  1. Nice shots!
  2. Good news! I hope next year's NBA championship can end here, so I can find my way on the roof of that cafe to see the action!
  3. And the "informed consumers," at least from my sampling of coworkers and friends, chose to ignore the advice to "Ride RTA" and drove their own cars downtown. The ones that go their frequently and are saavy enough to know where to park (not the Gateway sports crowd who only know one exit), said they had no issues at all. Zipped downtown, found a space, and were back home right after since traffic wasn't all that bad. I find it reprehensible that RTA actively pitched their services without pulling out all the stops, then when it turned into a disaster chose to point the finger the other way.
  4. I'm hearing lots of new-found optimism out of my friends, neighbors and most importantly, members of the media. The curse has been broken. The Monsters AND the Cavs? What can stop us now? They are ready to believe. If the Indians are still streaking at the All Star break, I think you'll start to see those stands filling up. Not even 16K last night. It will take some time, but if they are still in first after the ASB, watch what happens. I wonder how many of the 1 million cavsparaders will opt for a $16 upper deck ticket tonight?
  5. I just got back from downtown. Unfortunately was not able to use RTA either way. I shelled out $60+ in ubers, but it was worth the convenience. I was also at two Red Line stations and never saw the employees they claimed would be selling passes. I'm sure they ran away seeing the barrage of people heading their way. I know RTA is saying there is nothing they could do, but I wonder how many train cars on the Red Line sat idle, how many buses stayed parked and how many workers sat at home rather than paying them overtime. This was a perfect chance to step up and show what heavy transit can do. Instead they pi$$ed off hundreds of thousands in the burbs, who will continue to vote against any funding.

Wow what's with the Debbie Downer? I don't think this town had it in us....everyone was so genuinely happy that this wasn't on their minds--even in the less desirable "hoods." I have not heard of any property destruction save for a couple couches and a police car. I'm sure the crowds downtown added to the wait times at the bars and kept this kind of frat-boy destruction in check. If there is destruction at the RNC, it's very likely to be imported by groups traveling here to specifically make trouble.

Sounds like we should all kick in for some Powerball ticket for you also! Congrats!

Eff-it! Let's be greedy and hope for some October baseball in Cleveland too!
  10. Try landing after 9 pm at Hopkins. I swear United keeps one ground crew on duty, so if multiple flights land at one time, I've waited up to an hour for bags.

PLEASE KJP. Do not turn on the game Sunday!!!!!!
  12. Laziness. Pure and simple. Going after those funds and eliciting change means more than just sitting at their desk every day, collecting a check as they have the past decades. In the end it's easier to mow down buildings and hope someone builds a new one than put forth an effort to reinvest in the old.

^^very true. The balance of nature has been in turmoil for about the last 150 years with the industrialization and farming around the lake. I'm not sure we'll ever get it back to natural, but every little thing helps.

Sounds like he wasn't your "average" Canadian eh? Courtside seats and killed in broad daylight in his Range Rover. There is much more to this story....
  15. City employees. Someone probably called off on Monday and the rest of the people said, "that's not my job."

I love the fact that they are getting more physical. We need more of those hard screens on Clay and Curry!

I have felt like that every year in the past. This year I feel different. Somehow things seem right for the Cavs. They are healthy and the coaching has been (mostly outstanding). They also seem to LOVE playing with each other. At the risk of continuing yet another year of the Cleveland sports curse, I am feeling it this year. I never root for any player to get injured, but I have a suspicion Curry will go down, and their entire lineup got a little beat on during the OKC series. It's probably a given that Draymond will get another T and face a suspension. I'll go out and say it: Cavs in 6, winning at home.

Time to get physical! Other teams do it to the CAVS. It's time to step it up. Curry was caught on camera clutching his knee last night after that acrobatic layup to end the half. Draymond took a big guy to the floor with his head. They just played a couple really hard series while we rested. I actually feel much better about our team going into this year than last, when Lebron and the bench took them to 6 games.
  19. Interesting. I've never quite understood the quirky jobs West Blvd takes from Madison to Detroit, rather then just dumping onto Madison then continuing north of Detroit Ave.
  20. They should take this one step further and double the thickness to make a viable truck route from the port out to 490! Get those trucks off of W 25th, the Detroit Superior Bridge and Huron!

Where do you get this? There are 129 active rock stations in all the top markets in the country. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Active_rock_radio_stations_in_the_United_States There are countless other classic rock formats which are playing many of these artists. There are also dozens of other hugely successful festivals with the same acts (Carolina Rebellion, Northern Invasion, Rocklahoma, etc). Radio as a whole is dying off, and genres are being more and more segmented, but these festivals the the metal format are making a comeback.

Does Draymond Green get even more for his shoes (aka the Nutcrackers)?

    You are correct!

In taking control of LeBron, Tyronn Lue has created a monster in Cleveland CLEVELAND -- The monster that has been unleashed here in the Eastern Conference finals didn't just wake up and start stomping around when the postseason began. The seeds were planted long before. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/in-taking-control-of-lebron-tyronn-lue-has-created-a-monster-in-cleveland/
  25. Of course we wouldn't want those GOP delegates seeing wasteful spending on things like infrastructure. Make America Great Again!
