Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
OK when is the city going to start maintaining their property, sweeping the streets or maybe PAVING some of the streets that have been a pothole infested mess for decades!

Los Angeles: Developments and News
I'm in LA for meetings for a few days, so will try to take some shots. TOD Los Angeles style. 30 story residential tower and retail at the La Cienega/Jefferson Metro stop.

Edit for my original comment: Buffalo Bills fans would ardently disagree with this, as THE ONLY NFL team that plays in New York. ?

Not for a concert. It is closer to 30,000 since you are eliminating all the outfield seating. Football stadiums have greater capacity for concerts because the endzone is generally a shorter wall and there is no infield to worry about.

There are no football stadiums in NY proper. Also, this is sort of the second loop through the country on this tour, so I'm sure the promoter was directed to get the best deals possible in smaller markets and maximize their take.

And I'm sure they weren't trying to re-route trolleys and traffic off Public Square! ?

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Great idea. If they had dedicated contractor parking in the garage, I'm sure it would be a very heavily shopped location. There are always workers painting things downtown. Sutton Hardware out on Prospect is about the closest option for them.

Airline Industry News and Discussion
The founder of JetBlue just launched a new US airline, aimed at routes that others have left behind https://www.businessinsider.com/breeze-new-airline-david-neeleman-moxy-jetblue-2020-2?fbclid=IwAR0-gcNK-FFZXBiaUlDQZZyOTN_zAVASzQahogy47_epzqTMrubAYVrn2rM

Cleveland City Council
I am all for reducing government waste, by my council office is the ONE aspect of Cleveland government functions that actually seems to work well. I can email Matt Zone and expect a personal response from him or his staff within a day, which is not the case for nearly any other department I've tried to interact with. As an aside, I'm still on the hunt for how many employees the City of Cleveland maintained in 1950, at the peak of its population. I believe the city is at about 6,500 full time employee today.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
I actually appreciate this service as opposed to some cities where you hop in the taxi and the driver sizes you up for how much you're willing to get ripped off. As to their trouble with downtown residence, I imagine the qualifications to sit in that booth are not very extensive. They are probably a Jackson administration's family member who were ill suited to the Chief Operating Officer role....

Cleveland: Cudell / West Boulevard / Edgewater: Development and News
As an aside (related to housing stock condition), I attended CSU in the early 90's as an east side kid from the burbs. I dated a west burbs girl all through college who had lots of friends living in this neighborhood, which in the early 90's was still very much a solid working class neighborhood, not unlike West Park. We used to frequent the little bars on Madison for cheap drinks before heading out downtown.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Yes Jackson said they were unable to come up with a suitable site based on "future needs" of expansion at the R&D facility. According to the mayor Sherwin Williams wanted a site for that with plenty of room to grow.

Anyone hear anything from this presser? I tried to find online and was unsuccessful.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
If Gateway had never been built and the Cavs were in Richfield and the Indians moved away, do you think it would still be "patio season" on E 4th? Only if you can buy wigs or pawn some old jewelry on a patio....
-
Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Indians attendance has dropped 300K+ in the last 3 seasons.

The Cavs have to be factored into this discussion however. I went to the NOLA game last week, arguably a big draw with Zion in town the first time. I would estimate 20% of the seats were empty. A competitive Cavs team brought out lots of corporate money and big wigs to games. When they start losing, corporate seats start going to underlings and clients, who take the free seats and don't spend as much. If you start talking razor-thin margins in the restaurant business, a decline in attendance at the arena will have a measurable effect on your business.

Cleveland City Council
We shall see if he actually pays for a "libtard" university study....
-
Cleveland City Council
Well, in this case he went from ballot issue to "well maybe a academic university study is more appropriate" in a matter of a couple weeks. Caved he did.

I wonder what kind of backlash George received to back down so quickly?
