  1. It will look MASSIVE! from 315-I totally agree. And it looks better than what I was expecting which is a shock this being Columbus and all... I just went down 670 through downtown today and the building going on there is making such a big difference. When driving down 315 this thing will be very imposing. Not only does it apparently make The James look tiny, it also makes the twin dunce dormitory towers just north of it look even more ugly lol (and I did not think that was possible).
  2. Wow this looks very tall and not bad at all-it looks better than the first tower. I like the top 'fin' piece-will look great if it is lighted up. The fin also helps in the height department...just sayin' and all. ? *the garage looks good in that rendering as well.
  3. Well of course they will oppose anything that is not a grocery store surrounded by single family homes built of vintage bricks imported from Bavaria itself. It is the nature of the German Villain beast at this point.
  4. That really does not look too bad to me. I wish they would now give us a similar view of the planned hospital addition.
  5. There have been a lot of shootings and killing lately in Cbus. The current homicide count is 80.which is high for just into the first week of August. Many cities are going through worse though-at the beginning of the month, Kansas City was at 119, and Indianapolis was at 138!! Indy has to be headed for a record this year.

OK cool. It does sound like a quaint little town sort of like the "Murder She Wrote" sort of town to me though...tucked away on a little cove along Lake Erie or something. It is a nice coupling of both names. The Ohio/Great Lakes part of that forum has tended to be very winter weather oriented(they love snow storms).
  7. It really would be nice if they get a grocery store of some type. An Aldi or maybe a Giant Eagle Express-the one in Pittsburgh is only 15,000 square feet. Maybe they could expand the retail size to get a small grocery tenant? I think that would actually go along way in quieting the German Villains. This 5 story building could turn out to be a centerpiece of that neighborhood if the design and materials are very good-which I would expect they would be considering it is Pizzuti and they are building right next to German Village. They could build something really extraordinary here. Will just have to wait for the renderings...*fingers crossed*. *As much as I like to poke at the German Villains, Victorian Villains, and ClintonVillains, I do want them to get good quality projects.

This is actually very cool. Scovette? Sounds like a small cool little town. The flowers are very nice as well. I see that it is only 75 degrees there right now. ? *Are you on any weather forums like American Weather Forums? https://www.americanwx.com/bb/

This year is not going to happen. It may start, but it won't finish.
  10. ^^ "a range of seven miles".... ?
  11. They should have proposed something that was at least twice as tall and dense so when they "cave" to the commissions and try to "meet them halfway" they end up getting what they wanted in the first place. Have the developers not learned this yet?
  12. That would actually be good for the retail portion. Would 8,000 square feet be enough? Also I love the responses lol.
  13. Hopefully they go back and keep this part. *sorry I meant this to be an edit of the previous post...new system and all smh.
  14. Isn't this the place where they were going to put the 12 story hotel? Let me check. *edit* from page 4 of the Gay street thread:
  15. I just hate that this(not so old)ugly thing is getting new life with these tax credits. Sorry but these tax credits should go to buildings that really deserve them, not crap built in the 60's that should never have been built in our downtown area to begin with. I despise that row of 60's stuff along Town that looks like it belongs in some 60's aging suburban office park. Thanks to the idiots who brought about the Market-Mohawk demolitions(HATE). *That stuff would be fine in a suburban area or even on the very edge of downtown somewhere, but not in the heart of the city. And to think so many of those planners back then would have done this to the entire downtown if they could have.
  16. LOL! I love it. five floors, 330 residential units! Tough luck German Villains, you don't have any say in it!!!! Considering how they responded to the lower hotel proposal on Livingston, they must be ready to stroke out.
  17. Elbow bump only with corona! ? Well at least a working class family can actually afford to buy a house there.
  18. A really sad one is the atrocity they are continuing to develop between Westland High School and 40. Ugly 3 story boxes to match the general ugliness of that stretch of 40.
  19. With all that parking too bad they can't find a small 110 by 110 foot plot for a Northbank type tower to be the centerpiece of it all. Just saying and all. ?
  20. My father has been at his home since 1959. They hate that even more I guess. It has been paid off for over 30 years.
  21. It is good to see OSU continue with this construction during this pandemic. I agree about the different colored brick next to the (not so great)Edwards building is a good idea and if it matches the brick on the Mershon brick then good-anything to help tie the two sides of the street together in any way is good. *just an idea...but it would be cool if the could find a way to use arches or something to span High like they do in the Short North that would visually tie the two sides together. Maybe something that could be lighted for games, could (at times)have a special OSU theme, etc. It would not have to be arches just like the ones in the Short North either..maybe something a bit different but still cool? They could even have a basic scarlet and gray color scheme-it is the OSU campus and all...
  22. If we can just evict a certain tenant in DC, then Columbus could maybe get a pipeline for immigration going again like it did with the Somalis(second largest Somali population in the US-after Minneapolis). And other Ohio cities could do the same. There are groups of all kinds(including LGBTQ)that are suffering from severe discrimination all over the globe-we need to reach out to them. The 3 C's call themselves sanctuary cities, so why not start offering sanctuary to more than illegals already here?
  23. I love that building and it should be preserved. Is it currently occupied? They let the church just sit unused and rot. We can't let them do the same to this building which adds so much character to the area. I also like the brick rowhouses that are across the street from it.
  24. Great pics and it looks like they should still be able to make a connection to the pathway at the very top of the parking area where the path and the railway are about to meet. Maybe starting at the southwest edge of the little green triangle up there.
  25. Just speculating, but that area north of the stadium and south of the freeway would be an excellent space for a highrise on top of a parking deck. With a ground floor and say six/seven or so levels of parking that would bring the top of the parking deck even to or even a bit above roof of the stadium, providing the open south top of the garage as a perfect outdoor spot with great southern views, a pool deck, bar, etc. while the northern section would be high enough above the freeway that it would not be so problematic noise-wise. Also there would be some nice northern views up to the OSU skyline as well,. Just sayin' and all. They could even use go the Millennial Tower route and have the back and sides of the parking deck as advertising space(also like what was proposed for Harmony Tower). It would be very visible from the freeway and areas to the north. Just sayin' and all... I would rather the area south of the stadium then be lower-but have the line of Park condos extend at least west to the railroad tracks-that way the views of the downtown skyline would still be open from the stadium and all. Sim City Arena West style!
