Peak Oil
I hope thats a typo ;) I hope it doesnt happen. Have you noticed whats happening in Europe with oil at 135-140 a barrel? Here's one article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080611/bs_afp/worldinflationprotestenergytransport

Gas Prices
From everything I have heard, 10 hour days (and sometimes weekends) are the norm at Hyland Software anyways. True, though alot of the workers are hourly, so if they don't work the 5th day, they give up some overtime. Alot of construction contractors in the area are starting to offer the 4/10 work week as well.

The smart car get 36 mpg combined hwy/city. That seems awfully low for something that small.

Peak Oil
400.00 a barrel will never happen. Our economy as well as the global economy would tank well before then driving down consumption as well as the price. But it wont matter anyway cause if that happens most of us will be broke and not be able to afford it at 50.00 a barrel. Bottom line is theres a shit storm coming and no one wants to acknowledge it. By the time they do it'll be too late.

One project that could possibly change this project is the convention center. If rebuilt at the current site the county would need to start looking for office space immediately, in which they could turn to Jacobs which could easily add 15-20 stories to accommodate them. Also if the convention center is chosen for the tower city site Jacobs could add a hotel to his project adding possibly another 10 floors. If they decide it's too expensive to build at this time or if medical mart for whatever reason backs out we'll pobably just get the 21 story building being presented.

well initially I was for the tower city site. I see the CC/MM with its next door proximity to the jake, many existing attached hotel rooms, the Q, tower city, east 4th, etc. as a megaplex of entertainment and convenience nonetheless. also hoping for scranton peninsula spillover. then my economically sane part of me took over and said hey we already own the other site, screw forest city and their bs games. now, i dont care as long as its one of the two. the chester site is pure bs, mainly to scare forest city into a better deal.

Also if his rendering is anything like what we should expect, notice the added ninth floor.

Cleveland: League Park
The ticket office is actually in the right field corner area of the park. It seated around 22,000. A 60 foot high right field fence actually ran down Lexington. From past pics ive seen it was one beautiful neighborhood ballpark.

when is the residential component of this project slated to start? I'm sure it would be pretty cool to live/work in the same complex.

yeah, it seems hard to believe that soil would be an issue. when you look at the current convention center from the shoreway it is clearly way above the water table with room to spare. i dont know, either there or tower city, i dont care much anymore. just get it done. i like both sites.

this is great stuff! thanks for the photo! though after looking at gps photos i dont see how in the world taking down the dollar bank building will give you a clear path to prospect. the building only stretches halfway to prospect. behind that is part of the arcade building and the lower part of the 668 complex.

Another destroyed Gem. What exactly were people on back then?

I'm guessing the reason Dollar Bank is being demoed is to give the building windows on its west side, maximizing the building's square footage. Maybe add some balconies to that side overlooking their pedestrian walkway.

Also noticed that 55 Public Square is also 21 stories, so with today's higher ceilings Jacobs tower would most definitely be taller, therefore not looking "lost" in the mix.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
After looking at frqntflyr's 1980 pic I realize that Jacobs new building would almost be "kicking" 55 Public Square off of Public Square. And that in itself is an improvement.

Gas Prices
Has anyone on here know anything about or tried these HHO (also called Brown's gas), water to hydrogen systems that compliment your cars fuel system? I've been reading that they can improve your gas mileage anywhere from 30-70 percent. http://www.water4gas.com/2books.htm http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Complete-HHO-Generator-Kit-Increase-Mileage-Upto-85_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42604QQihZ020QQitemZ300228628591QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

I was initially hoping for something 50+ stories on this site as were many others on here. Though I realize the market conditions may be prohibitive for a larger structure. If done right this could tie in the central business district nicely with Stark's project on into the warehouse district. This could become a very dense area in a short period of time. I'm all for it. Though I hope for a little better design, maybe some stone work with the glass to help compliment the adjacent terminal tower complex.

Cleveland: Bob Stark Warehouse District Project
My source tells me this project is shelved for an indeterminate amount of time. I see this project as getting scaled down quite a bit or not happening at all. Stark is having trouble finding big money lenders for this.
