He's an expat Akron Beacon Journal guy. Perhaps he's one of the seven people from Northeast Ohio that believe there's actually an Akron-Cleveland rivalry lol. I saw an interview with him recently. I think I remember that he said he had a place in NY, but also, he said he never was able to sell his condo in Cleveland. My guess is he "lives" elsewhere, but will be in Cleveland so much he keeps his condo.
  3. I use a MacBook Pro and Nikon Transfer to download pics to my computer. I just insert the SD card directly into the computer and select the option to delete the pics from the SD card upon transfer. For some reason when I reinsert the SD card into my computer the pics will show that they are on the card but when I put the card in the camera it says its a blank card. Anyone ever have this happen to them?
  4. Yes, very nice. I was at the one on Lee road yesterday and they are in the process of updating the finishes. They put in a faux white brick background behind the coffer bar, new tables, lights, floor, etc. I haven't been to the one on Coventry lately, but I think the finishes are consistent.

Paul Pierce only played half of that season. If I recall, the biggest Boston homer of em all, Bill Simmons, was calling for Doc to be fired before KG and Allen showed up. They did and they were good. Not saying Doc had nothing to do with it, just saying a mediocre coach can coach superstars pretty easily.
  6. I got a chance to see a few areas of Phase 2 today, mostly the rooftop and future corner alley space.
  7. Sorry to hear that - it's my sister's joint. I think you caught them between lunch and dinner on saturdays. Incidentally, they told me they had a great week! Although, someone did steal their Ohio City Pride flag, the jerks!! I hung out last night at a friend's house in Cleveland Heights who were hosting one of the Russian athletes. A bunch of Russian and a couple french were there. It sounds like overall everyone had a good experience, although one guy told me on the bus he was called fag, which made me upset and I did my best to explain to him that wasn't indicative of the majority of us Clevelanders.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Do%20you%20even%20lift%20bro%3F Do you even lift bro? Male greeting. Used most often among a group in a chat room. Depending on the answer, the person will be judged to be "in" or "out". This is normally followed by an extended boasting session. However, the boasting is reversed and as a person is accepted into the group, a tall tale is told about them. Cyborg walks into a room and says "Hey everyone" Nova responds with "Hey Bro" Cyborg say "Do you even lift bro?" Adabear says "I lifted your mom last night, does that count?" **Now accepted as part of the group** Cyborg says "Adabear is so big he once lifted the ocean, just cause he dropped his sunglasses while Jetskiing!" After appropriate laughter, this continues as a greting
  9. So they've already started? I kid, I kid. I love my tribe. Renovations look great. Can't wait to see them next year.
  10. Fun fact, they just decided to move the bullpens this week to prevent erratic throws from pitchers warming up landing on the field.
  11. Yeah, the no PMI thing is a nice feature. I'm redoing the entire kitchen from scratch, so I need the renovation mortgage.

Any reason I can't add a photo as an attachment to a post? Do I HAVE to upload it to flicker or other site? I tried to attach a pic from both my phone and computer as attachment to post and it won't let me. Edit - figured it out - max size is 200 KB - can we increase this to maybe 1 MB? Or will that take too much space?
  13. ^ Nice Ram! Did you have to redo the entire plumbing or just a portion? I may have to do some plumbing as well - hopefully I won't need to replumb the entire house! I won't know until the water is turned on. Did you do a HomePath Renovation Mortage? My inspector said my electrical was a mess so I have to upgrade the panels and some wiring. Currently the house only has 50 amp service. Here's the only pic I have right now. The kitchen is on the right which is where I may look to do an addition.
  14. I've edited the mobile home page accordingly. Very nice! Thanks, looks great!
  15. Yeah, it looks nice, but I'd prefer not to have to scroll down. I don't know about everyone else, but unless I am looking for a particular thread, I generally look at the recent forum replies on the homepage. If I see a thread I read I click, if not, I move onto another page. I'd prefer the recent forum replies to just show up when I go, without having to scroll down. Just some constructive criticism, thanks for the efforts!
  16. That was my initial plan - I wanted to open wall to dining room and put an island in, but it turns out there is a brick chimney going through that will end up being in the way - I still plan to expose the chimney though as that will be a nice feature.

Not a website, but Microsoft MapPoint lets you do drivetime, but I don't think they do walktime.
  18. Good to know thanks. I guess I just need to get some contractors out. I need one of those HGTV shows to do it for me for free! ha!
  19. I will certainly hire a licensed and insured contractor and know that I will need to go before Architectural Board of Review. I don't anticipate any issues with that process.
  20. More information is needed. Depends on what your city will allow you to do. The existing foundation. Where the footers are. What kind of materials your going to use. There are a lot of variables. I'll say $35k off the top of my head. Cleveland Heights. It's about a foot or two off the ground, so I assume I'd put down a concrete slab and the expansion would be above a small crawl space. Not sure about materials. Cinder blocks for the sides? Exterior would be finished to match with wood plank siding.
  21. I'm buying a new house and it needs a new kitchen. I'm buying it from Fannie Mae and using a special loan that let's me wrap up to $35k of improvements into the loan. I have to paint the house, but besides that I want to put a new kitchen in. It's not the biggest kitchen, so my dad thinks I should expand the house by like 4-6 feet to have more room. Anyone here ever expand a house? How costly could this be?

Do we have a general house rehab thread? I.e. For people to discuss home improvements and fixing up houses? I thought there was one but can't seem to find it.

Watch Fargo - it was awesome. And for those that have Time Warner (not sure about other providers), you can watch it all for free on the channel "Entertainment on Demand" - channel 1402 in Cleveland.
