US Economy: News & Discussion
Might explain the aggressive moves by Russian fighter jets the past couple days. Will be interesting to see what Trump does to try to get the price going up again.

Cleveland: Ohio City: INTRO (Market Square / Harbor Bay Development)
I'm still using them for internet unfortunately. It's about the best there is in my Cleveland neighborhood.

Lakewood: Downtown: CASTO Development
I hope she doesn't take the path of least resistance and throw up a strip mall and 5 townhomes. That site is ripe for something mixed use just like the new one at 25th/Lorain.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
If the City of Cleveland is staffing this, it will be a highly coveted "seasonal full time with benefits" position. I'm still wondering who is maintaining the bridge?

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
Time for the City to get its act together and figure out how to hold virtual planning meetings.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
TBH I'm going to miss the "Cleveland" on the jerseys. I feel like for decades our teams lacked that, then the Indians of the 90's, Lebron Cavs, etc started all putting it on the jersey again.

Cleveland Metroparks: The Emerald Necklace
I went for a ride through Edgewater today and couldn't help but notice the increase in pedestrian traffic (for a weekday). In some ways this reminds me of Europe, where you tend to see families out walking, hiking or biking together more than you do here in the US. If there is one good to come out of the Coronavirus pandemic is it appears that families are spending more time outdoors together. When the downtime ends, I do hope they continue to shut off the TV for a couple hours and go on walks or rides together.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
I would guess this is not projection, rather some kind of low-res LED curtaining.

Cleveland: Ohio City: INTRO (Market Square / Harbor Bay Development)
Just did some quick cyberslacking digging. Aerial map from 1951 shows some structures there. A few photos from early to mid 20th century show nondescript 2-3 story brick buildings.

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
Not a development--just saw this in action when walking the dog earlier this morning.

MLB: General News & Discussion
I don't know--the Dodgers are as stacked as they've ever been and we'd be in the same division (if I'm reading that right)?

I love the convenience of digital music, but do miss reading the liner notes, seeing the photos, etc inside the albums.

Might have just been the excessive wind the past day or two?

US Economy: News & Discussion
In normal times, yes. But in this instance I think it's short-sighted. There will be a large percentage of restaurants and retail that just never re-open. It's already happening to malls and commercial developers. Very few tenants are paying their rent right now. When they are allowed to reopen, unless they are granted a reprieve on back rent, they may just choose to gather their inventory and walk away.

I wish I would have known about Avebury before visiting Stonehenge a few years back. We all grow up seeing those giant monoliths in books and magazines, then when you walk up to them (at least as close as you can get to them) they do appear underwhelming.

I had seen them last fall. Wandered back there to have a look around, and ended up talking to the developer/owner.

The problem will be for the restaurants and small businesses that close outright. It will take quite some time for the market to fill those spaces. A recent estimate said 25% of all small businesses in the US may not survive this period.
