  1. Rhetorical question: Saturday night downtown will host the Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the same time that the Guardians (hopefully) will be playing Game 5. Is RTA adding any trains or service to accommodate the crowds?
  2. Did anyone catch the building in last night's sunset? It was gorgeous!
  3. I agree--was riding the Red Line the other day taking in the view of the Irishtown Bend project and thinking the very same thing. That land is RIPE for housing on the upper slopes. it would seem to be a perfect fit for a public/private development of housing and a park.
  4. I still believe. The Guards GAVE the Yankees several runs as a result of their young-team jitters. Last night we left bases loaded multiple times. As this series grinds on, I can see the learning curve flattening and giving the Yankees a run for their money. The saddest thing will be the Friday and Saturday games, which are likely to turn into almost Yankee home games with all their fans traveling to the Land....
  5. I guess you're the heir-apparent to lead the Huntington Bank Field renovations. Just don't forget to include the Deshaun Watson massage room, located right next to the bank vault in sub-basement E3. 😐
  6. I was getting a bunch of TV ads last night during the ALCS game. They were all anti-Issue 1 and claiming that Democrats were going to "turn the state blue." As if...
  7. Don't give them ideas...we'll end up with the name of some city politician. The "Frank G Jackson Roadway". 6 lanes wide...and goes nowhere! 😜
  8. I've been saying this all along. Was Watson ever THAT good? Nothing he did in Houston was memorable enough to make him the highest paid QB in the league and give away all our draft picks.
  9. Hopefully Jimmy makes better real estate and capital investment decisions than he does with Quarterbacks. Given his experience with developing farm land at freeway exits, the Brookpark site stands to be quite the boondoggle!
  10. The good news is the technology has made leaps from 1996. LED fixtures now make maintenance minimal, which we all know in the City of Cleveland is a must for success.
  11. Same here except in rare instances of need (like I'm sick and need Ramen). In fact, I can't believe all these people paying these prices, then complaining about inflation. Get off your couch and go get something and $hit is much cheaper! As an aside, my son drove for Door Dash a couple summers ago when home from OSU. He delivered the same $100 McDonalds order the same woman in Euclid FIVE nights one week. I guess it was easier for her to push that same button on her phone than go out to the store and get healthy food for her kids.

Congrats to Frankie Lindor, who sends the Mets to the NLCS on a grand slam! https://www.mlb.com/news/mets-win-nlds-2024?partnerId=it-20241010-11326256-mlb-1-A&utm_id=it-20241010-11326256-mlb-1-A&lctg=235559334
  13. Would the Feds really object to Cleveland PD arresting people for taking over intersections? I've worked with a LOT of unions in my day, and this feels like one of those situations where someone got slapped so they are all sitting on their hands claiming they can't do anything out of spite.
  14. None of this is surprising, other than the fact that we have "traffic guys" in Cleveland. I never see them! LOL

Medical science definitely needs to come up with a better measure for this. I'm 6'4", 247 lbs and my BMI is 31. Obese by the body mass index scale. Sure I have a little tiny dad belly, but I don't think anyone would consider me obese.
  16. I've never taken that flight before, but I can imagine it would be the definition of "living hell in an Airbus." 😜
  17. Channel 19 news reporter in one in Lakewood the other day. Both parties shot and the male deceased. No reporting in this story as to whether she fired back at him in self defense, etc. 19 News Reporter Winnie Dortch hospitalized after Lakewood shooting https://www.cleveland19.com/2024/10/07/19-news-reporter-winnie-dortch-hospitalized-after-lakewood-shooting/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR3EpZdg24htUkKHgEUPWcspgFc0jlDCFvtxTwzqOwO6PB3yA-rfAjSf_2s_aem_vSYqGysU92xw2PIWgjVMWA#m1z78unm8kw3t8u323q
  18. So Columbus had the will. And the helicopter and coordination. I'm watching this video and the opening shots had a video of a guy doing donuts around a cruiser. Why can't the officer just smash into the car, like a pit maneuver in a high speed chase?
  19. I live near Edgewater. There are some horrific accidents on the Shoreway (more often than one might think...maybe), and I will routinely see 10 cruisers all parked to close down the Shoreway entrance while a wrecker crew does it's thing to remove flipped cars and debris. The officers usually park next to each other so they can converse through open windows. So it's completely possible if there is the will....
  20. If you think that's bad you should go out on the streets there at rush hour (or any time of day). Absolute chaos!
  21. I believe it's been brought up on this very site a few times during the discussion about the proposed Lorain submarine repair facility?
  22. It's likely deep enough but would require significant investment. What would require minimal investment and would make the Port of Cleveland memorable for passengers is to use my idea of rafting off the Mather as our cruise ship terminal. The only investment would be some pilings and handicap access through the Mather's hull. And the European operators of these cruises are very familiar with this as they do it with their river cruises daily. As a part of the port fee, every cruise ship passenger would get a ticket to tour the entire Mather museum as well. This experience would certainly make it a one-of-a-kind on the great lakes, or anywhere else.
  23. Here is the answer on the military-looking ship: CLEVELAND, Ohio – This city on the lake has become a regular port of call for the U.S. Navy. Its most recent visitor, the USS Nantucket, sailed into Cleveland Harbor Monday morning and is expected to remain dockside until Friday. https://www.cleveland.com/news/2024/10/why-is-a-navy-combat-ship-docked-at-the-port-of-cleveland.html?utm_campaign=clevelanddotcom_sf&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwY2xjawFyOfNleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHWmNueEQFf5MzpvRlSxG2_7_YhBxO9NRyXe9YCpUGeV7mcXw2WsNO00PNQ_aem_MYRA_U0CwGhN-2qm6nHGRA
