Cleveland.com's new homepage redesign
It's the exact same format as other sites that use the same company for page design - http://www.oregonlive.com/ This tells me all the "asking for feedback" will fall on deaf ears. The PD probably didn't even have much if any input into the design at all.

Cleveland.com's new homepage redesign
That screenshot is not how it displays on my screen. The menu bars/ads take up about 40% of my screen. I literally can only see 4 headlines when I go to the page without scrolling down. Awful. It's made for blind people.

Cleveland.com's new homepage redesign
Ugh. Is the font big enough? It's like it is made for blind people. I personally like the old format with lots of links on the front page so I can scan all the headlines and click the ones I want. That's why I like msnbc.com (now nbcnews.com). Now I will have to search around the site much more, which I don't like.

Criticism and Compliments of Cincinnati Based Real Estate LLC's?
It is not uncommon for a property to be in the name of an LLC and the owner does business under a different name. You can go to Ohio Secretary of State website and do a business search of the LLC. It will tell you the address of the LLC and that statutory agent.

Cleveland: Comic Book Hall of Fame
I don't think this has much legs. So he trademarked the name. Big whoop. Invested $7,000??? That's nothing compared to what something like this would actually cost. They have 203 comic books? I am sure any decent collector has at least that many. I agree - more than an email to the mayor would make sense. I 100% agree with the comment in the article that he can only do this if the major comic companies supported it and it doesn't sound like he has their backing yet. And yeah, why wouldn't this announcement have been made at comic-con last week when it could have really made a splash? I'm not saying it's not a good idea, but just because someone has a trademark/200 comic books/$7000 invested doesn't mean they can pull it off.

Detroit Superior Bridge
Thanks all. It is a pretty neat spot to check out. I saw it a few years back when they had Ingenuity on it. They really need to do something with this and soon! How about a lowline akin to NYC's highline? That would be pretty cool.

If we can get a 1st round pick to go with it I am fine with it. Sounds like we have the cap space.

Places you are traveling to
Check and call NCDOT beforehand. We took the Cedar Island - Ocracoke Island Ferry ($15 and 2 1/4 hours) which was fine, but found out AFTER we got on the island and to the next ferry on NC 12 that the Hatteras Island to Ocracoke Island Ferry had been out for days. We raced back (and was pulled over for speeding - 70 in a 55 - but they were nice about it and waived the fine and called ahead to the Cedar Island ferry) and took the LAST ferry that left the island that evening - at 4 PM. We would have been screwed otherwise - there were no hotel rooms available, and quite a few people were stuck on the island because there was no signage, posting on their web-site, or anything that the Hatteras Island ferry was out. Hmm - good to know. I have never taken any of the ferries but I am going to a different part this time. Ususally we go up north to Duck/Corolla and I would take the bridge way up north. I did once take the bridge at Manteo. This time we are going to Hatteras and I will be going to the OBX via Asheville and the directions seem to have me go through Manteo. Do you know if there is a ferry that I can take from the mainland to Hatteras that would save me time if I didn't go through Manteo?
