  1. There are hundreds of examples. Even if they due have a crosswind runway, it's often not suitable for certain operations (Newark comes to mind). The FAA is a lot of things, but they are pretty good with weather (until Trump guts all the weather staff). Over the years they have figured out the runway alignments to work most of the time.
  2. The usage for the site also dates to the 1930's when that site was literally where our sewers and toxic chemicals dumped into the lake. In some ways they still do...

Cleveland/Akron UO members be like "Only one blimp??? So Cincinnati..." 😉
  4. Which begs the question, how are all those people getting to their self-storage lockers if they can't take the train? 😐
  5. Where is Shontel Brown in all of this?
  6. I have been flying out of CLE for 30 years and hundreds (if not over one thousand) of flights, and have only landed on 28 once, in a Air Canada Q200 when there was construction going on one of the 24 runways.
  7. Or, another take. The city lacks great amounts of buildable land near a highway polluted with exhaust fumes and access to Olive Gardens. So GLB has a recent MBA grad armed wth an excel spreadsheet, ill-fitting dockers and a lust for advancement, who pitching this land as a way that GLB can worry only about their bottom line, and not their legacy in Cleveland.
  8. I don't hate this. Hopefully the Bibb adminstration is also taking note. I'm sure concourse D could handle Jet Blue's ER175 jets and maybe United would let them have it?
  9. I am all for green space in a city, but these photos underscore what a spectacular neighborhood this site would make if filled with dense residential and retail.
  10. Somewhere a wire transfer found it's way to Trump's account....
  11. I love the cars driving around in the 1750 version of Manhattan 😅
  12. Live Nation would likely be the one bringing programming to your said new stadium. And the economics do not work to put Blossom out of business..
  13. I'm sure there are Cinci forumers on here who will tell us cars NEVER get broken into there... 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄
  14. There are far to many Americans today who define "national character" as something they purchased on a truck stop T shirt to wear in between Trump rallies. The reality is obviously much much much more diverse and interesting.
  15. It's not Live Nation. It's AEG.
  16. And yet we have a sitting councilperson trying to actively circumnavigate zoning rules to put a gas station a little over a block from a Red Line Station...
  17. In Europe for work. Sending regrets!

Same. Though I did fear that they were not tough enough. We need an enforcer in there. Someone who can dish out some physicality.

For those with a NYT subscription, a fascinating (and somewhat scary) look into how the trains are actually operated and controlled: Deep inside a subway station in Brooklyn, in a cramped, industrial room, Dyanesha Pryor pushes in a metal lever on a hulking machine that was installed nearly a century ago. A few hundred feet away, a signal light flashes red and a train that had been rumbling down the local tracks slides to a stop. Ms. Pryor, a transit worker, pulls another lever and a section of rail shifts into place, allowing the local train to merge onto a shared track in front of a waiting express train. She then restores the signal to green and the local rolls into the station. 20. I would have to think it's a mix of feedback on the project and just generally a more forward-thinking leader at the head of the city. The monolithic plodding and backwardness of the Frank Jackson administration cannot be understated. it didn't move our city backwards, but it certainly slowed it to a snails pace forward...
  21. Hopefully the FAA can figure this out soon. Lots of CLE based crew and business passengers use Newark frequently (yours truly included!). Newark Airport Enters Second Week of Disruptions After Controllers Take LeaveTravelers at Newark Liberty International are hit with major delays and cancellations for an eighth straight day. FLYING MagazineNewark Airport Enters Second Week of Disruptions After Co...Delays and cancellations are due to a combination of staffing shortages, equipment issues, and runway construction.

The GOP continues to do very important work that affects almost no Ohioans and chases away those with education and ideas. Way to go O-HI O....
  23. This and the insanity with property insurance in Florida right now.

  25. Not at all. I could probably get it done myself for $50K? Maybe $100K? GCP could pitch in and knock it out.
