  2. Well there is the "Columbus Curse" for anything that is 20 floors or over that you always have to consider. lol We have not had a single building built over 100 meters in 29 years! *channeling Jman here*
  3. Well I am not in the know either, but I am not ready to throw in the towel when we get a bit of good news, especially in the middle of an economic meltdown. Arshot was horrible with Millennial Tower, SPARC,-anything involving any Schottenstein makes me very wary at this point. Wasn't it a Schottenstein who threw the fit over the Central Crossing plan in the areas south of Vine and involving "the triangle"?-another flop proposal. *I am less optimistic about the Scioto Peninsula development right now compared to Market Tower though.
  4. But we are not dealing with Arshot are we?(thank Christ) If this was Arshot then I wouldn't think it would have a chance in hell. But with anyone else, we can remain a bit optimistic I think.
  5. This link is great! Sometimes my old @$$ really does love technology lol. That pit is really huge and pretty deep too. Love to see the progress. It gives hope for the future and reminds me that we will get through this current mess and will be able to enjoy things again like our soccer team and new stadium!

The irony of Myles Garrett posting that-they are dragging him more than laughing at OBJ. OBJ better perform well this season(if there is one)so he is not so much known for his various on and off the field "antics". He could get away with that early on but now...not so much.

I witnessed very cool tornadic rotation a few miles south/southeast of West Jefferson! Did not see a funnel cloud or tornado though-view partly blocked by houses. LEO report a touchdown near Lilly Chapel(a few miles south/southeast of West Jefferson)but no damage reports.
  8. ^^ This is what a whole lot more of Easton will look like hopefully-with just a lot more residential in the mix.
  9. Too bad. It was a nice little old building.
  10. Do you think they have any chance of salvaging the building(from what we can tell?)
  11. If there was ongoing construction in that area of the building then I would suspect that was a causative factor. Fortunately nobody was injured, but I have a feeling the whole building is a goner now. Yes I believe you are correct about the West Jeff building. It suffered much more damage than this building and also fortunately nobody was injured seriously especially given that it was occupied. It is now a grass lot. ?
  12. Looks like something you might see after an earthquake rather than a windy thunderstorm. Reminds me of the building in West Jeff(where my dentist was)that just fell into Main street(40).
  13. This. That house looks stunning. I can't believe it may be torn down. Can't they just add an addition for a damn new kitchen? Work with the historical property instead of demo'ing it?
  14. But it's hard to follow and all when there are no other tall buildings coming like this in Ohio to speculate about lol. But we hear ya.
  15. I think this was inevitable, but still unfortunate. I worked there selling men's clothing way back in the early 80's when going to school.
  16. True enough. Most everything in this height and square footage range is either a box, something that is not a box but is ugly as sin(jenga, that "spiral" crap, pointless unsightly angularity, etc) , or wayyy too expensive. Just have to hope the SW people pull a rabbit out of the hat or something(or put more $$$ into the signature building equation.) Ohio does not need another tall ugly building-the Rhodes Tower here in CBUS is enough for the state for all time.
  17. Yeah but they are pretty much just glass boxes, right? I am looking for something a bit different. Which ones are not just boxes? Any of them?
  18. I was looking at that block 185 project in Austin. Right height and size with a radical design(maybe too squat for this site and I don't know the cost)but the outside the box thinking on it is good. Maybe something like that but sleeker. And it does have the outdoor terraces and is a great design(Pelli and I bet it is costing a lot.) That kind of design is very standout and it could hold it's own against taller competition.
  19. I would hope that if it does not get an actual spire then it at least has a nicely tiered top. A flattop building will not look as good or blend in as well in that particular location IMO. I really like that one I posted from Boston...but yeah 1.3 billion....uh.... *still looking around for more examples*
  20. Your nemesis: a sleek chilly flattop glass box(what is NOT needed): https://www.block162.com/
  21. Well that does not mean that something "similar" could not be built in Cleveland for less, right? *yeah 1.3 billion is a bit much! Yikes! A design "like" that would really stand out and hold it's own.
  22. I really like it too. Cleveland should try and steal it! lol. Hopefully it will at least be something that is like this- literally out of the box.
  23. While this is residential, the height is good(with maybe one more tier)and it looks kind of like a collection of paint cans a bit.. *actually it would be about right with over 500,000 square feet of office with 200 apartments https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=241605 I like the outdoor terraces and the great possibilities for exterior lighting displays with the tiers and all. I think it needs a bit more top taper.
  24. ^^ Construction costs in NYC and SF are going to be wayyy higher also than anyplace in Cleveland-I bet you will get much more for your money. *Now my quarantined bored %%s is going to go searching for buildings between 550-650 feet and with 500,000 to 1 million square feet of space costing between 250-300 million lol. This proposal has a nice height and has a nice design/massing: https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=241069
  25. Hahahaha! I love it! Also this kind of development is exactly the kind the city needs in some of the older suburbanish areas where old dying or dead(or soon to be dead ? )retail and commercial places with extensive acreage-often much of it devoted to surface parking -are located.
