Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I was there yesterday--so wonderful to see those stands full on a beautiful October afternoon! Must have looked great on TV.

Would be a great tenant for the Wolstein.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Very true. If the fans complained about a beer for $15 at a bar on W 6th, just wait until its $30 in Jimmy's playground.

And the owners have to vote on new owners. It's a club that certainly the 31 owners that are just billionaire guys would not want to expend to other public ownership groups.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
Dallas has a newly built terminal D. LGA was recently re-built. Denver is actually quite magnificent (I routinely target it for my connections vs O'Hare). Also these are cities that don't need the image boost. They are growing and gaining population, and are on the radar of the nation.

Cleveland: Hotels, Conventions, and Tourism News & Info
Agree 100%. Sadly retail is dying (in America). It cant' stand along without some other means of driving traffic to it. Amtrak, CVSR and RTA would all help the cause and help breathe new life into the building.

Westlake: Crocker Park
Doesn't the 2 level parking ramp just to the north of it count?
-
Other Countries: Passenger Rail News
Took it roundtrip Tokyo Osaka in August. Still a fantastic mode of transport. Between Germany and Japan (both defeated nations that we helped rebuilid), we could learn a thing or two about rail transport.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
Sadly this will probably remain a surface lot for quite some time. In other news, I landed yesterday morning from Newark. There are 12 bag claim conveyors at CLE, including 10-12 on the far west side of the terminal that are never used any longer. United sent the bags from Toronto, Dulles, Chicago and Newark all to belt #9. It was quite the clusterF*ck! I was seriously scratching my head....

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
in an intersection like 25th/lorain could be done with 10-12 cruisers. Unlike the dirtbikes some of these cars are serious investments. Let them run, then let K&M towing do their thing to the cars on the way to the impound lot.
-
Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
It would also only take 6-8 cruisers to block them all in at an intersection. Even if the perps run, tow and impound their cars and arrest them when they show up to pick them up.

Cleveland / Northeast Ohio: "What If/Hypothetical/Dream" Construction and Projects Discussion
Where is the retail center? Elmwood Ave is thriving with miles of street activity. For those who have never been, check out streetview on Elmwood and keep clicking south all the way to downtown Buffalo (past Allen St) https://www.google.com/maps/@42.9226247,-78.877038,3a,75y,182.33h,88.32t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1syDIhI2UYYa3cW2in2NprAw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DyDIhI2UYYa3cW2in2NprAw%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D232.93477%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205409&entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MDkyNS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
Seeing this makes me more and more concerned that the city shouldn't be tossing away the Eagle St bridge. There has to be some Federal funding etc to save it? This is going to become a busy area.

Amtrak & Federal: Passenger Rail News
Sounds a lot like airlines and rental car companies as well.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
Will there be any further public comment accepted on this proposal?

I think to some degree people have some sort of false impression of what this Burkke "waterfront" property would bel. Unless you've spent time on a boat in this location, you might not realize the reality of it. This is inside the breakwall of the Cleveland Harbor. There are no waves breaking, but there is plenty of trash, logs etc. After a big storm the water turns brown and there are lots of dead fish. It's not exactly some sort of utopian beach.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
DA BROWNS. When they hired Dorsey it was a head-scratcher for me. The Bills fired him last year and the offense exploded when he went away. So of course, the Browns hire him! Maybe a more football person can explain this logic to me. My guess is they wanted a OC to help, but Stefanski didn't want someone too good.

Cleveland: Zoning Discussion
He's right. The culture is awful. I've said it before on here and members have asked me "what has the city ever done to you?" It's what they HAVEN'T done. Like all their jobs that we the tax payers fund.

Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport
It should also be accompanied by a greenway around the burke lakefront property. A biking/walking "pier" that gives public access to the harborfront while BKL continues operations.
-
Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Westinghouse Redevelopment
All the SIM City talk of developers building lakefront highrises on the BKL thread had me thinking about this project. Driving the Shoreway later evening it's wonderful to see the sunset coming through the unbricked window openings (though still covered). It will be lovely someday to see this project seen to a completion with lights on in those windows, and some of the better views of downtown and the lake! Crossing my fingers for news soon.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
That is most everything public infrastructure these days. The lowest bidder tends to water-down the concrete!

Cleveland: University Circle: Circle Square
I'd like to see the return of a "Doans Corners" neighborhood with restaurants and nighttime options. Woodhilll and OC are sort of a blank slate for this?
