Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
Ditto. I have an old cell number ported to Google Voice that contributes to most of them. I also love how they always spoof a local exchange, like we'd be fooled into thinking, "hey that number is almost the same as mine...I must KNOW them!"

IMO enclosing would be a waste of money. We would never see the return on that, especially given it's distance from the actual convention center. It might as well be 5 miles to most conventioneers--shuttle busses would be in order. I can see the outside of the stadium being transformed with additions for mixed use purposes (much like the addition and re-skinning happening at the Q now), depending on how the land develops around it. But the land use is what it is--it's been a stadium for going on 90 years, surrounded by industrial and port land.

A market correction might be ok....a complete financial collapse ala 2008 is an entirely different story (and if that happens I fear the worst with Trump at the helm).

If Kowalski cares about the neighborhood as much as he indicates, then he should be a good neighbor and take care of aesthetics.

I disagree. The retail model as a whole is crumbling, except when paired as a destination, as in outlet malls attached to a casino. In this case would any downtown resident mind having a Nordstrom Rack, Nike outlet, or any of the host of other stores that populate these places? Of course not--it would just be a bonus to their downtown experience instead of an empty mall. So why not try successful model, that not only brings visitors in from the suburbs but also benefits residents? https://www.tangeroutlet.com/foxwoods/stores

Was driving by West Blvd station today and noticed the taller building at 9800 Detroit is up for sale. Could be some TOD primer if the building is worthy of a conversion. https://www.google.com/maps/place/9800+Detroit+Ave,+Cleveland,+OH+44102/@41.479862,-81.7509695,3a,75y,351.13h,89.5t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sKO_NBz8Gr_X9N3qoG94ouA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x8830f1c6adc3eabf:0x53057e5d6ec33e07!8m2!3d41.4802593!4d-81.7511167

I hate to keep harping, but TC makes perfect sense for an outlet mall. Casinos around the country are tied to outlets. I believe if Gilbert went all in on an outlet mall, that Phase II of the casino could get legs again. https://www.foxwoods.com/tanger/ https://www.outletsatsandsbethlehem.com/-/media/Outlets/Directory/1-19/Full_Property_Map.ashx?la=en&hash=7BC15A17F5CFF4891CFF94DC58500732B25BB88D

I'm siding with @KJP on this. I've lived in the area my entire life. My entire adult life has been Downtown, Little Italy, Edgewater and Lakewood since the early 1990's. Its only been in the last 2-3 years that I've noticed these out-of-state plates everywhere. There is definitely a shift going on.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I hope this is right, but if not I personally feel the Jacobs lot is a perfect spot for a new Justice Center, so long as it's built in the fashion that the County HQ building was--as a public/private partnership (leaving the public out of the design and construction process). A development like this would certainly spur on some mixed-use ideas for the WHD surface lots, including lots of attorneys looking to update their surroundings to keep up with the Jones' (or judges!). ?

I was thinking the same thing. Also the construction methods being used in the photo make me believe this is earlier, possibly World War I?

Lakewood: Development and News
Sadly I don't see any of these grandiose plans happening in Lakewood. When I mentioned the streetcar, I was actually thinking something in Lakewood only, funded through private and public entities. Much like the Delmar Loop trolley in St Louis. http://www.looptrolley.com Maybe a "Lakewood Loop" makes sense. There could be a loop around Clifton and Detroit, and an opposing loop around Madison and Detroit (with a connection to the Red Line at W117th.)
