NYC: Hudson Yards
I hate to say it, but the top tier of The Vessel appears to be an ideal place for suicides.

Favorite Music At The Moment?
Some interesting kid stuff: This show was hilarious! They had this performance down! Better than the original! lol. This child was SEVEN years old! damn. No singing lessons, learned from just listening and watching youtube videos smh. She has plenty of good stuff out-now that she is at the ripe old age of ...eleven.

Columbus: Short North Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI think some are ok, others..well... I have learned to look at the author-some tend to have a disturbing knack for being very fast and loose with "facts" in the articles.

NYC: Hudson Yards
Tell me more about the Jetsons-looking building in the front. All it needs is to be on very tall stilts and it would fit right in the show. I like Hudson Yards-such a good idea to develop this over all those tracks.

Columbus: Downtown: Hilton Columbus Downtown Tower II
I liked the video of the building, but like so many of these and renders, the people...lol. They were all white-looking and not one obese person- this is Columbus after all..c'mon! lol.

Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
This cluster of 3 buildings(this, and the Normandy and the Neilston)will have close to FIVE HUNDRED units-just in those three buildings. We need these to start extending east down Long. Time for a new(and with some affordable/workforce/student housing)Neighborhood Launch.

Generic Infill Architecture
It is sad that some others make these look almost alright. The hotel trying to look like six separate(ugly)buildings in the link I looked at makes these look "ok" by comparison. I think the last one you posted is the least offensive of them.

Columbus: Short North Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI agree...aside from the forums-there were just as many "not so quality" posters as quality ones. But yes, these forums do well for Cbus here and we should do our best to keep it that way.

City Data Forums
Skyscraperpage seems to have entered a death spiral, unfortunately. There is way way less traffic there than there used to be. Way too many p#ssing matches that go on ever and anon between members, say like Crawford and The North One. They just go back and forth in threads for page after page...it gets tiresome.

Columbus: Short North Developments and News
Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI think part of it is that CU has a broader base than Urban Ohio, or other places, and there are people there who are very anti-urban and will make that known. Do you remember how people got on the forums there?-they had to close them because there were too many people causing trouble.

Generic Infill Architecture
That is a good article. And they do go overboard with the complexity as illustrated in the examples shown. I guess those are examples of too much of a good thing and are just overdone when a bit of restraint was needed. Some of the first ones were just God-awful ugly and looked cheap as well.

Columbus: Near East Side / King-Lincoln / Olde Towne East Developments and News
Toddguy replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI would love to see the Long street development downtown (Neilston , Normandy and the new big building about to be built across from them)extend east on both sides and right into KLB. That would really help connect the areas and really give a boost to KLB. A lot of the area in between could include student housing as well. We need to develop our main corridors with density. We need to replicate at least some kind of version(if somewhat watered down)of High in the Short North on some of these corridors. Heck start on both ends and build towards eachother until the development meets in the middle.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I think it is great that OBJ is coming to Cleveland. Great player if he stays healthy and keeps the drama outside of the sport. He brings a bit of star quality and will bring some shine to Cleveland-he is known as more than an athlete and really is sort of a celebrity and has a large non-sports related following. Minus any injuries and on field/locker room drama, he will be a great asset to Cleveland and the state. Ohio needs some star quality.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
God I hate this building-it looks like it is being blown over by a very high wind. Yuck. Unique does not equal attractive.

Does anyone post over there? And if so, how can you stand it? That place is just a mess. I am not a member but I can barely stand perusing the site. So much idiocy and such. What do you think of that site?

Toddguy replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI cannot express enough how I would like to see some kind of boutique hotel/condo/apartment highrise on that 60 space north parking lot on Goodale. *sigh*

Thanks...duh...I should have realized that given the previous pics.. nevermind lol. It is looking pretty good then.

Columbus: Downtown: Millennial Tower
I know the office is about 150,000 square feet out of the 400,000 square feet. And the included parking plus being close by the public garage will help. They really just need to get that office tenant. I am really wanting this to get built now. After looking at the newest iteration it is not that bad really. https://elfordrealty.com/property/millennial-tower/ http://images1.loopnet.com/d2/sz-Q7MvQp9j3Vu-6-Q86QZaf_ywgmTXTRRyrkEK9H1Q/document.pdf From the stacking plan on the second link I counted a height of 404 feet. *the parking levels are listed as 14 feet floor to floor...isn't that kind of high for parking?

Columbus: Downtown: Millennial Tower
^ Dammit why did you take away my post on the costs? lol. Anyway, I realized that this building is going to be 400,000 square feet instead of 750,000 square feet(can't remember where I saw that) so 150 million construction costs seem much more reasonable at around 375 dollars a square foot, which also makes me feel better about this project coming to fruition. *pruning the wrong branch..smh.. ?

Columbus: Downtown: Millennial Tower
I don't know if you are speaking directly about the Millennial Tower or the old NuCLEus project in Cleveland, but the Millennial Tower, while a bit ungainly, is not a Jenga tower. It is more of a column that has had the top parts cut back a bit-but none of the upper parts extend outward outside the base column so it is not a Jenga tower imo.
