  1. When this country falls on it's face, lawyers will share a fair amount of the blame.....
  2. Of course, a professional "Expert Witness" is jumping into the fray: Expert says Cedar Point, not roller coaster rider, bears much of the blame in park death http://www.cleveland.com/travel/index.ssf/2015/08/expert_says_cedar_point_not_ro.html#incart_m-rpt-1
  3. Just checked Kayak for this coming weekend. Downtown hotels all around $200/night. That's a great sign. http://www.kayak.com/hotels/Cleveland,OH-c4321/2015-08-21/2015-08-23
  4. One of the few Amtrak early arrivals in this part of the world.... :) Might be even earlier. Train left Rochester at 9:45am. A crew member will be added at Buffalo, where it's due at 10:45am, meaning it could arrive Cleveland as early as 1:45pm depending on CSX freight traffic. BTW, to stay more on Browns FOOTBALL stuff, I started "The Danny Shelton man-crush thread" at barkinghard.com using the following very brief video.... https://pbs.twimg.com/tweet_video/CMtsGqjWEAATp7X.mp4 Did the Bills take the train with them to Cleveland?

  6. Seems like it could be a lot worse? Hopefully there will be some leadership in this country over the next 4 years willing to spend money on things for Americans, like bridges and transit.
  7. Quite the value vs an aircraft! Hopefully Haslem puts that back into the team somehow!
  8. That's great for Detroit though. 1,700 workers downtown became 12,500. Hopefully that happens in Cleveland some day too.
  9. The boardwalk is looking good!
  10. If we don't hear from KJP later, he's probably staring at these photos of the Browns and Amtrak: http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/media-center/photo-gallery/Photos-2015-Training-Camp---Browns-travel-to-Rochester/5f59afca-8351-4e1d-ad14-fa5b8f2434dc#c742b8b0-6393-4e20-9952-d91215590b49 :-D
  11. Bombs away -- for taxpayer-subsidized defense jobs in the Sun Belt, that is: Thomas Suddes Amid last week's bread (organic, of course) and circuses (Republican, for now), came the 70th anniversary of the day in 1945 when Japan surrendered, ending World War II. Seemingly forgotten is this fact: The United States is still at war in Asia — and has been more or less continuously since Pearl Harbor, as the American Century morphed into the New American Century. And that calls to mind another fact: War can be good for business — some businesses, anyway. http://www.cleveland.com/opinion/index.ssf/2015/08/bombs_away_-_for_taxpayer-subs.html
  12. Many neighborhoods now also attract a far greater quantity of naive people coming around for restaurants, bars, etc. This young couple was from Tremont but at Edgewater at 5 am, which one would assume is a relatively out of the way place with not much to worry about. I guess they thought wrong.
  13. The worst part: We called the cops, who took 45 minutes to get there and seemed very disinterested in the details of what we had just gone through. It is a union gig....and I have to believe they become very desensitized after seeing and hearing these stories every day.
  14. Totally. Head on down to Berea, Ohio and grab a bar stool at a local watering hole. Bring up extending the Red Line from the airport into Berea and you'll get plenty of these kind of answers...
  15. The family will still sue and probably collect a few million. The fence wasn't high enough, there weren't enough signs warning him, etc.
  16. James Swingos has passed at 73. I still think someone should recreate it in modern, boutique hotel fashion. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2015/08/james_swingos_owner_of_former_1.html
  17. He went to Jared! http://fox8.com/2015/08/11/thieves-use-sledge-hammer-to-rob-north-olmsted-jewelry-store/
  18. They should move them all to C/D, then tear down A/B and put up a couple state of the art concourses.

Seems like if the surge money is right, would be wise to have a friend book a fake trip from Akron to Cleveland.
  20. Only way that becomes a venue is if the Cleveland Agora moves there. Cleveland State doesn't have a "real" venue for it's Theatre Arts. It's close enough to campus..... :) That's a good possibility too, though perhaps too big and expensive? Pfffft....it's only taxpayer money. And probably half the cost of most Ohio public university administrator residences?

  22. I actually saw two, they did a flyover by Huntington, not sure why they were there. I know there is a D-Day reenactment in Conneaut, but that's not until next weekend. Maybe the owners were out for a practice run. If you see him again, flag him down and ask the price to sell. Its on my Powerball win bucket list.... :)
  23. Nice--where'd you see the P51 passing by?
  24. Indians trade Nick Swisher, Michael Bourn to Atlanta Braves CLEVELAND – Nick Swisher and Michael Bourn have both been traded to the Atlanta Braves for Chris Johnson. http://fox8.com/2015/08/07/indians-trade-nick-swisher-michael-bourn-to-atlanta-braves/
