Smith, Cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio – Northeast Ohio has lost one of its storied entertainment and media institutions. And it happened rather quietly. Alternative Press Magazine closed its offices at 1305 W 80th St. in Cleveland’s Gordon Square Arts District in December. The move came on the heels of the magazine being sold last fall in a very low-key transaction to MDDN LLC, the music media company launched by brothers Benji and Joel Madden, best known for their pop-punk band Good Charlotte. Details of the sale have not been made public. Thanks! Surprised Holy Rosary in Little Italy went away from offering Mass in Italian. It's gotta be decades ago when they stopped. What a list...and so incredible at the same time. I doubt if less than 1% of Clevelanders know all of this exists in Greater Cleveland.

One gem of a topic not often discussed or known is the unique aspect that Cleveland still has several parishes who celebrate church in the native immigrants languages. Spruce up and signage has begun. I do feel Cleveland (and Cleveland Airport) does a good job letting everyone and everywhere know what is in town for these types of events. We traded it to Brook Park in 2001 for the I-X Center… “Cleveland bought the I-X Center for $66.5 million from Park Corp. in 1999, with plans to demolish the building one day to make room for a Hopkins runway expansion. Brook Park, where the center was located, tried to seize it through eminent domain. The moves escalated a long-running feud between Cleveland and Brook Park, pitting the two cities’ headstrong mayors at the time – Mike White and Tom Coyne – against one another in a fight the Plain Dealer dubbed the “Gunfight at I-X Corral.” After years of wrangling and some $11 million in legal bills, White and Coyne sealed a truce with a hug in 2001. Construction on the new RSB complete! Jan 19, 2022 Contemporary Building Positions Glenn to Support NASA’s Future Missions NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland recently completed construction on the Research Support Building (RSB), an innovative new building designed to provide a flexible, inclusive, and collaborative workplace to meet future mission needs. The RSB contains office space for approximately 164 Glenn employees and support service contractors who will gradually move in over the next few months. It also will serve as a campus center with a cafeteria, “hoteling spaces” for part-time teleworkers, exchange store, credit union, ATM, 16 conference rooms, training rooms, and multiple gathering spaces. Concurrent engineering rooms allow multiple teams to work simultaneously on different phases of a technology or project. More on the Brooklyn Centre Development on Pearl Road: Brooklyn Masonic Temple in Cleveland to undergo renovation, conversion into apartments Updated: Jan. 18, 2022, 2:12 p.m. | Published: Jan. 18, 2022, 2:10 p.m. By Eric Heisig, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio — The run-down Brooklyn Masonic Temple building in Cleveland’s Brooklyn Centre neighborhood is slated to undergo extensive renovations, as the new owner plans to convert the building into apartments. New owner Kosta Almiroudis said he hopes to finish $4.5 million worth of renovations to the three-story brick building at 3804 Pearl Road by September 2023. In addition to rehabilitating the outside of the building and adding 26 market-rate apartments, he plans to build out two storefronts, each with more than 900 square feet of space. This is not only great for Columbus, but the whole state of Ohio. This scale of project will have positive ripple effects throughout the state. (bringing in talent, spin off industry, tech growth, etc). This news is massive.

Samsel Supply Co. which for decades owned a slew of buildings along Old River Road, sold the buildings to companies associated with GBX Group, a developer that specializes in working with historic projects.
