  1. I completely agree. As long as they stay in Cleveland and build downtown it will be a great win for the city. If it has an iconic highrise, then great...if it is a broader campus(hopefully built with the streetscape in mind)then great. As long as they stay and build downtown this is a win for Cleveland!(and a loss for any greedy sunbelt city that wanted to swipe SW-go OHIO!) *and yeah I am a skyscraper geek but filling in many blocks of surface parking with a well done campus style development in the CBD will be great as well.

What a disappointment. They should have won that game, and instead...ugh...and the Jermaine Whitehead thing just make it uglier. I think I am learning what it is to be a Browns fan. sigh. On to next week!

I will be watching and rooting for them.

Yeah I was just going on looks from the pics. I admit I don't know about the rest. Also yeah the courtyards look less like courtyards and more like light wells-on the small side. Still looks attractive from the air. That Barcelona pic looks particularly claustrophobic to me. Is that close to any open green areas or parks?

That Paris density view looks beautiful to me.
  6. I don't think it has a good side, just bad, and worse.
  7. Hahaha...good! Did you write one about the Nicholas and send that to Edwards? That was such a prime location! Just like I feel that Main and HIgh is such a prime location. Also the one parcel fronting Bicentennial Park needs something big-and not just a six floor match to what is next door-that parcel was supposed to be the second phase of that and be a highrise, and it still needs to be that IMO. *six floors along High street downtown is an abomination and totally out of sync with the city plans for height along High(among other areas).
  8. I believe it had problems and then the great recession killed it. The old brick buildings part(second image)is already redeveloped.
  9. I wish the city would annex a bit more land in the far northeast/New Albany area and also a bit more in the corridor between Hilliard and Dublin. At least Cbus is filling in that corridor with pretty dense development compared to most suburban areas. I also would not mind a bit more annexation in the southeastern areas near Canal Winchester. I know it is in the "uncool crescent" and all, but I don't get what is holding up development in the area around/south of that Shannon Green development? It is not that far out from downtown really and they could annex around and consolidate that area. Plus it is not in Cbus city schools, and I think those unicorporated areas around it would get developed much denser if they were in Cbus. Of course all of this will hopefully coincide with filling in other parts already annexed, replacing strip centers(Golden Bear in UA, The strip along Olentangy and Ackerman where the tiny old Kroger is, etc..that kind of thing but spreading to more of these strip malls), filling in brownfields, etc.
  10. I would like some sort of interactive museum, multi-function art facility, or something like that which would appeal to a wide range of people and have some interactive parts to engage people along with great architecture(to match the new Vets), good interaction with the river, and outdoor space facing the river that would incorporate with some retail/restaurants in the facility. Some thing that would talk to and speak back to Bicentennial Park in some way and encourage cross river interaction. What kind of thing is possible for this site given the city and the current state of the movers and shakers within the city? Can Wexner step up again, somebody else? Is an Aquarium possible at this location? I was underwhelmed with the earlier zoo proposal-I felt it did not go far enough in scale and scope and was a bit too limited given this very important site.
  11. If we want to discuss/speculate on what should/could go onto that triangle of land on the southeast corner of the site, should we do it here, or start a separate thread? Thanks.

Well I am getting ready to watch The Voice. I love John Legend as a judge. Hopefully another non-country singer will win this season, just like last season, when the actual best singer(shockingly)won. maelyn was the best. *almost all broadcast tv is crap I know. *what a crappy episode!
  13. I know the 2010 projection was off-it was too low. Do you(or does anyone)recall what the projection was compared to what the census showed? I can't remember how far off it was-I just remember that (for us)it was too low.

  20. Do you think they will bump up the 892,000 or whatever it was as a base? That seems to have been the trend lately for us.
  21. It will take me over 1,000 posts to reach a new tower-and I am not exactly a fan of that one so I guess I am stuck with the ugly Rhodes Tower. Hopefully I will reach Terminal Tower status at some point How come "no general" is listed for cbussoccer? Can I get that instead of the Rhodes Tower? Have I mentioned lately how extremely well moderated the board is, and how much we owe the administrators for such a wonderful site celebrating Ohio?

^^ That pic would look so much better with a substantial highrise on the corner of State and Third. Just sayin' and great pic.
  23. Also Columbus City Schools are not going to enforce the win/win agreement from what I remember reading-meaning that areas that were annexed and undeveloped perhaps because they were going to be in Cbus city schools might now get developed since they would be in "better" school districts. Does anyone think this may help fill in some of the annexed areas that have not been developed yet? *Not sure if I heard that thing about win/win involving previously annexed areas or newly annexed areas though.
  24. So when does Columbus actually pass 915,000? Will it be 2019 or 2020?
