Cleveland ships.
Does anyone know what happened to this ship? I believe it is named "The Goodtime". There is a kick-ass painting of Cleveland in the 1930s that shows this boat docked and full of people at the port of Cleveland. The painting is currently in the window of the Bonfoey Gallery on Euclid. It was originally the "City of Detroit II" built in 1889 and operated by the Detroit & Cleveland Steamship Line. The Cleveland & Buffalo Line bought it, rebuilt it and renamed it the "Goodtime" using it for passenger excursions and moonlight rides on the Cleveland-Cedar Point and Put-in-Bay runs in the 1920s. The Goodtime was sold for salvage in the early 1940s. From my understanding, it sat at this location in the Cuyahoga River for nearly 40 years. Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
Thanks for the feedback Rob, I liked how my front year had a perfect sheet of snow and how this post and the vines just rose up out of it. Here is another I took the same night.

STICKY: How do I post pix?
Can Flickr be used to post pics here on UO? I would prefer to use Flickr over Photobucket and would prefer not to upload pics to both sites.

Well, we have our first tenant signed to a lease - Jimmy John's will take half of the Euclid frontage. In the meantime, the first floor new storefront glass is in. This is the second floor space, windows in the back of the building. This was a cinder block wall and we had the windows put in for the extra light.

Business Relocating to Cleveland - Need Space
I just sent you a PM (I think, let me know if you did not receive it). I highly recommend having representation. Signing a lease or buying property is a complex transaction and it only benefits to have representation (not to mention that landlords and sellers pay commission, not tenants and buyers). I can't tell you how many times I have seen a lease and just by looking at it could tell that the tenant did not have representation.

Cleveland urban exploration
Does anyone know some other buildings that are prime for some urban exploration? I'm not really looking to commit a B&E so a building that has a fence long since trampled over or doors long since removed would be preferred.

yup, not too get on a tangent on PETA, but they are publicity whores. Anytime they can find a way to inject themselves into a situation, no matter how ridiculous, they do it. In my opinion, they turn off people like me by doing these ridiculous things. I am all for animal rights, but I will never support an organization that calls for a robotic groundhog (or any of the other asinine demands they make).

would it make you feel better if they replaced Phil with a robot as those wackos at PETA have suggested?

Well, I finally got to take pictures of the same building as Zach's pictures, at E 55th and Carnegie. Here are a few, I have more on my blog http://borncirca1979.blogspot.com/- Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
Grog Shop- Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
I believe it will house mechanicals and controls for lights, irrigation, etc. My first thought was that it should not be right on Euclid, but I think they were going for something with mass along the sidewalk (hence the archway next to the building), so that the plaza is not a gap among the row of buildings.- Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Well, I was at the site today, but forgot to bring my camera to get pictures of the new storefronts, but they are looking good. Here is a plan for the plaza/walkway which will replace 1910 Euclid.- Pet Peeves!
Oh I see (and I can figure out PITA - definitely not a sandwich)- Pet Peeves!
I'm looking at the context and still can't figure out what OTOH means.- South Euclid: Cedar Center
Can't speak to how much interest there is in CH office, but there are really only three office buildings in CH - Severance Medical Building, building at Mayfield and Lee, and the Medusa building. The Mayfield/Lee building and Medusa building are both definitely class C and from what I know, probably don't have high occupancy rates. The majority of office space is 2nd floor office in the retail districts. The Cedar/Fairmount office space tends to have higher rental rates and lower vacancies. Probably the biggest issue with office development is lack of highway access, so you are much more likely to have local, smaller businesses in the available space. As far as developing new office, there is no land (unless you want to develop Oakwood Country Club, but there won't be that much demand for it). If the Top of the Hill is ever developed, my guess is there would be a second floor office component. FYI - office above retail is not typically known as Class A office space. - Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
