Same question. The indoor national title doesn’t seem to carry the “NCAA” label. Maybe the indoor was some sort of invite only of the top teams nationwide and CWRU happened to win it?- Cleveland: Slavic Village: Development and News

Case Western makes SportsCenter Top 10 on way to ITA Indoors title Arthur Kapetanakis | March 02, 2022 The Case Western University men's tennis team won the 2022 ITA Division III National Team Indoor Championships in style on Sunday. Not only did the top-seeded Spartans defeat the University of Chicago, 5-1, to earn their first ITA Indoors title, they also made SportsCenter's Top 10 plays thanks to a sensational volley winner from freshman standout James Hopper. (Watch the stunning shot below.) The Cleveland-based host school got off to a strong start in the final with a 3-0 lead after doubles play, before closing the match out on the singles courts. It was at the No. 1 doubles spot where Hopper's spinning volley lit up the Mayfield Village Racquet Club. Case Western Reserve poses with their ITA title. Photo courtesy of the ITA. The shot earned the No. 2 spot on Sunday's SportsCenter Top 10, and helped Popper and teammate Jonathan Powell earn an 8-7 victory at the top spot. https://www.usta.com/en/home/stay-current/national/case-western-reserve-men-s-tennis-makes-sportscenter-top-10-on-w.html- Case Western Reserve University Spartans Athletics Discussion
^ CWRU is now dancing in the NCAA DIII playoffs...first time in school history. From Terry Pluto: On to Oshkosh! Record-setting Case Western Reserve team still has tests to pass – Terry Pluto Updated: Mar. 03, 2022, 8:47 p.m. | Published: Mar. 03, 2022, 5:46 a.m. CLEVELAND, Ohio – The best mens basketball team in the history of Case Western Reserve University is making the 518-mile bus trip to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in its own way. The reason CWRU is in the road to Oshkosh is the Spartans made the Division III NCAA tournament for the first time in school history. The 18 victories also are a school record. In their final practice at CWRU before getting on the bus, Cole Frilling was 45 minutes late. Not his fault. The 17-point scorer (7.0 rebounds) had a lab for his aerospace major. “That happens a lot,” said McGuinness. “Guys have labs, or a course that they can only take at a certain time. You make allowances. I tell people that if that bothers you as a coach, then you shouldn’t coach at Case.” The 6-foot-6 Frilling drilled five shots from 3-point range and scored 23 points to help the Spartans to a 92-83 victory over Carnegie-Mellon in the final game of the season – setting up their at-large berth to the NCAA tournament. https://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/2022/03/on-to-oshkosh-record-setting-case-western-reserve-team-still-has-tests-to-pass-terry-pluto.html- Cleveland: Kurentovanje

From everything I was hearing, I knew the Cleveland number was over 700 new immigrants. And families continue to arrive each week. In the Last Few Months, Cleveland Has Become Home to Nearly 700 Afghan Refugees in an Unprecedented Immigration Wave By Sam Allard February 23, 2022 “To put the numbers into context,” Hamm told Scene in late January, “we resettled fewer than 100 immigrants all of last year. We resettled more folks in the span of two months, all from Afghanistan, than we did in the previous two years combined.” ————— Ramzia was born in a province far in the northeastern part of the country, near the borders of both Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. She grew up, however, in the capital city and was pursuing a degree in political science at the local university when the Taliban took over. Ramzia said she fled Afghanistan because she had no other choice. For now, with the aid of USCRI, Ramzia has secured a job in food service at University Hospitals and is living in an apartment in Coventry Village in Cleveland Heights after weeks of housing instability at multiple local hotels. “I now truly have everything I need,” she said. “I have a safe place to live. I have food to eat. And I have a plan to start studying. I am so happy to be in Cleveland. Everyone here is so kind.” https://m.clevescene.com/cleveland/in-the-last-few-months-cleveland-has-become-home-to-nearly-700-afghan-refugees-in-an-unprecedented-immigration-wave/Content?oid=38445122- Cleveland: Kurentovanje
