Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
i apologize for thinking outside the box. i should just assume that RTA in its current state is as good as it can possibly be and there is no room for improvement. im sorry for thinking otherwise, how stupid i should feel. i will now crawl back inside the box and convice myself that wandering from status quo is unacceptable here, being that RTA are such innovators and revolutionaries when it comes to light rail. my apologies Joe C., MTS, and ks5214.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
well, right now it's just in the idea form. in regards to finance. i don't have access to RTA books so i don't know all their sources of revenue, what their revenue is, or where their money is appropriated. so maybe there is money that could be re appropriated towards this, or there may be some grants or other financial assistance that it may qualify for, i don't know. as far as maintenance. the mechanical parts of the car would not change, there would be extra electrical systems run but nothing that would affect the operation of the car. maintenance would not be an issue. As far as marketing, i would get the Downtown Cleveland Alliance, the convention and visitors bureau, chamber of commerce, the hotels, restaurants, etc...involved being that this would mainly target downtown business. pricing....that would need to be studied...and not studied by me. could be included in hotels stays, 5 even 10 dollar fee would probably be reasonable if its a good product. still cheaper than a cab, but could be so much more. smooth ride, no traffic, standard fee, WIFI included, comfy chair, TV's. it would be a great alternative. someting uniquely Cleveland.

Cleveland: Cuyahoga County Gov't properties disposition (non-Ameritrust)
hey, if detroit can renovate a 33 story tower into residential/hotel space, we can too. I dont see K&D being interested in demolishing that building. There is no private developer in the mid-west who could tear down a high rise , rebuild on it with residential and possibly make any money. only in NY could you pull that off. This building will not be torn down. I think a condo conversion would be perfect for this building. adding cantilevered balconies to this building could really dress it up. I dont see this building being sold privately for more than 15 million.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
I worked on that Target store. North Olmsted made them "dress up" that store or they would never approve it. Target spent around $1.8 million in extras to get approval for that store.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I was riding the rapid from the airport the other night and was wondering why RTA doesnt have some sort of VIP car or "corporate car" for business travelers. Something that had TV's with the news on and free WIFI. something with separate seats, wide and comfy. I think RTA could really capitalize on something like that. Especially when it costs $44.00 to take a cab from the airport to downtown now.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
something drastic needs to be done. and it really pisses me off when everyone wants to pull out the race card being that a large percentage of the city is african-american and a large percentage of crimes in the city are committed by african americans. what do they expect us to do? keep our mouths shut and let this nonsense continue? i guess they want "whitey" to but out and let blacks keep killing blacks. wtf!!

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
i sure hope this doesnt oversaturate the area with just primarily dining. i wouldve liked to see something like a new york style deli, maybe a corner store type place where you could pick up all your essentials. someplace where you could buy a six pack and a bag of chips, bar of soap, etc. this BlackFinn place sounds pretty similar to Flannery's. i'd like to know what some of the 150 other proposals/offers were. i also wonder why it takes them so long to construct anything over there. i work in the construction industry and cant see why all their projects drag on for so long unless the Maron's are such perfectionists that they build something, dont like how it looks tear it down and do over, change order stuff...i dont know

Question For People In Real Estate Development, Plan, Arch Or Related Fields
that is one of if not thee most important jobs concerning a construction project. extremely difficult. how much money made if any on a project depends on that person. also used in project feasibility studies to determine if they can take on given project, and if it would be worth their while.
