Cleveland: Rocket Arena (Gund Arena)
I'd say just one: The RNC. The goal of this is to get more fans spending money in the arena restaurants rather than in the restaurants out on E 4th, etc.

Cleveland: Rocket Arena (Gund Arena)
Because he loves Detroit more than us!! It's his hometown. I don't hate him for that. And he's done more here in Cleveland than many of our local team and business owners. We should be happy to have him and sending ideas his way. You never know--he just may latch onto one.

Those were stamped concrete rather than these new adhesive "bricks". I give the new ones one winter...

Yeah, Particularly after several freeze/thaw cycles And Cleveland's yahoo snowplow drivers.... Who at city hall hurt you? LOL no one personally. I just know a few snowplow drivers...and you should hear the stories! On a broader scale I find our city government to be inept, bloated and not very good and delivering services to residents. I wonder how many were employed in the 1950's, at the peak of Cleveland's population? Have yet to be able to find this number...

I dunno--the Cavs parade was pretty epic. If the Browns ever win a Superbowl..you can double that attendance.

Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport
100% correct. Aviation was also in it's mid-century golden age. People were fascinated by airplanes and the possibilities they held. The Cleveland National Air Races (held at then Cleveland Municipal-now Hopkins) were some of the largest in the world. Aviation buffs from around the world attended, and the international press descended on Cleveland. Years later when the races stopped and replaced by the Cleveland National Airshow, the decision to use Burke had some roots in safety, as air race participants had crashed into populated areas in the past. https://clevelandhistorical.org/items/show/151

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
I still don't understand why the rush hour bus lanes don't continue onto the Shoreway? They run from Rocky River to Clifton/Lake, then end there.

It looks like the shadow is trying to touch the shadow in front of him's junk... Maybe it's better to leave the tank condom covering it....

Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport
Maybe you will be able to get the mayor's attention with this example. We could dedicate a namesake for Jackson. I’m sure he’ll serve for another 4 terms at least. Jackson Lakefront Dirtbike Park. Gee I can't wait....

Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport
This is entirely not true. Many of the planes that use BKL could not use CGF. Not all planes are tiny turboprops or small business jets... I’m sure there is a solution. Cuyahoga County Airport runway is nearly as long as BKL and there’s room to extend it. Plus, Hopkins is underutilized and has plenty of room. “According to the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic Activity Data Base System (ATADS), Burke had 100,321 takeoffs and landings in 2000. By 2010, that number was down to 53,987. Last year, 2017, it had basically dropped off to 38,571. So between 2000 and 2017, Burke's flight numbers have dropped by 62 percent. Those are striking numbers made even more striking by this fact: About a third of those 38,571 takeoffs and landings are for the pilot flight schools located at Burke, which has nothing to do with business, travel or shipping of goods.” Keeping it open for 25,000 flights a year. Hopkins has 122K in 2017 flights down from 332K in 2000. Cuyahoga is down from 65k in 2000 to 20k in 2017. Keeping 450 acres on prime downtown lakefront land reserved for a useless airport is one of the many mistakes Cleveland has made. You clearly haven't met the NIMBY crowd in Richmond Heights and Willoughby Hills, who have already fought any runway expansion for years at CGF. And in terms of the flight schools at BKL, I'd love to hear you tell the owners that they don't count as "business."

Cleveland Browns Discussion
What exactly was "get rid of him" wrong with Taylor today? Some inconsistency and one pick, otherwise a good game. The offense was inept, Taylor's decision making was awful, he missed wide open receivers, he threw an INT at crunch time (his one claim to fame is that he usually doesn't turn the ball over), he didn't step up in the pocket, he actually ran into a sack when the left side was wide open for a QB run or pass, etc. I'm really not surprised though. Everyone knows that Taylor is at best an average quarterback. This is the guy who was actually benched for Nathan Peterman for crying out loud. It's only a matter of time before he is benched for the Heisman winner and #1 overall pick. How many times did Tyrod revert to that little dump off pass 3 years down field right over the line of scrimmage. It must have been 6 times in the last two drives. It seems like he was always looking for the relief valve. Count me in on the "let's try Baker" bandwagon.

Cleveland sidewalks
They can also certainly be more efficient with their resources. I know a couple of people who work for the City and they joke about what a colossal glut of time clock whores work there doing nothing--in every department.

Cleveland sidewalks
My personal favorite is when the City of Cleveland goes in and installs ADA ramps at crossing--but the sidewalks just beyond them are non-navigable by a wheelchair! It's no wonder you see so many folks riding their wheelchairs in the streets.

9/11 Legacy Thread
All these youngins! I was 29 at the time, and had just dropped my toddler son (now a freshman at OSU) off at daycare. My wife (now ex) called me to let me know what was happening, and insisted I go get our son from daycare and stay home from work that day. Somehow she thought his daycare in Rocky River was going to be a soft target....

I would think New Orleans would have an advantage on things involving the Mississippi. My gut instinct is the Browns will stun the Saints at home. The Bud Light coolers will be open next weekend.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
That's so Euro of you! :) Or old-Cleveland, circa 1920's. I’m on bored with this. Tall towers aren’t the end all be able. Maybe a few more downtown, but midtown, and the inner west side are best suited to be filled with shorter buildings. I don't think you'd find any opposition here....
