I've been on a couple of rail systems around the world that can service platforms, and street level stair exits (Buffalo comes to mind close to home). Why can't we do something similar here?

I've taken both quite a few times. The Eurostar is limited in the tunnel to the 100 mph. And if your statement about the auto train is true, the "at up to 100 mph" must be stressed, because I never felt like we were doing much more than 35.... Either way, it's an impressive system built by an group of nations not afraid to invest in infrastructure. We're still waiting on Trump's bill....

Neither the Chunnel trains, nor Amtrak are 200 mph trains however.

I went to CSU. Not sure about right now, but back then the theater department certainly wasn't world-class. There were always collaborations, but PHS should have the power to drop some top-notch faculty and students from around the world. I just think it's untapped potential.

I've always wondered why PHS doesn't partner with CSU and have a world-class theater department, just blocks from each other. CSU could even contribute to the district by building a real theater on campus.

Let's hope their are no Amazon scouts checking out the transit system they want in their HQ2 city!

Or they sell the CMSD to build a vocational jr high school..... :P

Did skateboarders ever block traffic on an interstate while performing dangerous maneuvers around other motorists? My problem with this whole thing is if one of these kids rams into me and kills himself, the parents are going to sue me....

I don't think Hard Rock stadium is fully enclosed--they only added a roof over the seating areas. Anything can be done with enough money--but I don't think a load-bearing roof could be put over Paul Brown for $300 million.

The issue the Browns had with Watson was supposedly they were concerned about his style of play making him prone to injury, much like RGIII. So they don't look quite so dumb on this one. Right--he didn't even make it out of a PRACTICE on Thursday. Hopefully Deshaun will mellow out and mature for the Texans, but there's a greater chance he'll continue to get hurt and be another RGIII.

Agreed 1000%. If anything Trisket station is NOT the one to do this at. Brookpark would make more sense, for commuter parents to drop kids off. By the time parents get to Trisket, they'll just stay in their cars and continue downtown! Plus Trisket is (sort of) still in the fabric of an existing neighborhood. RTA has ZERO vision.

I'm not so sure about that. Every other commercial on Fox News or Rush Limbaugh is for a reverse mortgage, adult diapers or a walk-in bathtub. Or maybe just that's their ENTIRE demo....

From what I saw when I lived downtown (mind you this was 12 years ago), there are plenty of residents who don't mind the reverse commute. Of course they probably wouldn't mind walking to work either....

Maybe they can implement the signal prioritization to try to get the buses moving in between the driver enforcing fares.

Franklin in Lakewood is not apples to apples though. There is no on-street parking, and there's a center turn lane. As a frequent user of Franklin, I've seen some near misses with cars doing 35-40 as someone steps from around a parked SUV or van to go to their driver's door. The same issue exists on Lake Ave on the Cleveland side where you have all the apartment residents parked on a 35 mph roadway. In fact you'll notice, most drivers use half the turn lane to avoid driving too close to those parked cars.

Who was the player everyone missed the most in this year's post season? My vote is for Zimmer--the kid had a great season building and was still growing. Would have loved to seen him in CF over Kipnis, and welcomed his bat the last few games.

I'm so tired of hearing this term in Cleveland. If it's such "prime land", why are there a sea of parking lots around it?

I have family that work in the business and have been told this initiative won't do anything for the average Joe in terms of day to day prices for their prescriptions at CVS. If there is any reason to vote NO, it's the ballot language allowing tax payer funds be used to let these 4 people defend the law in court should it pass. This could cost the state billions if it goes through. From Ballotpedia's "Fact Check": Opponents of Ohio Issue 2 claim that the ballot initiative includes "an unprecedented provision granting [the promoters] the right to intervene at taxpayer expense in any legal challenges that may be filed against the measure."[1] That is correct. Section G of Issue 2 grants four initiative proponents—William Booth, Tracy Jones, Latonya Thurman, and Daniel Darland—the right to intervene in a legal challenge to defend the initiative’s validity and requires the state to pay their reasonable attorney’s fees and expenses.[2]

The same trend like when the Chargers moved to San Diego? Or when the Raiders moved to LA, then back? Or when the Rams moved to St Louis. Or when the Rams moved back to LA, and the Chargers decided to the very same season? Or when the Raiders moved to Vegas? This has nothing to do with Trump and the Faux-Patriot boycotts, etc. The NFL has always struggled there. Maybe with the new stadium in Englewood they'll finally find a long-term success.
