  1. Almost no football stadiums in Europe are directly in the central business district however. There is, however, always a train station!
  2. Looks like an amazing conversion!

Why can't they all be like last night? I'm sure Toronto still has some fight in them, no matter how deep Lebron is in their heads.
  4. Were there any inbound pax?
  5. Meanwhile in Dallas, AT&T stadium is being paid off ahead of schedule, allowing the city of Arlington to grease the financing of a new Rangers retractable roof park. Jerry Jones originally wanted to build in the city of Dallas, but found the city an unwilling partner. They probably should have cut a deal with him. The Rangers could be moving into the city as well.
  6. Dunno about that. I do know that Obama used the 757 quite a bit. Then if that's the case, I think he may be going in to BKL this weekend.

A was just actually thinking about the dirt bikers last night. With the Main Ave Bridge down to one lane, CPD finally has a perfect spot to trap them all in one spot.
  8. He would have to use CLE--I don't think they could land AF1 at BKL unless it was some sort of crazy national emergency. Runway is not long enough and can't support weight. They have, in the past, landed at CLE and boarded Marine 1 for the quick trip to BKL. Minor factoid: AF1 is not a 747; it is whatever plane the President is using. Sometimes a 757 is used, which could land at BKL. Yes very true--but I thought since 9/11 they always want POTUSA on the 747 due to advanced communication and defensive equipment?

  10. Last time I was there there was a walkway. https://www.visitindy.com/indianapolis-indiana-convention-center-lucas-oil-stadium My comment also intended to highlight that they are managed by the same people, so in terms of booking events, they can sweeten the pot by hosting a dinner, etc over at the stadium.
  11. OMG they have the Ben Davis high school prom??? What have we been missing out on in Cleveland?? ;) ;D But seriously. Large scale stadium events are few and far between. The stadium in Indy does well because it's part of the convention complex. If positioned properly in Cleveland to work in conjunction with and compliment Quicken Loans Arena, it could be a formidable player.
  12. Maybe Cordray is exactly the kind of pro-gun control/moderate on guns candidate that can show the NRA they don't all need to be whack-a-doodles appearing in internet ads in full camo carrying a bible.
  13. To me this run just feels like another Kuchinich stepping stone to national office. Not that all politicians don't aspire to that, but Dennis! doesn't seem to hide it.
  14. Leaning Cordray also.

    That's not good...

Great win for game 1 on the road in Toronto. By the end of the game the Raptors looked thoroughly demoralized. Let's hope that stays in their head the next 4 games!
  17. If ever there was a city that needed transit....what a mess down there!
  18. We've had the debate in other threads, but if this doesn't illustrate the economic power of a state capitol, I don't know what does. 5 of the 6 listed here are state government centers. All those steady paychecks help keep things going in the down times, and help make things sizzle in the good.
  19. Seems like the major dailies in Ohio are in favor of Issue 1, with the only major opposition coming from the ACLU who says it doesn't go far enough. http://www.acluohio.org/archives/blog-posts/our-position-on-state-issue-1-faq
  20. Yes it was a 2 class service 757 1x daily to Gatwick.
  21. It wouldn't have to if the road had been reworked with at grade intersections. Or for a much simpler solution, reduce the Shoreway to 2 lanes each direction, with a breakdown/bus lane. The bus could just pull over in that lane and drop off pax at the stop right above the Edgewater Beachhouse without even having to exit.
  22. What’s so stupid about this process? Sounds like you’re complaining just to complain, as usual. As usual? Wow I didn't realize I had a hater! I'm actually quite positive at most things on here--but running an airport is not something I think the City of Cleveland should be engaging in. From lots of posts in this thread, I have seen there are others that agree with me. Maybe I'm reading this wrong as to how it's going to work at Hopkins, but it sounds like pax will clear FCIS, then have to go through TSA to walk through the A Concourse to get to bag claim? That is NOT how it's done at any major airport that I've entered via.
  23. No doubt. But one of the major problems for Edgewater is the lack of public transit. When is the BRT going to stop there and help alleviate the traffic issues? It stops there but only on Saturdays. Pretty useless. The CSU Line already runs on Thursday evenings--with good frequency. What would it take RTA to add a stop for these events?
  24. Where in Europe were you? SUVs are increasing in popularity there, but the market is still dominated by small and subcompact cars.
  25. Sounds like the TSA is trying to up their employment rolls at CLE, plus provide some free alcohol courtesy of unsuspecting passengers. What an absolutely stupid setup--way worse than taking a shuttle to bag claim!
