Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I don't wish this on any team, but the Cavs could also benefit from ANOTHER of these teams getting riddled with injuries (for once).

Probably "Downtown" Lakewood and the park to the north diluting the pattern?

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
The Warriors just played game 4 of the past 5 days. I don't buy that excuse. These are supposed to be world-class athletes. The Warriors sure looked that way.

Cleveland-Lakewood: Enhance Clifton Transit Project
Battery Park residents could take the 55 into town, and the 26 home. This way they are always walking downhill ;) I agree with KJP on this stop--if for anything to have transit access to the park. Maybe RTA could start it as a seasonal stop and see how it goes?

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
Then how do you explain: https://www.google.com/maps/search/attorney/@41.5016929,-81.6984805,15z/data=!4m8!2m7!3m6!1sattorney!2sCuyahoga+County+Common+Pleas+Court,+1200+Ontario+St,+Cleveland,+OH+44113!3s0x8830f080d4d4003d:0x3111cbc20781597!4m2!1d-81.6969355!2d41.5023685 If your theory holds true, wouldn't there be law offices scattered all over the city, rather than concentrated between E 6th and W 6th? There are plenty of civil cases heard in the Justice Center. And many of the surrounding offices house multi-specialties (including criminal defense), or are shared-space rentals.

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
Are there any plans for the surface lots between W6th/W9th and St Clair/Superior (behind Rockefeller building)?

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
I'm sure the attorneys complained when the courts building move from Payne Avenue to the Justice Center. And a surprising number of law offices are already along East 9th as well as near Playhouse Square. I don't think it will be a big deal. Law offices move around a lot, and they'll have years of Justice Center construction to secure new digs if they want to move. I think that's underestimating the power of their lobby. It's a much bigger business today than it was 50 years ago. And besides, where would they move to? There is not a lot of office space in the 18th/Carnegie area, let alone Class A space. Furthermore, as a transportation and rail advocate, why wouldn't you want the center of our justice system to be based within a short walk from the city's central rail station? (I personally know a couple Shaker-based lawyers who take the train every day).

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
Here is the reason the new Justice Center would have to be close to the old location: https://www.google.com/maps/search/attorney/@41.5016929,-81.6984805,15z/data=!4m8!2m7!3m6!1sattorney!2sCuyahoga+County+Common+Pleas+Court,+1200+Ontario+St,+Cleveland,+OH+44113!3s0x8830f080d4d4003d:0x3111cbc20781597!4m2!1d-81.6969355!2d41.5023685 There are currently generations of attorneys, bail bondsmen and other allied industries based around the current site. The BP Building, Terminal Tower, and 55 Public Square are all jammed with them. And it makes sense--it's only 3-4 blocks to the Justice Center, County or Federal Courts. A shift to E 18th would cause them all to howl, along with the "clients" of the Justice Center, who are very dependent on public transit to get them to/from home. IMO the Justice "Center" needs to stay just that: in the center of the city, government and transportation.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Yes, it and Detroit Avenue's built environment are both pretty much intact. BTW, St. Clair's isn't too bad until you get close to East 105th. I HATE St Clair between E 12th and around E 40th though....

Toronto: Developments and News
For now... http://neo-trans.blogspot.com/2016/01/cleveland-ready-to-scrape-skies-more.html I share your enthusiasm for the future KJP. But we have a long way to go to catch up with:

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I just drove all the way out Lorain today, from 25th to 140th. Would everyone on here agree that this street is as close as we come within the City of Cleveland to a glimpse into the density of the mixed-use past? Even with all the buildings missing--there are still quite a few standing.
-
Toronto: Developments and News
I don't have a problem with either city. Most of the towers are not heinous, and we all know what it takes to make new residential high rise construction financing happen (case in point: the ZERO new condo towers dotting the skyline of Cleveland).

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
True, but the good thing is that a dozen cars can back up in a drive-through lane for Starbucks. That's sometimes how many were backed up on a payday/Friday afternoon when Charter One's drive-through was there. And it did so without backing up on to the street. But I can see some traffic issues, especially with the bus-only lane and the busiest bus stop anywhere on Clifton right there at West 117th. How long do you think before a soccer mom races from the drive thru window, nonfatsoydecafthaimochalatte in hand, talking on the phone and hits a bus passenger?
-
Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
^^I like everything but the drive-thru. Feel bad for the people on W116th for the havoc that will cause.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I'm happy with Hue, for the first time since the Browns have returned. What is anyone hearing on Josh Gordon? I know he should have been a free agent, but due to the suspension he owes the Browns some games. I hope he's been trying to take care of himself.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
^good stuff. Wouldn't it be nice if Detroit quickly filled with these 6 story apartment (and maybe some ground floor retail) all the way from 25th to 65th!

NFL: General News & Discussion
The Browns are about as close as the NFL comes to this. Like it or not, the Rams didn't have the history in St Louis (and why didn't they sue to keep the Cardinals name?)
-
NFL: General News & Discussion
Because their governments have power more concentrated at the national level, they don't have the zillions of municipalities constantly undercutting each other and screwing over the local taxpayers and residents like we do. Overall I'm definitely in favor of federalism but there's got to be some way we can curb that garbage. Do soccer teams over there even move to different towns? Yes, but it's rare. In the larger scheme of things I suppose NFL relocations are rare as well, with the last one being nearly 20 years ago (Houston->Nashville). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relocation_of_professional_sports_teams#Team_relocations_in_Europe
