  1. not everyone can afford the ritz or the rennaisance and well the marriott...thats a cold walk along the lakefront during winter months....something in that neighborhood would be ideal and convenient
  2. where the women make up that 80% is from the man paying for dinner and such...engagement rings, wedding rings and all the other "perks" ....anniversaries, valentine's day, sweetest day, etc.....im going to be hated for this post
  3. why doesnt the warehouse district have its own hotel. i think one would be very successful there. i havnt heard about one being included in pesht. i do remember one being planned at the end of west 6th street 4-5 years ago but financing fell through. i loved the rendition. every outta towner has a good walk or take a taxi to get there from their hotel, why not jus put one there and capitalize on all the partygoers, bachelor-bachelorette parties that go on down there. to me its a no brainer.
  4. looks like what the warehouse district used to look like here in cleveland
  5. its for the greater good...i see plenty of other storefronts at that intersection where they could relocate
  6. i like how the intersection of Madison and Warren is shaping up. from a gas station and a half empty suburban type plaza to a new sherwin williams and walgreens built right up to the corners of the intersection. looks good now we jus need to get rid of the BP station.
  7. nothing against leather...the building isnt the most appealing....anyhow, i think a clinic building there like the one at rockport square would just add more to that corner of that intersection...also increasing foot traffic on detroit...just my thoughts
  8. i was roaming around E. 4th today in search of this ever elusive Zocala alley and i believe i found it. its right behind the building on the SE corner of E. 4th and Prospect. its the only "alley" on E. 4th.

i live in lakewood.... seven houses or so behind the hopeful next phase of Rockport Square the six story loft building....c'mon forest city lets move!!! its one of the reasons i bought here
  10. both myself and my brother moved to lakewood recently from outside the area and know a good handful of others that work and live downtown that have moved their in the last 1-2 years coming from the sticks of ashtabula county. most are in law or managers at restaurants and clubs go figure....since ive lived here i have gotten noting from the census bureau nor have any of my friends...so i hafta believe their numbers are at least a lil off. i also believe farmland values are going to increase soon with the price of corn starting to rise because of ethanol consumption hopefully stonewalling rural-suburban developers. i hope.
  11. putting it in a spot next to the cleveland public theatre would be ideal....take down the leather shop
  12. maybe there using their limited resources in other areas than building a website
  13. and the growing season isnt that long so this land wont be used year round...half the year at most
  14. there isnt near enough land in cleveland for farms to make even the slightest impact pricewise nor production.
  15. what i'd like to see and cant understand why it hasnt been done is why havnt these downtown developers plastered billboards of their projects and housing options downtown on every billboard going east on the shoreway, south on 77 and west on 90 to catch the eye of frustrated commuters stuck in rush hour traffic?????????? i think this could be a huge opportunity. i think you could catch a good percentage of these commuters sitting in traffic enough times with these billboards staring them in the face every day every time it happens.
  16. another disappointment for midtown....cows, pigs, and chickens, corn????????????...i seen enough of those growing up working on farms in Ashtabula county....not in Midtown Cleveland...wtf is going on with these people. what we'll have John Deeres and Massey Fergusons rollin down the new euclid corridor? these people hafta be playing some joke.

definitely...i was working on the University Club (Myers University) building some three years ago on euclid, which used historic tax credits. that after we finished doing all the trim, base, crown moulding, etc... on the whole third floor...they made us tear it all down saying it too closely matched the existing trim work...i says to myself these people are on crack. i was really good tedious work all gone to the shithouse cause the architect didnt know.
  18. im going fo sure
  19. My father was a pipefitter who worked on jobs such as Society Center (Key Tower), Jacobs Field, Gund Arena (The Q), Tower City and many other projects. He would always take me and my brothers to his jobs while under construction. And being a kid who grew up working on farms in Ashtabula county this was awesome. This is what ultimately got me interested in construction and development and the big city. He was born in a house on E. 90th and St. Clair so i guess im somewhat going back to my roots. I now work in the construction industry as well as investment properties while residing in Lakewood.
  20. i remember reading somewhere...maybe a couple weeks ago that the owner of the beach club sold. i think the PD's info is outdated. i heard firsthand from a port board member last week that only four owners were left to settle and he seemed pretty optimistic that they would be settled before this goes any further through the courts
  21. another quality addition to lakewood
  22. i dont believe Eaton would have to put up any money for a new office building as long as it signs a lease agreement with a developer to occupy a new building. i believe thats all the motivation a developer would need to put shovels in the ground.
  23. that collection of new buildings are the best looking set of structures that Case owns. that facility actually has a flow to it and meshes very well with the neighborhood. i also like how they incorporated the football field into the plan, very unique and intelligent use of space.

a great looking complex with the potential to have a major impact on that neighborhood. thanks for all the info and updates graciesdad!!
  25. applause! i wouldnt be for saving this structure if it wasnt for the lackluster renditions of the new building. this project is going to be a huge disappointment.
