Not that I think playing the lottery is ever a good idea, but your odds of winning are certainly higher the more tickets you buy. But going from one to 10 tickets purchased is statistically insignificant in terms of winning the jackpot.

I was there. Probably not far from your position. Aerosmith was not on that bill it was Van Halen, Scorpions and Dokken. And oh yeah, who could forget Kingdom Come (except everyone).

Columbus: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
When I read the post at first I thought it said NASHVILLE instead of NATIONWIDE! Good for Columbus glad it will be rocking this weekend! Completely my fault and all apologies. Thoughts and prayers....

Or she has never actually completed that walk and is relying on Google Maps, which I find is set to "Grandmother Speed" for walking directions.

I always laugh when the jackpots go up and someone decides to plop $20 down instead of just $2. Statistically they are really in no better position having spent the extra $18. Congrats on your big win! I suppose you're upping your UO membership to premium today? ;)

Public Square is a 20 minute walk away? The writer must be one of those slow-walkers I'm always dodging around!

What are you watching?
After finally getting around to watching Narcos, I'm obsessed with Pablo Escobar. There are a few other documentaries on him making my list.

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
I think the environmental history of the site would be the single most prohibitive factor in canal digging there (after the almighty dollar of course). It's one thing to dig in the earth and build a building there, it's another to introduce water from an existing navigable waterway.

Let it Whip!!!! Also, The James Gang has aged particularly well. I still hear Funk 49 and Walk Away pretty regularly in California. It still confounds me that not a single one of the 3,000 local alt-rock bands never went anywhere in the 90's. p.s. now to bring this post full circle, the bassist for the James Gang produced.......Let it Whip for the Dazz Band. It actually won him a grammy for recording. Who was the bass player that produced it? I never heard that before?

This is becoming entirely too specific for an "Off Topic" thread. Can you guys take this to the "DEATH INTERSECTIONS OF THE NATI" thread? ;D

Cleveland: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame News & Discussion
Honestly has there every been a full-on Cleveland band that made a huge impact on mainstream music? It's always "sort-of" like the Cars, Joe Walsh, The Black Keys, Nine Inch Nails, etc. None that are like "Yeah, we from Cleveland...."

The city is raking in so much from the RHOF that it can't be bothered to maintain the roads in front of it until the complaints stack up.....

Anyone know a good tenants rights lawyer?
You could do what happened to me once when viewing a house. I was walking through with a real estate agent and opened a bedroom door to a fully naked guy standing there. His girlfriend was topless in bed. I ended up putting an offer in on the house but the owner backed out due to contingencies. ;) :D

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
I wonder if rather than a full-on Disney Store, it won't be some sort of spin off that sells Broadway-related merchandise full time? It would make sense for PHS to have a presence there maybe selling tickets and merchandise from current and past shows.

Better hope the financing paperwork was all signed by this weekend. The impending trade war could set off another recession!

Did the City of Cleveland ever offer incentives to it's employees? Or was it an all or nothing situation?

Most of the ones I see on the near west side also have dealer markings or license frames from Buffalo, Rochester, etc. Definitely not rental car fleet.

I know someone that works for Stark and the only thing I've gotten out of them is there are still plenty of meetings happening on the project. So it's not dead at all.

I hate to give Trump credit for anything, so I won't. But Obama removal has something to do with this. There was concern about relocating in the medical sector because of uncertainty about what could happen vis a vis government control. It's no secret that if there were to be a de-privatization, NE Ohio would suffer in favor of areas with more direct political clout: i.e. powerful Congressmen or proximity to existing public sector centers of influence. Rochester, MN (Mayo) would also suffer. While this remains a long term issue, short term not so much. It's by no means the main factor but it's a factor. This is pure GOP propaganda. Obamacare was written by the private health insurance industry to keep itself solvent. Forcing citizens to buy insurance from existing companies is hardly socialist medicine. And even so, Cleveland Clinic is a healthcare provider, not an insurer. If the USA somehow passed single-payer legislation, the Clinic would live to fight another day since they have enough political clout to retool their business model. The true story of the growth of the Clinic is all about demographics. The entire baby boomer generation is 55+ now, with the first ones already in their 70's. They are causing a huge surge in the demand for healthcare, and Cleveland is riding the wave. The questions for our leaders should be--what comes next so we don't have a healthcare crash like the 70/80's manufacturing dive.

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
Like all big cities--be aware of your surroundings. I've never felt much concern there--but I tend to not notice as a 6'4" 240 lb guy--people don't bother me as much.
