Columbus Gets "Walk/Don't Walk" Signs With Timers
I think there were a couple of those countdown crossing signals installed on the OSU campus within the past few years. (Along with a few on Neil near the medical center that featured a monotone voice repeating "THE WALK LIGHT ACROSS NEIL AVENUE IS NOW ON.")

Hennen's ranks Ohio libraries highly
That's great news for Ohio! Our 3 biggest cities in the top 10? I hope the state can use this to promote... something.

Facebook
Facebook is ok but I actually prefer Myspace now - guess I'm in the minority here. Facebook is just a little like obsessively spying on everyone in your dorm... especially with the way they report every change you make on your front page now. Myspace is annoying with its ads and spam, but more of my friends use it (those not affiliated with any school, plus relatives, etc. - it's more inclusive), my favorite bands have profiles and blogs there, and you can just do more with it in general.

Is this a Cincinnati insult?
I'm from Fairfield and I went to OSU mainly because the bulk of the college-bound students in my class were headed for Miami and UC, and I wanted something different. I think only about 8 out of a class of 500+ ended up at OSU with me. (Of course a few scattered to random colleges across the country.) I love the point about the Cincinnati/Texas Kentucky/Mexico connection

Is this a Cincinnati insult?
As far as I can tell you're right, Atlas. I was really surprised when I started attending OSU (having grown up in Greater Cincinnati) how big and lively Columbus was, because I couldn't recall hearing about the city or OSU when I lived at home. And it goes the other way too - at school we did not hear much news from Cincinnati. So in a way it is like Cincinnati is not so much part of the rest of Ohio.

Cincinnati: City-County Merger, Annexation, and Local Government Structures
I think this would be a great idea. Seems that the city vs. county tug of war is a huge part of what holds Cincinnati back. Everybody needs to get on the same page.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
THANK YOU! It's awesome to wake up on a Saturday morning to the sound of "OH!" "IO!" all up and down High Street. I am really missing that Columbus game-day atmosphere this year. Even worse, I have to work during the game! I'll miss the whole thing. I'm seeing entirely too much Michigan praise in this thread, come on, this is UrbanOHIO! :x What's wrong with you guys? :? Support the team from Ohio! :whip: On a related note, I noticed a disproportionately large amount of Michigan fans in Columbus when I lived there... but I soon realized most of those were probably just turning to the other side out of pure spite and resentment about OSU's dominance in the city. Some people think it's cool to stand out that way I guess... move to Michigan if you love it so much, I say! I think it's going to be a great game, but Ohio State will win!
