  1. If I had to guess I'd say it's a lessee's market in downtown Cleveland, especially for a well-known brand who's patrons will seek them out. The Lizard is probably trying to optimize profits and gets a better deal out of a new landlord. One would think they probably asked their existing landlord to match the deal and it was declined?
  2. I have a classic car and would love to have a 3rd garage bay at my house in the city. The wife won't let me knock down the old garage and take up more of the yard with a bigger one!
  3. True! It happens everywhere in America. I realize now this sounds like I was singling out Cleveland, but was only referring to the stretch of road @cadmenwas complaining about. All of NE Ohio drives on crumbling roads poured by Allega! :)
  4. This is what happens when things in Cleveland are built by the lowest bidder. Watered down concrete doesn't last as long.
  5. Stefanski giving up playcalling. Ken Dorsey will call the offense. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/kevin-stefanski-hands-over-offensive-play-calling-to-ken-dorsey#:~:text=Head coach Kevin Stefanski announced, during his Wednesday press conference. Am I the only one questioning this? Dorsey was fired from Buffalo after their high-powered offense struggled last year. They were a disappointing 6-6 after the bye week. Once Dorsey was fired, the offense returned to it's all pro form, they won the rest of their games and an AFC East title, losing to the Chiefs in the divisional round. Now think about the 2024 Browns vs 2023. Yes Watson returned, but is he the only reason for the complete undoing of a once power-ranked offense from 2023? Enter Ken Dorsey, and the Browns have barely been able to score points.
  6. I am with you. Would much rather see this tied to the CSU campus to increase the usage and street activity even more, vs a stadium on an island next to a freeway.
  7. Nearly every Yankee and Tiger fan I interacted with at the 6 games I attended complimented Cleveland on the ball park. And it's only going to get better. The standing zones with hightops are definitely a hit.
  8. Can the city law director file the suit themselves? Or would they need to retain outside counsel. Either way it's forcing Haslam to spend money on lawyers to defend it plus file any appeals, while the city law director is playing with house (taxpayer) money. Between the attorney fees and more negative PR, It would certainly add to the stack at the negotiating table.
  9. If you really want to be sad, and go further off topic, google some pictures of that area 100 years ago.
  10. Someone in Cincinnati stopped paying the bill in 2003.
  11. They do (at least in Rocky River, where I occasionally shop)
  12. I'm wondering what your definition of a "warzone" is?
  13. Upstate NY is high on the lake effect snow target list, which gets worse each year as the lakes are no longer freezing over...
  14. Sounds like a British porn star name... 😐
  15. Looks like a nice blank slate for such a space!
  16. The orchestra has been there for over 50 years and has a healthy season ticket holder base. They also have a very reliable tenant in Live Nation booking the pop/rock shows. I don't think they are worried about the "I don't go to Blossom" crowd.
  17. It wouldn't take long for the residents to figure out they can ask $60 for parking in their front lawn and still save fans money. Tell the mayor to visit Orchard Park NY and see how it works there.
  18. The orchestra owns Blossom and Severance Hall. They aren't moving to a new venue downtown. Best case is you'd have to pay them to play there for a special event (IE 4th of July fireworks to music, etc).
  19. I was in Brisbane over the summer and rented a bike for the day and rode most of the "Brisbane River Loop." I'd love to see something like this in Cleveland--from the mouth of the Cuyahoga, upriver to the steel mills, and back. Not my video--but gives a good impression of what this is like:
  20. There would always be someone willing to step in. I bet Lebron could be the anchor of an ownership group and would be very interested in getting in on owning a Cleveland sports franchise.
  21. As long as their next one in UC is 275'!
  22. I don't see it happening unless Jimmy adds about 10,000 hotel rooms to his new truck stop lifestyle center in Brookpark.
  23. Actually in thinking about this it must be hard times for crackheads breaking into cars. Not many CD players in cars any more, and parking meters are all going digital so less and less change in cars.
