http://www.noaca.org/trafficcounts.html 22850 go down Richmond per day. Surprisingly, it does not have Cedar at that intersection. 31260 use Cedar Hill every day.
  2. Love the GF! I will definitely be there some point this weekend. Maybe Sat. If so, I will have to guess who Mrs. Hts is. I grew up on Compton (the side St the church is on the corner of) and used to get paid when I was a kid to empty the trash at the festival.

University Square has shown itself to be a failure. I don't see anyone lining up to do that type of development.

You too! What is the other rumor? Don't tease rumors and not tell them! Anyone know how many acres that adjacent land owner has and what he paid for them with the intent to build homes?

I don't care unless they have some ulterior plan to sell it for retail development a decade from now. I think I know what you're getting at, I read about it in the comments section of the article, and it doesn't concern me one bit. What matters to me is that green space>retail, particularly in that part of the county. What are you getting at? I do wonder if owners of Legacy and Beachwood Mall tossed a few donations to the conservation fund as those two certainly would not want this developed.

It seems like the city had their shot with a proposal, but must have thought developers would make the best offers without their involvement. It also seems like this proposal, despite a higher offer price, has a number of conditions that must be met, which is why it seemed that the conservation proposal was viewed favorably - they were willing to take it as is. Those are pretty standard conditions and my guess is the club is already aware of title history and if there is the potential for an environmental concerns, so this may not be an issue to them if they don't expect the due diligence to turn up an issues.

this thing is looking pretty good
  8. I'm not looking to trash talk (no pun intended) SH. I like SH, I really do (well, except their commercial districts). While I am sure CH has more crime than SH, CH has a tremendous police department and has a very large force. Luckily, I have not had to call the police before, but I have not heard concerns about response times. As to the schools, yes, SH are a bit better, but those are primarily funded by property taxes anyway. Regardless, we both pay a ton of $ to live where we choose, both in income (since I work outside CH, as most CH residents do) and property taxes.
  9. Backyard trash pickup. Duh. Haha. Fair enough!
  10. I don't mean this to be snide at all, but what "high standards and quality of life" do you have in SH that I do not have in CH?

Yeah, I'm with you on the mountain bike. I ride a Raleigh mountain bike. I'd like something lighter, but I won't buy a road bike, I need to get a hybrid. Roads are terrible. I ride around some roads in Cleveland Heights and it's like a minefield. I'd be crashing left and right if I was on a road bike.

Why do people think Beachwood Place is struggling? I'm not much of a mall shopper, but they do seem to have a pretty high occupancy when I got there. I could give two shits about the Container Store, but sign me up on bringing an REI to Cleveland.

This is pretty huge if this goes through - a conservation group putting up $15m?!?! I'm sure the Oakwood opponents are pretty upset this group didn't step in for them.
  14. Yes - it is the W & S building. I noticed that work as well.

OK - I admit it. I don't wait for red lights. I slow down and if there is no cross traffic, I go. When walking, I also cross the street outside of crosswalks and even at crosswalks when the light is red.

I've never lived in a montlack building - but I lived on the 3rd floor in a building on lennox and at times it would get so hot in the dead of winter I would crack windows. I also never had a/c and just relied on box fans.
  19. Yeah WOW is such an awesome event. The crowd is very diverse and chill. I've never seen any problems down there - it's just a bunch of families relaxing. Plus - it's nice that you can bring your own food and alcohol. Last week was super packed - I've never seen it that packed. Can't wait to be down there tonight!

You have to pay - when I last lived there it was $30 per month. I'd say it is safe - as long as you don't leave things like ipods out in the open. It's well lit. I never had one issue and I parked there for about 5 years. If you have a permit, you can leave your car there for as long as you want.

Check out the Cedar/Fairmount neighborhood in Cleveland Heights. It is safe and very close to Case. You will likely have to park in a city lot, but you could basically walk to work. I lived on Lennox Road for many years and it is a great neighborhood. I'm not sure about specific buildings but if you are in town, you can drive the streets and you will see for rent signs. I moved out about 3 years ago, but at the time I was paying $650 for a 1 BR.

it's like the supreme court said about indecency (i think it was the supreme court) - I know it when I see it.

I'd assume you are going to live on Superior Park if you are parking in a lot. I think overall the area is safe, but it does abut some skechier areas as Hts121 pointed out. As long as you don't leave things like GPS, ipod, etc. in plain view in your car, I think it should be fine, but break-ins do happen. I know they recently formed a neighborhood association - http://heightsobserver.org/read/2012/03/20/where-heroes-dwell-a-neighborhood-association-in-the-heights
