New York City: Developments and News
What I want to see completed is the 1066 foot building on Dekalb in Brooklyn. And it is not just super luxury(with over 500 units) so maybe the uber condo market softening won't matter(if we don't have another one of those bad things that begins with an "r" and all.)

Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
It is our tallest, one of the most ugly if not the most ugly, and it is named after a total and complete...well...let's just say major jerk to be on the safe side. *I also do not like that I am a "Rhodes Tower" right now...How many posts to advance to the next building anyone? mods?

Columbus: Downtown: RiverSouth Developments and News
Toddguy replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI believe that is the one that was supposed to be 11 floors and then got cut. And yeah, that blank wall will show(but maybe it would be a prime space for a mural/art-trying not to be accused of being a downer and all lol.) There was major disappointment at the reduction.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
C"mon now...don't lump us all together like this-if a few posters from out of the area are trolling then call them out please instead of bringing entire cities into this...thanks. Most of us(Cinci and Cbus people) are rooting for Cleveland here-only fools would not. And I really hope that this is built in downtown Cleveland and does NOT go to a Charlotte or Atlanta-keep Ohio Businesses in Ohio!

Is This How The End Begins?
Looks like a Terminator prototype. smh.

Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
I have no idea. I hope we at least get some of the jobs here as opposed to the other alternative cities listed. We will just have to see how things develop.

Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
Unfortunately I doubt it as they are still going to build a 1400 foot plus skyscraper on Park Avenue. https://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=232215&page=73 The article confirms they are still building the new headquarters building in NYC. Hopefully we get some of those jobs leaving though-just hope they are not in Delaware County.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Can't believe that they are only down by ten. I admit I was feeling bad for Chubb but when Mayfield handed it off to the Patriots I actually laughed..sorry.

The rain has me nervous. It is usually a good thing if I suffer a lot before the games, though. Just the way it is.

Columbus: Downtown: Highpoint / Columbus Commons
I did not know there was this sort of "a step up" version of Dollar General. It does make a difference I guess. I just cannot stand the regular Dollar General stores. Maybe this will work in that space if there is a need for it.

Ridiculous Density
^^ Thanks! And not really what I expected. Dhaka does not look as dense as it is.

Ridiculous Density
This thread needs some aerial pics of Seoul and Dhaka. Or maybe one of those Bangladeshi or Indian trains jammed full of people inside, outside, on the top, etc. -now that is density.

How many posts does one need to move up from being a "Rhodes Tower"? I despise that building and the bumpkin it is named after.

Geography
Completely unrelated to anything posted yet...Upper Michigan needs to become it's own state. *and I also have a nice old globe in a walnut stand that is about 35 years old. Still has the old Soviet Union on it and everything. Got it as an Xmas gift before there was the internet and all. Gawd I am old.

Delaware County: Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionYou have to think about why does high density development tick off constituents? Classism is still a strong force in society just like racism is. There is a reason Columbus is one of the most economically segregated larger metros in the country. I don't think you can underestimate the "keeping them out" mindset in upper income suburban areas in southern Delaware County and in certain areas of Franklin County. Sure some people are sincere when they complain about increased congestion, etc. but there is also a lot of insincerity as well. Too bad Columbus stopped it's annexation because at least the city of Columbus would have some say in this sprawl. I wonder if the area around Polaris in Columbus has the highest density in Delaware County?

Delaware County: Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionMaking central Delaware City more urban certainly is a good thing, and if there can be some Dublin Bridge Street type projects in Delaware County would be great, but there are bigger issues of sprawl and I have a feeling that many, many areas want large lots to specifically economically screen out "undesirable" residents.

Delaware County: Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI think the discussion is about the county as a whole though. And it is more about lot sizes really and mixed use developments than actual urban developments in Delaware City or downtown proper, which would just be a drop of urbanity in the sea of sprawl that would be the rest of Delaware County. *at least parts of Evans Farm are a step in the right direction.

Tiny Houses
You just talked about how they are cost prohibitive in places like Cincinnati, because of topography, narrow lots, and irregular lots. That was what I was responding to anyway(yeah I know you did not quote me or @ me or anything but just saying anyway.) *ok maybe it was not you talking about the topography but just the other two.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
I am a bit nervous considering the Badgers lost and are going to be really pissed off and yeah they are a worthy opponent-that is why I am nervous already as we head into the nitty gritty part of the season. I almost wish they had won coming.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
So what do people think of the upcoming match between OSU and Wisconsin?
-
Tiny Houses
I will admit in my posts I was thinking more of here in Cbus so you would have less challenges with topography and really narrow lot sizes. Would Sears type "kit houses" in the form of small homes or apartments built over garages be too far out for Columbus with flatter land and wider lots or is that type of thing just still too cost prohibitive? I guess the great recession really killed the supply of construction workers smh.
