What got you so damn interested in cities in the first place?
Clearly you had the Michigan version. I think it mighta been the Southwestern U.S. version. I'll call it a toss up ^^ My start involved 1. roadway network drawings and easy memorization 2. a lot of walking 3. viewing other cities and nations, especially Europe and Asia

BET.com ranks Columbus as 2nd best city for Black Americans, Cleveland the worst
The entries start out with the same base stats like education levels and income, but yes there are omissions in particular entries especially when their ranking is explained in detail. I take this whole thing with understandable reservation but there should be some thought provoking discussion about miniority issues in major cities.

Skylines Combined--Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati =)
QFT and bumped for great justice! ;p Nice work Murray. I would suggest making a version with your own ideas in it as well. Change a few more buildings here, adjust a few locations there or put in stuff you'd wanna see in your skyline.. You don't have to do it, I'm just saying you might find it fun to do.

Toledo: Random Development and News
Oregon new special-needs school hinges on vote of council Toledo Blade, 3/1/07 It's now up to Oregon City Council to decide whether a school for special-needs students should be built off South Wheeling Street. The Oregon Planning Commission decided last week to recommend that council grant a special-use permit to allow the school to locate on about 4.5 acres in the northern section of the 19.5-acre site owned by the Lutheran Homes Society. The vote was 4-0. Member Mike White was absent. The site is now classified as multifamily residential zoning, and the school would be at 175 South Wheeling. The facility would be managed by LHS Family and Youth Services Inc., a subsidiary of the Lutheran Homes Society, based in Toledo, said Harry Blackmon, executive director.

I'm right there with you. It doesnt help matters when I hear or read about people or politicians trying to dissolve any light-rail or public transit projects and proposals. Yet, these same people have the one track chant of "MORE ROADS, MORE CARS; MORE ROADS, MORE CARS". I still cant see how these people miss the fact that their current system and train of thought is ludicrous, the damn thing doesnt even work. /sigh... =/ Maybe I'll do what noozer says and step back a bit. I'm getting a bit irritated over the current state of things. /breaktime.- Other States: Passenger Rail News
No worries. We won't even have that option in 5 or 6 years, once the Highway Trust Fund goes broke. LMAO! You, I like. :)- Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
I'm actually sold on most of the routes in the image. I also think Dayton should not be skipped in a Cincy>Detroit line. Perhaps, we could implement a triangle route of Cincy>Dayton>Columbus, rinse repeat. Or something larger, say Cincy>Indy>Dayton>Columbus>Louisville>Lexington, rinse-repeat. ;p I'm also just curious as to why there is no 275/beltway route. Maybe it is excessive, but I believe the alternative transit along the route should be considered. KJP and Jmeck, your thoughts?- Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
whatever. I'm not 3 hours away from the destination, road conditions / traffic sucks. now are you STILL gonna say "don't live 3 hours from your job"? or must i post it even simpler than that. -_- Anyways I don't have time for your crap Pope. Never did. I'm just gonna drop it and continue with some of the better things in this thread.- Other States: Passenger Rail News
Yea... instead lets pony up money to 20 lane highways and bridges to nowhere. Sounds swell. -_-- Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Reread post please. In LOCKED traffic. Meaning, traffic jams and too many cars on the freeway. Thanks to those delays it took 3 hours. Sure I also took other routes, but a lot of them were just as clogged as the freeways.- A Weekend in the Windy City!
GG (Good Going) :) It looks like you had a good time. Wish I was there.- Now This is Green Building!!!

Just get me a nice intracontinental high-speed rail system. And if you can, please put in some decent intrastate systems too, so I can spare myself the 3 hour lockup on the freeways each day. -_-- Forest Park: Forest Fair Mall / Cincinnati Mills Redevelopment
