  4. Now that is some posh living on the Cleveland lakefront. Note: also walking distance to the upcoming Bradstreet's Landing lakefront park / pier: https://www.cleveland.com/news/2019/10/bradstreets-landing-in-rocky-river-to-break-ground-in-spring-2020.html For CLE suburban living options, this has to be at the top of list. Plus a very scenic 15-20 min commute to Downtown driving Lake Ave, Clifton Ave, and the Shoreway (Edgewater Pkwy..??)

  11. I still think it is a real concern estimating what percentage of households will correctly handle the paperwork. What you're saying sounds good in practice, but who knows what the level of compliance will be. Let's say 80% of households fill it out correctly, that is still a decent percentage of college students not being counted inside our major city limits. It seems inevitable Ohio cities will feel at least some effect on college student metrics alone, with Cincinnati, Toledo, Columbus, and Youngstown possibly hit the hardest (Cleveland comparatively has a smaller student population). COVID-19 will create other issues overall ...that's a whole other story and should be a major concern as well.
  12. Had the same thought a week ago. Ohio cities need to make sure everyone is counted more than ever.
  13. Interesting, they will in fact be serving beer as well:

Speaking of form-based coding: City of Cleveland piloting project to improve outdated zoning practices for more walkable neighborhoods CLEVELAND — The city of Cleveland is piloting a project to move toward “form-based coding” to update the city's zoning practices. Retail and restaurants and housing, all mixed together. These photos indicate the way the intersection at West 75th Street and Detroit Avenue used to look back in the early 1920s. https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/originals/city-of-cleveland-piloting-project-to-improve-outdated-zoning-practices-for-more-walkable-neighborhoods
  16. Cleveland-Born Chef to Import Popular Chicago Restaurant to Little Italy February 2020 | Douglas Trattner Last summer, Victor Morenz and Emily Gilbert closed their popular Chicago restaurant Home Bistro, which was a Boystown neighborhood staple for nearly 15 years. But Chicago’s loss will be Cleveland’s gain as the owners attempt to recreate the charm and personality of that beloved spot back home. They recently got the keys to the old Gusto space in Little Italy and hope to open Home Bistro sometime this spring. https://www.lagazzettaitaliana.com/local-news/9341-cleveland-born-chef-to-import-popular-chicago-restaurant-to-little-italy

  18. So it begins...next month: Cleveland City Council OKs tax incentives for two Ohio City development projects Today 7:23 PM By Robert Higgs, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio – City Council gave final approval Monday to tax incentives sought by developers to help convert underused property on Cleveland’s West Side into new housing. One project, Market Square, would involve razing the struggling Market Plaza built in the 1970s across Lorain Avenue from the West Side Market. Harbor Bay Real Estate Advisors plans to replace it with about 300 market-rate apartments and about 40,000 square feet of retail space. Demolition and construction could begin as soon as March, the company has said. https://www.cleveland.com/cityhall/2020/02/cleveland-city-council-oks-tax-incentives-for-two-ohio-city-development-projects.html

  21. Litt: Sherwin-Williams’ new HQ should create positive ripples in Public Square, downtown Cleveland Updated 1:29 PM; Today 1:22 PM By Steven Litt, The Plain Dealer CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Sherwin-Williams Co.’s newly announced plan to build a new headquarters in Cleveland is hugely important for many reasons, not the least of which is that it could transform a parking lot wasteland that has blighted downtown for decades. Of the more than 175 buildings that stood in the district in 1921, only 69 were still standing by the mid-1980s, according to an unpublished history written by local historian Drew Rolik. https://www.cleveland.com/news/2020/02/sherwin-williams-new-hq-should-create-positive-ripples-in-public-square-downtown-cleveland.html
