  2. Congrats JDD! Nice job beating up on those Chicago people.
  3. ^^Also, nothing was really done to save/fix it over the past 5 years or so, since there began rumblings of completely rebuilding it from Wolstein...which we are now just about ready to see. This thread primarily goes over the new plans merely in a condensed 54 pages of discussion!
  4. Anyone else getting a login needed to view the webcam?? http://www.theavenuedistrict.com/newlayout/

yep, the body is in the crypt below the statue. Also, the picture of Cleveland from the UO main page was taken from the balcony of this huge memorial/tomb. Amazing pics like usual!
  7. On TV it looked terrible...we had a similar trend last year and then picked up as the Tribe kept winning (plus warmer weather). Seriously though, are people in money crunches or something these days??

About tonight's win from a North Carolina paper....but it's half about Davidson's point guard Curry, haha (and there an interesting fact at the bottom) plus Washington and Toronto lost tonight. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.gastongazette.com/sports/cavaliers_18949___article.html/james_played.html LeBron James fouls out, but teammates lift Cavaliers over Bobcats By Richard Walker April 2, 2008 - 10:44PM CHARLOTTE - The Charlotte Bobcats had seemingly the perfect recipe for a win over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday. Not only did the Cavaliers come into the game with a six-game road losing streak, but James fouled out for the first time of the season - and only third time of his career - in the fourth quarter. Instead, a balanced Cleveland attack that featured seven double-figure scorers did in the Bobcats in a disappointing 118-114 victory. "Another one of those games where we played hard, we played well," said Charlotte coach Sam Vincent, whose team fell to 28-47. "We played well enough to win, but we didn't get the ‘W.'" It certainly was disappointing for the Bobcats, if for no other reason than they shot 53.1 percent as a team and got monster efforts from Jason Richardson (31 points, six rebounds, seven assists) and Emeka Okafor (25 points, nine rebounds).
  9. ^^definitely walked by that today :(...didn't look bad at all--just lovely press on negative news.
  10. check out google street view!
  11. From Transportation: Was it just my train then?? Sucks cuz I missed the 11:30 by about 30 secs. Well, maybe God wanted me to eat at Gallucci's today and have good pizza. Surprising there were a lot of people shopping for food....seemingly mostly from the suburbs. Again, sorry to everyone who was waiting!
  12. Here's my quote from the UO luncheon I missed: JMasek, what happened with the rapids today??
  13. Man, I wish I could have been there....well, here's my story if it matters: I boarded the Red Line at the University Circle stop at 11:45, which I then thought I may be a little late. Once we reach the E. 55th stop (which took a painful 20min), we're told that RTA has annonced all rapids all shutting down due to a computer problem. (JMasek...there's not a manual system as well?) Soo... we're told to get off and wait for a shuttle bus. After waiting a while, I decided it would be a good idea to try and catch the Cedar bus instead--I missed by one block (saw it drive past and just missed running after it) . I then tried the number 6, got to an island, about E.60, I was skipped because I wasn't on the other side of the street?? At this point it was 12:40, so I decided to eat a good lunch at Gallucci's, which was delicious! Sorry to everyone--I did try!
  14. Now it's confirmed -- I'll be able to make it.
  15. From today's paper, which I didn't quite get from the online version, seems to have the second bidding for today. "This morning, Cuyahoga County will once again find out if someone wants to take the Ameritrust complex off its hands" - PD
  16. I'll plan on making it as well. What place bossman??
  17. Correct, they still do. FYI, I would honestly estimate 80%-90% of the Little Italy properties are not listed in the paper or online. Hitting the neighborhood would be your best strategy if it's on your list.
  18. From the PD--nothing that should surprise you, but a fairly complete list nonetheless: Films that have been shot in Cleveland http://www.cleveland.com/news/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/other/1206865829115980.xml&coll=2
  19. Time to change into the tribe gear! Hope it doesn't get rained out...

  21. Little Italy is also comparable to Lakewood when it comes to rent rates and not having to drive downtown. There are two rapid stops that border the edges of Little Italy plus it may be considered a little safer when compared to Lakewood as well. Is Ohio City out of the question for you??
  22. Seriously man, that was one hell of a tour. Great Pics.
  23. Does anyone know why Ashtabula County was dropped from the Cleveland MSA recently--which further added to the declining numbers. That was about a loss of 100,000 people to the MSA, right? Are we planning on adding it again in the near future to get new region "growth" for the 2010 census or something??

I can't get over how nice some of the remaining streetscapes are on the far eastside of the city. I was drving through Glenville a few months ago and they're are some gorgeous side steet neighborhoods.
