  1. Maybe there must be a difference between "refugees" and "immigrants" ... ?? Curious what @KJP has to say, but we've been seeing articles with numbers in the thousands for new Ukrainians coming to NEO ... for example: https://www.freshwatercleveland.com/features/Ukrainian_Refugees_032023.aspx
  2. Great video: A historic Little Italy theater is decaying and condemned. Neighbors want it cleaned up. https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/a-historic-little-italy-theater-is-decaying-and-condemned-neighbors-want-it-cleaned-up
  3. Not that I agree with the sentiment of this tweet, noteworthy the old dentist fraternity house is coming down next to L’albatros:
  4. ^ One of those … “I wonder what city that is” at first glance.
  5. This makes absolute sense with Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve continuing to grow every year. So many rotational programs with people coming from all over the world. I suspect even more highrise infill will be needed sooner than later.
  6. Great video… and cool to incorporate some Downtown Cleveland … remind potential recruits where CWRU is and their potential college life:

The new center is located in a renovated two-story building at 11310 Wade Park Ave. that was formerly a residence and is close to the school’s Mather Park softball field. 8. While reading the BBC this morning…
  9. Agreed on the needed usage. Google Earth tool puts it at 300 meters. I'd say that's not a bad walk. A LOT closer than walking to class each day.
  10. Plus how insanely close 600 more people are to a Rapid Transit station! The largest TOD in the city this year??
  11. I can't quite tell from the photos, but have students moved in yet? The article above says these 600 beds were to be ready for this fall semester.
  12. Cleveland Clinic may reduce size of proposed buildings in $150 million refresh of Fairview Hospital Updated: Jul. 11, 2024, 3:12 p.m. By Julie Washington, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio — After hearing residents’ concerns, the Cleveland Clinic says it may reduce the size of its $150 million construction project to refresh Fairview Hospital’s campus on the far West Side of Cleveland. 18. From Philadelphia to Cleveland, granola butter manufacturer has relocated production to a 50,000-square foot space in Brooklyn Heights. “Finding a food-grade manufacturing facility is like a needle in a haystack.” founder Ali Bonar said. She had never been to Cleveland before she found the space. In August 2023, she and Katz visited for 24 hours on a beautiful summer day and fell in love. “I’m like, why does no one talk about Cleveland?” Oat Haus relocates to Greater Cleveland with indulgent allergen-free granola butter Updated: May. 06, 2024, 11:03 a.m.| Published: May. 06, 2024, 8:11 a.m. By Alex Darus, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio — Granola and nut butter are nearly required modern-day breakfast foods in America. 20. I’ve been thinking about the idea of combining Cleveland history + beer for some upcoming gathering (not necessarily related to this upcoming proposal). For example: 1) Tour Gray’s Armory , walk to AJ Rocco’s 2) Check out the Cozad-Bates House, walk to Jolly Scholar Brewery 3) Soldiers and Sailor’s Monument, walk to Butcher and Brewer 4) Check out Dunham Tavern, walk to the Black Frog Brewery (opening in the 2025?) I know I’ve been unavailable these past few, but this recently crossed my mind of doing something like this once 3 - 4 times a year. With that said, hope I can attend our next gathering!
