol.)
  23. I really wish they would rethink the residential part of this and consider maybe a bit more height and a tower somewhere-with all the momentum in the city at the moment and all. Otherwise looking good!
  24. Sorry but Vera looks a bit weird to me. She doesn't seem to know what she wants to be.
