Frozen pipe to my kitchen sink here. i have a space heater in the crawl space below but nothing yet. My dog just spent 30 minutes in the back yard before I could convince her to come back in - but she's a mountain dog, so I guess she's bred for the cold.

I wasn't aware. Is the thought process that it will save $$ on road repairs in the long run due to the damage that salt causes to concrete? From CH website: "Why doesn’t the city salt the side streets? A: Secondary and residential streets are plowed, but not salted. The cost to salt the residential streets is in excess of an additional $250,000 per winter. In addition, the road salt has a negative environmental effect and reduces the longevity of the road surface." http://www.clevelandheights.com/index.aspx?page=1071

Also - With 60 inch HDTVs, to many it is simply more enjoyable to watch at home. I know it is for me. Instead of spending probably $100 to just get in for noesbleeds not to mention parking, I'd rather be in the comfort of my home (instead of zero degree weather), drink a $10 6-pack (instead of $10 for one beer), and be able to see the game in hi-def and see replays, etc. Personally, I'd rather have some friends over for much cheaper and much more comfort. Easy for me to say though, the Browns will never make the playoffs. ....

What kind of camera is everyone using?
Wow - it sure is. I'm using a Nikon D7000, but I've also been thinking of going full frame. I might get a D610.

I heard New Belgium (Fort Collins, CO) and Deschutes (Bend, OR) are both coming very soon to Ohio. Both welcome additions.

Photo Licensing / Use
I know many of you guys have licensed some of your photos. I had the following posted on my blog today. In theory I don't have an issue with a CDC using one of my pics as long as they don't profit off of it but I'm not giving them rights to the photo if I say they can use it am I? KP SMITH: Please let us know today if we may use one of your beautiful Moreland Theater photos for print with a Buckeye Shaker Square Development Corporation story about the reuse of the Moreland. Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
Was this movie filming in Cleveland Heights today? Something major was happening in a house on Compton when I drove by. Lots of equipment...tons of big lights and people and trailers and all the windows were covered from the outside (very interesting the way things were being done cause it looked like the filiming was being done inside the house). And with all this commotion the neighbors were all out just raking leaves. Also the street was not blocked or anything...just one cop car keeping watch. Yeah - it's that movie. I'm friends with the homeowner. I think they've been filming there for about 2 weeks.

Well by far the biggest challenge for me has been lack of parking in the neighborhood. I think the spaces would have been leased out long ago if there was better parking. Looks like one of my spaces is leased - it won't be long term and will be an office use. I should be able to disclose in about a week. Ha, thanks. I wasn't too keen on putting my name on a building. Kind of egotistical but the person I was working with at the city suggested the original building owners name and mine. I couldn't think of something better so I went with it. And yes, all new brickwork.

I completed renovated the storefronts of a building I own on Cedar Road. I'm talking to two potential tenants, so fingers crossed they will be lease soon. Before: After: Also, this building across the street just sold. It sold for $500,000. It previously sold for $1.2m in 2007. I heard someone from NY bought it.- Clevelands unused / abandoned commercial buildings

Severance Towne Center consists of 53.06 acres and they are paying $2.2m per year in property taxes. Not sure how that compares to the other business districts. 53.06 acres sounds low. Are you including the parking lots and outparcels? Keep in mind, most of "Severance" isnt just Severance Town Center. Theres three high rise apartment buildings, city hall, banks, the Coral housing development, the Post Office, Time Warner, the medical office tower, Kaiser, and a church EDIT: and that one office building turned condos That's everything that is owned by the ownership group that has the main retail (and associated parking). It wouldn't include out parcels like the apartments, city hall, time warner, church (old athletic club), post office, former baker's square, etc.- Cleveland Heights: Development and News

Nice I got tickets to the Wild Card and ALDS Game 1 the same way. Hopefully they make it :) I got my wildcard tickets too. Can you imagine that? THat would be insane. A do or die baseball game for your season. Unfortunately I'm gonna be out of town for work for the wild card game so I didn't get those. I did also get ALDS game 2 tix. Now we just need to make it!- Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Another factor is the sheer # of games in baseball. 81 home games is just so so many. The indians actual draw total seat attendance numbers much higher than the cavs and browns. Of course it's easy for the Browns to sell out games, they only have 8 games a year!! Here are 2012 attendance numbers: Indians: 1,450,812 Cavs: 663,882 Browns: 533,058- Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Just picked up ALDS Game 1 tickets if we make it!!! (Progressive employee presale). - Cleveland Heights: Development and News
