The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
Maybe it is because OSU is undefeated and number 2 in the country...while the Browns..well... ? And if people want to bitch about Cleveland.com then maybe they should start a thread about that and leave it out of this thread. So typical of people from outside of Cbus to come into a thread about something based in/related to/etc. Cbus and start bitching. Take it elsewhere for Christ's sake. If it is an issue it is a Cleveland issue...this is just an excuse to come into this thread and start trashing the Buckeyes and their fans...so transparent. Nobody on this site is willing to stand up to the Urban Ohio "Cleveland Mafia" which dominates every damn thing and God forbid anything good relates to anything outside of NE OHIO! ? *I can just imagine the outrage if I went into The Browns thread and bitched about how much coverage they were getting/not getting in the(admittedly awful)Dispatch. smh. *yeah I know I am being an @sshole and there really needs to be an @sshole emoji! LOL!

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
I am just so glad we won despite the turnovers(it was getting scary)and that Fields is apparently not hurt at all. Damn that was a terrible few moments...winning plus last home game plus senior day plus HUGE relief over Fields equals storming of field/crazed fans*. Xichigan gets a thumbs up! lol. *alcohol and all of course. Now to find some games to RELAX!!! to and enjoy without any heartstopping moments. *huge sigh of relief*

Ohio Migration
I can't remember where I watched it but I did see something about many people not being able to buy homes now(not really anything new of course). And yeah supply has a big thing to do with that...also with younger people HUGE student loan debt that was unheard of back in the day really. And so much of the new housing that is built seems to be upper income level housing. Hell we are not even getting the apartments built in the number we need them at least in Central Ohio.

Hope Justin Fields is completely ok...heartstopping few moments there. On to TTUN!

Cleveland Browns Discussion
This is really getting ugly. Why would Garrett not report a racial slur immediately-and to the general media, the public, etc.? Are there any witnesses, any evidence? If not this(particularly the timing)is just a bad look. I don't know what to think...but the timing of it all looks very fishy. JMHO. smh ☹️

Columbus: Downtown: The Reach on Goodale / White Castle HQ
It would be nice to see something like just the top section built.

Dublin: Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionWhat exactly in the fresh hell is this? Guess I am off to google. *edit* OK this looks like some bulls##t right here...there is no such thing for anything other than farmhouse style houses or actual urban farming. What is next, "urban wilderness"? I want to see how they get all of that in 13 acres and make it look anything farm like or "farm style". *and yeah include some residential in your urban farm. Leave it for a director of development to think of "farm" but not have anyone living there smh.

^ That spiral slide reminds me of some kind of chute for trash that would end up in an incinerator. ? I would want to see where it ended first! Makes me think of Veruca/Willy Wonka and all.

Columbus: Olentangy River Road Developments
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction^^ Seeing that pic reminded me of the proposals/speculation regarding the Kohl's area behind this new construction. Anyone know of whatever came of that? That building and the huge parking lots around it look ripe for at least a six floor mixed use development-just looking at the pic it looks like that big parcel is just waiting to grow taller to match the things around it. It is not like anyone could complain about height since it abuts a property with a 15 story building on it. Great location for a highrise development imo...good location, right next to the river, right by access to 315 and all... I have always liked that little highrise cluster of The Canterbury(is it still named that?)and the hospital everytime I went along by it on 315. *Plus I would like another highrise right next to Clintonville so they could seethe but it would be out of their NIMBY reaches.

Madison County: Developments and News
These things are huge. They are just south of 40 roughly across from the Ace Warehouse. There is another one just as big as the back one that is north of 40 south of the Target Distribution Center(I think that is the Pizzuti one and these are from the Dallas developer.) I wonder how many people are usually employed in these things given they are roughly 800,000 square feet? The construction dust and dirt that would blow onto 40 would be like a dust storm at times with lots of traffic. They have also dug up and are working on an area just west of these, but I don't know what is planned for that area. This area has also been annexed into the village of West Jefferson which is not shown on google maps. Also not shown is that a large area on both sides of 142 from 40 to 70 has been annexed as well(including the Battelle Property). They are in the process of annexing around 400 acres southeast of 40 and 142 for the planned development there as well. They have now pushed west along 40 from Downtown West Jefferson to nearly halfway to Lafayette/route 42.

Columbus: Harrison West / Dennison Place Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThis is way too similar to the Uncommon. If they must do something like this, can't they do something similar to what they are doing with the hotel on Park downtown and having the new building recessed a bit to keep the facades and maintain some kind of continuity and interest with the street given the old building frontage on High/intersection of HIgh and King? The original proposal saved the King side...couldn't they make that work even if only a setback of ten or twenty feet? And yeah what is up with the southeast corner of this on High? ? Not to mention the part along King. This thing is much more massive and bulky looking than the original proposal...and only 48 feet lower-with the height distributed all around it with much less variation..smh. You just know they are going to cheap-out on the materials too and it will show. With all of the setbacks large and small on this I would actually prefer if this was built in brick. I also have to blame the community for not wanting to get with the program and realize that compromises need to be made and the development needs are getting greater and greater given the economic and population growth of the region-and this is the heart of the growth on our main commercial street. Is this sort of a "throw up your hands in frustration" slap in the face from the developer? *On a good note-good for the parking being underground! That is one thing that is right. Put it down there if at all possible. *on a different note...what is up with the comment section of CU? Glad I don't post there anymore...it seems very toxic and antagonistic there.

Columbus: German Village / Schumacher Place Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThis really is needed. I would love to see something like this proposed for the old Big Bear site lol. Or right along HIgh-just out of reach of the GV Commission. The howls of outrage would be heard all the way to Cleveland! *And organize every organization that represents low income/subsidized housing/etc to have round the clock protesting! hahaha I would join it!

Columbus: German Village / Schumacher Place Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction^^ This really looks good-especially considering what is there now. They need to just approve this and override the damn commission if necessary. The city needs to send a message to some of these commissions that with a growing city there needs to be some reasonableness and at least some sense of cooperation on their part. This is NOT going to "irrevocably alter the historic fabric of the neighborhood" or anything even close the that. If the neighborhood commissions are going to be this obviously unreasonable then the city just needs to call it out and override.

Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
Toddguy replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionWell it is Nationwide so we know it is going to be on the conservative side. It is not bad at all, but it is nothing to get excited about either. This is Nationwide we are talking about! lol Yeah why not just make the garage taller(slap some brick on the exposed side if needed to help disguise it) and build in more density with the added height of the apartments. At least go five or six floors...but again this is conservative Nationwide. The only thing that really helps is that about 30.000 square feet on the first floor could possibly have more retail than office?-would make it more mixed use at least. Does the article mention how many parking spaces the garage will hold? How many floors it will be? 25 million for the whole thing seems on the low side of construction costs for 132,000 square feet of office(and possible retail), 150 apartments and a parkling garage. *I dont have access to that site and am not going to pay that much to access it.,

2 new airports coming to Ohio?
Please don't use "Columbus" when you mean the statehouse/state government and then don't use Boston, Hartford, etc. for the other states, but instead actually name the STATE instead as it should be. Columbus is a city, the state government based there is just that-the state government. thanks.

Toddguy replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThe 150 apartments and using up the entire block with mixed uses(office, residential and possible retail) is a good thing.

Thread Closures / Locked Issues & Questions
^^ Thanks for the reply. Usually it is very obvious why a thread was locked, but sometimes a thread seems ok and then you come back to it and it is locked and you are thinking wth happened? Maybe some cleanup of the thread has already occurred as you mentioned. Also I am on different boards and they respond differently so part of the question was just that..some explain, some over explain and are like schoolmarms with rulers, others just act and the thread is closed. just wondering and all Not a big deal and thanks for the response.

Thread Closures / Locked Issues & Questions
It's all good..no problem. It was just a question that arose from one thread(which is open again)so it is not big deal for me. *internet hand shake*

Thread Closures / Locked Issues & Questions
Because sometimes it is not that apparent that "the thread has gotten off topic" ok? Especially if posts have been removed and that is not noted either. And If it matters to me I don't have to explain that to you, ok? Thanks. If you had read what I had posted, you would see it is not always the case that it all boils down to one easy explanation. And if a specific reason is given, posters who are not familiar with what may have happened can be sure to NOT do the thing that got the thread closed. I don't know why you felt the need to come in and jump all over my comment? Especially since the comment was obviously directed for a MOD to respond to, which you are clearly not. *edit* Hey I am just a member here it is not a democracy and if no mods want to provide any explanation I am fine with that, no problem..I don't mind them not answering if they don't mind my asking the question. It really is not that big of a deal to cause any friction with anyone. It's all good between me and anyone else here at this point.

Thread Closures / Locked Issues & Questions
I am not asking for the reason, I am asking for why the reason is not given when the thread is closed. Like the Sherwin Williams thread. It just said it was closed. No reason was given. Why not "this thread is closed because of XYZ" instead of just "this thread is closed? If a thread is closed by a mod there must be a reason, I just don't get why the reason isn't given? Maybe it is given on some threads..I just wonder why it is not just a policy or something. Examples.. This thread is now closed because of... Rampant city vs city comments Too many off topic discussions Too much rampant speculation with no new news Too many personal attacks etc. etc. ??? I really was surprised the Sherwin Williams thread was closed, and I don't know why it was closed because it was not stated.

Thread Closures / Locked Issues & Questions
If a thread is locked, can there at least be a general explanatory statement about why the thread was locked? I went to look at the latest for the Cleveland Sherwin Williams HQ and the thread is locked with no explanation. What is up?-it did not look like it was going off the rails...so why is it locked? A simple explanation besides 'this thread is locked" would be nice. I did not see that thread going off topic or going awry in any significant way?

Columbus: Italian Village: Jeffrey Park Development
Toddguy replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionAbsolutely agree. Wrap them in residential(at least on the street side/prominent sides and/or build residential on top or have a green amenity roof for the top instead of just more rooftop parking. If we have to have them(and this is Cbus so for now we kind of do)they should be done right!

Columbus: Italian Village: Jeffrey Park Development
Toddguy replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThis! They had a ton of pics but none of them were of the actual buildng except for the one which showed it in the background which we have seen before. How frustrating!-and it makes me suspicious of what they are really planning there. And yes it does look a bit on the dark and foreboding side(from the one far off render we have seen of it.) It should be well done since it will be very visible. There seems to be a lack of transparency or it is too early in the process to reveal more detained info maybe? *the good thing presented was the little map which shows just how much they seem to have utilized the whole Jeffrey Park space pretty close up to the freeway.

Madison County: Developments and News
Well go ahead and post it in the Circleville/Pickaway County Development Thread so it will be in there. *edit* I am interested in what is going on in all of Central Ohio along with the more urban development in the "core' of the city.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
It does really seem to be ridiculous. Any other regular student, no problem. The NCAA really needs to get it's head out of it's a## in regards to petty stuff like this(if indeed this is all it is.)
