Cleveland Guardians Discussion
25,910 LOL thank you--I didn't even realized that posted. My firefox crashed and I never went back to it! :) I think we will start to see the attendance trending upward for the rest of the season. Should be no issues with playoff tickets left unsold.

Good thing he wasn't playing LSU--he would have gotten leveled after that play!

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
There is my old POS apartment to the left, owned by a POS landlord who can't be bothered to tuckpoint the east wall (it leaks right on in) or the roof (it leaks right on down). Or the electrical wiring that's gleefully awful. As for the truck - that looks like a delivery truck. One would either block the bus stop or block the Starbucks exit. It's also a Reefer truck, which they wouldn't be using to move anything. I stopped in their last week and the barista said September 22 is the new store opening date.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
This has been discussed countless times upthread including: 1. Attendance at MLB overall is down. 2. The Indians do well in television ratings. 3. Where would they actually move that can do better? A Sunbelt town with lots of new population (like Tampa)?

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Agreed--which is why I said it didn't translate on the field. He "looked" bad ass when you were down there standing next to him at warm ups. Doesn't mean he stacked up that way against the competition!

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I don't think he was going to make the team. Sad--all the times I was down on the field Mingo was THE "freak of nature" on the team. He had the build of a Madden video game player come-to-life! Too bad it didn't translate on the field. Belichick will probably make him a superstar....

Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
Sounds reasonable to me. There could also be be a tax-incentive offered to employers for this benefit, all while hiking the actual parking tax to increase revenue for transit.

Northeast Ohio: Regionalism News & Discussion
Let's start with the term "list of demands...." Are they really in a position to "demand" anything?

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
I wouldn't advise a sense of security when entering that ramp even with lowered speeds!

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
It wouldn't solve its largely windowless bunker-style design, or its large apron (er, moat) of concrete and grass surrounding it. The whole structure says "I don't care about interacting on a human scale with my urban surroundings." And guess what -- it doesn't. In fairness, most arenas aren't built to be big statements of urbanity And there's plenty of space to build a 15 story, 1,000 room dorm in front of it attached to the arena....

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
I agree. This is in no way, shape or form a Boulevard. It's just irritating. It's nearly impossible to go 35 because it's a freaken highway! I can see it being 40mph, going 45mph is pretty comfortable. But going 40mph is really difficult. Why don't Cleveland area planners know there is a speed limit above 35mph but below highway speeds? In North Olmsted on a small stretch (50mph) and Detroit Rd in Westlake (40mph) but other than those two, I can't really think of any places with speed limits greater than 35mph in Cuyahoga County though they would be suitable in a lot of areas. I keep hoping the end product with medians will help calm traffic. Something about those concrete jersey barriers in the center makes people want to fly. Recently it's been people doing 75 passing cars doing 35. The Highway Patrol must have been having a field day with reckless op tickets those days they were out there.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
The question is: as long as Burke continues to operate, how prime is this real estate since it is adjacent to Burke? Now if Burke were to close/relocate, this land's value skyrockets. We were up in Bar 32 at the Hilton, with it's stunning lakes-shore views, for nearly 2 hours the other evening and not one single plane took off or land at Burke. I know many people, including on the UO board, claim how essential Burke is to Cleveland esp downtown, but I just don't see it. When were you there? I can tell you (living in Bratenahl) I see planes quite frequently from my house as well as when driving along the Shoreway. Is it something the average Joe is using? Absolutely not but it is definitely a selling point for Cleveland. A week ago Sunday. Bar 32 was full... Sundays are quiet at BKL unless there is a major event in town, just like the rest of downtown. Much of the business is corporate and air taxi, plus rotary wing operations for the Cleveland Clinic, etc.

Agreed. Can you complete your training and convince Dan Gilbert to partner with this guy to build the outlets and Phase 2 of the casino on the riverfront?

Cleveland: Population Trends
Nice to see her recognize Constant Aviation. That company and Kenn Ricci's other aviation interests (Sentient, Directional, Nextant, Flight Options, etc.) add up to another almost secret billion-dollar-sales Cleveland group of companies run from offices at Cuyahoga County Airport. ***THIS. See all my posts on the BKL thread. . Why the City of Cleveland doesn't offer land deals to aviation businesses at Burke is beyond me....

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I think these fears are overstated. It's their employees paying the tax, not the business. So they can choose to spend millions or more to relocate, or have their employees pay the tax. Of course, there is another solution. Employees could take transit and not pay the tax.

Steve LaTourette
I agree. I read somewhere that Latourette pulled in more recovery stimulus funds than Kuchinich, who was too caught up in narcissism aka campaigning for President.

If they are power washing the building, I would think they are not leveling it? That is a good start!

I would hope they are FAA licensed flying that high up at the end of the Burke runways!
