  1. YES!! Home of Cleveland icon Jesse Owens headed for landmark designation Published: Mar. 14, 2024, 5:04 p.m. By Courtney Astolfi, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland is moving forward with a landmark designation for the East 100th Street home of Olympic Gold medalist Jesse Owens. City Council is considering legislation in the coming weeks that will advance the nomination already approved by the Cleveland Landmarks Commission late last year. The Black Cleveland icon clinched four Gold medals in track and field at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, humiliating Adolf Hitler on the world stage, and dispelling his theories of white supremacy. https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2024/03/home-of-cleveland-icon-jesse-owens-headed-for-landmark-designation.html

  9. Area surrounding Yost Hall to be prepared for ISEB construction site FEBRUARY 28, 2024 As shared in The Daily in the fall, work continues to prepare for construction of the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building (ISEB) on the northwest side of the Case Quad. In the coming weeks, several trees will be removed from the area around Yost Hall—in accordance with recommendations from the designer’s and city of Cleveland’s professional arborists—to allow adequate space for the new building. Some trees will be replaced on site, but for any that cannot, the university has committed to plant a new tree elsewhere on campus. Yost Hall is scheduled for demolition in late April. https://thedaily.case.edu/area-surrounding-yost-hall-to-be-prepared-for-iseb-construction-site/ EDIT: Project has a pretty detailed project page as well and will have a webcam: https://case.edu/campusplanning/current-projects/interdisciplinary-science-and-engineering-building
